I'm 88 and. My daughter just got me started making cards 3wks ago. I love your cards.
I am 70 yrs old and I am new to card making and you are a great inspiration. Thanks
As a southern woman I do use waxed paper in my kitchen. I make biscuits and dumplings often and use this to roll the dough on. When I'm finished I can just roll the mess up in the paper and throw it away. I could use parchment but it's much more expensive. You can also use it for rolling cookie and pie pastry on.
Gina this card is so pretty and I love the Wax Paper technique and Gamsol. Tom your playing in the background is always so pretty when Gina is working...It's so relaxing and peaceful. Get better. Loved the tut Gina. pat
I watched your video on Stamp T.V. Years ago and made SOOOO many backgrounds. Once you get started, you can’t stop!!
I need to buy Hanna’s stamp set & die.
Thank you again Gina. So well done!!! Thank you Tom for the music. Nice to hear. Feel better soon.
Just putting the wax paper in the embossing folder and through the machine is pretty in it’s own right!!
Hi Gina n Tom get better soon!! Gina you knocked it out of the park again! I love this wax paper technique. I’m so glad when you visit techniques from the past. I have forgot about this wax paper technique. Oldie but goodie 👍🌈. Your backgrounds were all beautiful! I really loved the card. Gina don’t kiss Tom until he is better! 😆
This must be my favorite background EVER.
Scrapbooking is a fun hobby…. It is what got me into card making.
Beautiful card, and it is relaxing watching you colouring in .thank you Tom for background music. xx
Wow! I haven’t seen this technique for a long long long time! 20 years at least! Amazing the things we forget when new stuff comes along. I still remember before foam pads! We used to stick corrugated card together to raise stuff up!
Can you wash ink brushes with in soap and water
@@janicecrowe5277 I’m an oil painter and I clean my brushes in cool water with ivory soap. It’s natural and will keep your brush/sponge supple and they will last a Long time. And just an extra tip~ if you get a stain on clothing before adding any chemical or putting in wash use cool water & ivory soap. Wash spot, rinse, repeat. It may take a little bit but I’ve gotten blood out & blueberries out. I found that tip in a book of what women done yrs ago……it works. I hope the tips help.
I had forgotten about wax paper. Lovely card. So enjoy old techniques. Thanks for reminding this old gal
It’s 3:30 am and just scrolled into your room and have loved every minute of the wax paper embossing. Since I was a child, I knew what wax paper was and I’m 76! Wax paper is kind of a “staple” in my kitchen and craft room. It’s sold in most grocery stores etc.
Thank you for the lesson.
I have no idea when you’re on or from where you’re teaching!
Can you please let me know when you’re on and where are you filming from? ♥️🙏
Love the word for today! Great technique Gina. It is. Always a pleasure to watch you and listen to a relaxing guitar!🤗
SWEET !!! ❤ It’s my first time seeing this and I’m so excited to use this in my card making. Thank you, Gina. And I really enjoyed Tom playing the guitar!
I just want to say something other than stamping. You are really a beautiful person with a great smile. I really enjoy your videos as you are very thorough. Thankyou for your time and experience in providing us with all the really great products. I amaze my husband at times with what I have learned from you.
❤️❤️❤️
When I started watching your channel many moons ago I think you did this technique one time. I tried it, loved it, then forgot about it. I'm so happy you did this again. Thank you! Its lovely to watch videos where we can use what we have in our stash.
Oldie, but STILL a goodie as proven on this vid!
Thx, for sharing!! Terry in TX
Love the guitar. So relaxing.
I actually run an iron over wax paper to make it move more smoothly on fabric. Love this technique.
I am a child of the 50s and my mother used to wrap our sandwiches for our school lunch with wax paper. Then they came out with sandwich bags made from wax paper and then we finally got plastic wrap. It’s in the grocery store where all the sandwich bags and plastic wrap are.
Love the wax paper technique...so much you can do with it. Beautiful card Gina!!
YaaaY on the scrapbooking! I've been doing it for 25 years.

