It's an awesome feeling when you can be the aircraft marshal, walk around, talk to the pilot's through the headset and wave them off, when you walk around the F 70 or the F 100 they are just an awesome aircraft

Hey Julia: This video proves that the Fokker F70/100 line sure are a pretty aircraft, no matter what they are doing. They are also definitely quieter than their predecessor; the F28. A few years ago, I was often working on the ramp at Dodoma, Tanzania's airport when that country's president was coming or going in his F28. I must tell you that when that bad-boy passed by only about 100 meters from me, it was well into its take-off roll. OMG! The sound pressure level of those RR Speys was somewhere between deafening and fatal! Good thing I had the hearing protectors on. 😂

It's a shame that Fokker went out of business. These are beautiful, superbly designed machines. Great fun to watch.

I would love to have a go at being an aircraft marshal. Just to be out there beside the aircraft and getting it out safely. The closest I ever got was over 20 years ago when Brisbane airport had the Airside tours with a mini bus taking us all around the parts of the airport that you never get to see. Of course 911 in the USA buggered all that up with all the new security protocols etc.