Sorry 😞 I missed your live today as I was having my teleahealth appointment at the same time as your live. My laptop even chimed at me and my Pain management specialist asked what was that? I said oh, I think I was being reminded that you were going live. I was like oops. But I really need to try this wax paper with embossing folders technique. Very adorable 🥰 card too. I am thinking of trying it on acetate too.
So very pretty! This technic is just as cool as embossing with embossing powder! It's magic! Congrats Linda! Great to see you. Be well, stay safe! Hope Tom is feeling better too!

I love the music in the background. Great job Tom.
Love that gamsol effect for shading. This is my first time being able to see that done. I had watched a different video on that and seeing the results on that one, decided not to mess with it. You are making that absolutely beautiful! That wax paper technique is beautiful too. Such nice soft effects! Ilove colored pencils and that card with the black matting is absolutely gorgeous and elegant! Thanks for the video.

They are fabulous, would make a beautiful wedding card back ground, thank you x
Beautiful. I love how you did this.
Hello from Ottawa,. Ontario, Canada. We have Cut-Rite Wax Paper in our grocery stores. It is a long-standing company as I remember my mom wrapping coins in this wax paper and putting it in our birthday cakes as a surprise when we were teens. Now she did warn us to watch for it when we ate the cake.... must be careful... I never did that and don't advise it, and when I had my son I did not carry on that tradition because it is not really a safe idea. I did use it for saving leaves like red and green maple leaves and silver birch leaves for craft projects.
Very nice! Love the background, and the flower cluster that covers a bit of the circle.
The aspect I like about faux batik paper is that it is very easy to mass produce because it is so easy to compartmentalize. You can emboss a whole bunch of wax paper and then come back iron it weeks later. You can iron the wax design on to cardstock and wait to ink it. I have some that is actually five years old from a card class and it still resists ink no problem.
Thank you for the great ideas for making different cards. Great job Gina.
Always looking for new ways to use my embossing folders. This is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it!
BTW…beautiful card! Beautiful colors!!
Thanks so much, Gina and Tom! I really enjoyed the demo and just love the look of embossing on the wax paper.
This was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Purple is one of my favorite colors! I'm definitely going to have to try this wax paper technique! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Wax paper will not hurt your iron it helps it slide on fabric. .Years ago if you had to clean a scorched iron you would clean it and then run it over wax paper to make it glide and then run it over a towel to clean off excess wax so wouldn’t transfer to clothing.
Thx so much 4 that tip!
There isn't enough wax on waxed paper any more to need to even run the iron over a towel to wipe the excess wax off.
Yes showing either age or memory for details. Age in my case still remember the smells from mom’s laundry & ironing day.
I remember doing that. 100 years ago. When I did that "I" word... LOL
Love this new idea with wax paper. Beautiful ❤️!!!
Sharon from Georgia
This is so good. Funny Ben Franklin thing, my cousin was just telling me they have a $10 off if you spend $40 this weekend right at the same time you were saying it when I was watching you! I’m in the UK and just back from my first vacation with them and we/I spent quite a bit in there lol time and money. Home Tom gets better soon. XX
Just saw this now Gina! Wow! Beautiful, I am going to try this. I may try to use my Cricut easy press. See if it works. I have no iron anymore. Lol
Great technique. Can’t wait to try it. I’ve crashed skiing loosing each piece of equipment along the way and we called that mess a yard sale. Nice to know there are like-minded people out there.
This is a beautiful card Gina! Fun technique with your gorgeous EFs. I’m eagerly awaiting my order that includes a couple! I hope Tom is already on the mend and that you don’t get sick too🤞🏻🙏🏻. Oh and from the bottom of my purple-loving heart, thank you for using purple:o)

Your card turned out gorgeous! Iam new to your channel and just subscribed. Wax paper has been around forever, most all grocery stores carry Wax paper is in the same aisle as cling wrap, Aluminum foil, freezer paper and others that most bakers use in the kitchen.

Lovely card Gina. Going to try this for sure. Watching replay. In fact a friend of mine said she wanted wax paper and couldn’t find any so I bought her 3 rolls, so I have plenty!! After my purchase she decided she really didn’t want it! Oh well. Tom feel better. Your playing is so soothing, love it.
My DIL doesn't like it at all. But I love wax paper and have used it for over 70 years just not for embossing.
