I am a nerd who always considered style to be a trivial matter, so I never learned how to make good choices. But now that I’m in my 40s, I’m becoming more conscious of how my style determines how I carry myself and how other people view me - and how that impacts me as a professional. I appreciate how you explain what makes different choices flattering or unflattering so that I can judge things for myself rather than just relying on outfits selected by other people.
I am not petite myself Marie-Anne but I have to admit I really like those dresses for the petite ladies, and I feel I could easily wear these myself, I particularly love the navy and white polka dot one as I could be really casual with it or jazz it up for an evening with the addition of some jewellery. Thank you Marie-Anne for all your tips.
Sadly, this video points out the main problem I've found to look chic. I have absolutely no problem looking chic at work in elegant sheath dresses, but when I try to dress casually, I struggle. I wish more of the chic choices shown were more casual in style
Yes, please. Casual is the hardest for petites to keep from looking dumpy. My Lifestyle now seldom calls for dresses. Even dressier occasions in my area are pants appropriate. Upscale casual
Thank you for this! Those sheath dresses are beautiful, and the one with the ruching at the side was stunning. Great video for us petite women! Please do a video highlighting dos and don'ts for petites and pants/jeans/jackets. I feel I'm just too small to wear a blazer.
Thanks so much for the petite suggestions. As a lifelong 5’3” woman, I always rely on the kinds of cuts you’ve recommended despite sometimes wanting to wear something unflattering because it’s trendy and new.

Such good lessons. So easy to get caught up in all the things. I like the polka dot dress and also the style suggested for plus size. Polka dots, always a lean look and a favorite.
I had a VERY brief subscription to a particular "clothes in a box" service, and I am petite. The subscription service was supposed to tailor the box to a woman over 60, short, who hated ripped jeans with a passion. The only thing the service got correct was a lovely pair of Judy Blues, and a perfectly proportioned cardigan. Everything else- BAH! One of the most horrible was a black maxi dress with bright orange and pink lillies, made out of polyester double-knit from the 1970s. I could have made a tent out of it, it was so heavy and long! I tried three times, and every time, I sent back most of the box- the last box, EVERYTHING went back. I go shopping on my own, now. I remember the "petite rules" from my younger days that you so wonderfully illustrated here. MERCI! ❤
Me, too. I tried a different company this time and the stylist sent me a poofy-sleeved, smocked bodice, skintight with a ghastly print. I sent it back with a note: "This was in the style when I was in High School when I could wear it without a bra." Then I reminded her that I was 67 years old.
Thank you; so useful. I love the blue polka-dot shirt dress. I find it hard to get trousers the right length. Marks and Spencer’s short sizing used to be perfect for my 5ft 3” height, but recently they’ve made them two inches longer 😢 . I can shorten the hems but they never look as good afterwards. I love watching your videos and I love your sense of humour as well as super tips. 👏
Ooh, I really like that yellow sheath. The one after the pink frou frou one. BTW, I have a red dress in a classic wrap style and it is a knockout. It doesn't overwhelm me at all and it is cherry red. Anyone can wear a solid bright color that is in their pallette. You just have to have the confidence to "strut your stuff" in it.
Wonderful video with great styling advice, Marie-Anne. Even when I'm not petite myself I loved all your tips and suggested dresses, my favourite is the navy blue polka dot, it's so cute. Petite ladies can look so chic in them. Love your hair. Merci 🙏🏻⚘
Dear Marie-Ann, I'm a petite woman wearing a middle size, German 42-44, and I agree with you from the boddem of my heart. NO big prints, horizontal stripes, over whelming styled dresses, big sleeves etc. but I'm a Winter typ and wear intens colours, black and white, soft colours are not mine, even that I'm 70 and my hair is salt and pepper now. By the way thank you very much for your French styl tips, this year we go for three weeks in vacation near Fontainebleau. I promise I will take care to follow your advise for French chick ladies. I started to practise the French what I learned at school and was surprised to find out that I haven't forgotten that much as I expected and what is still "there". Many greetings from Germany near Berlin ❤
Love your recommendations for petite ladies. I am petite and love shirt dresses (have several) and several sheathes. Have always worn my skirts either right above or bellow the knee. Love your hairstyle and makeup by the way.
Thank God someone who could tell me how to dress all my life I’ve had a problem I’m under 5 feet and now I’m 73. It is hard to find petite dresses. Thank you I don’t know how you came on RUclips but I hope I did it right to save your sub
I liked the blue polka dot and green and white too. As for the sheath dresses, I have to wonder if I could find or afford the kind of shapewear I’d need to look even half that smooth and sleek.
I love both sheath dresses, both the Mauve and the Yellow. Fabulous! I agree with the person who made the comment about casual dress for petites, like jeans and tops. I find this years tops are too short and too wide and not keen on the wide leg jeans with ripped hems. Thanks for your wonderful advice!
I am very short - 5' and apple shaped. One style I found that works well for me is a garment with Dolman sleeves. The Dolman cut creates a loose waist but is more fitted around the hip so it doesn't look like a sack. I have one sweater like this where the sleeves are medium length and very fitted and I wear a long, soft, printed scarf with it. The scarf adds a long line down the front and camouflages the tummy. I have a summer top in a small print with the same kind of cut but a short cap sleeve . Again, the cut hides my big waist and the print also helps to distract the eye. I do have fairly square shoulders so that helps the garment hang well. I find that prints are much more flattering than a plain colour unless there is something like a scarf to distract the eye from my shape which is really the opposite of hourglass.
Great fun listening and thank you for acknowledging that petites also want to look chic. Unfortunately, fitted dresses (sans the billows) are often difficult to find in the right proportions.
The yellow dress is stunning! Wonder if it would accentuate my flabby arms? I also loved the hot pink no dress! I am 5’4” and love tiers but do realize a sheath dress looks so much better!
I think overdetailing has been an issue for my petite frame, a fit and flare was my go to.Thanks so much for highlighting that they are pretty but not a good choice. Now I find a more flattering look is the more fitted sheath dress and A line. My biggest problem is that I am bottom heavy, therefore I have to try many clothes on before finding the right fit, or altering the shoulder length. I am a extra small on top and small/medium in pants. I always appreciate your point of view.
I am getting into middle age and I am finding that sewing/tailoring skills would be powerful way to take control of my wardrobe (for all women). I wish I had learned. But, we are never too old to learn, so I will be making a new hobby of learning to hem this summer.
Merci beaucoup Marie-Anne! I'm at the tall end of petite at at a little over 162cm, with proportionately long legs, so it can be frustrating to shop as petite items are often just a bit too short in the sleeves, waist and inseam, but the regular model is a bit too long, lol. It was great to learn more about why the no-no styles you highlighted often don't quite work for me and now I know what to avoid. That said, I feel like a few of them *might* work if I have them shortened to a more flattering length, with the sleeves adjusted. Tailoring seems to be my fate no matter what, so this has been a good reminder not to settle for a silhouette that doesn't work "as is" - but would if only I had it altered for my own body!
Merci beaucoup Marie pour tes merveilleuses vidéos. Beaucoup des choses que vous suggérez correspondent à ce que je souhaite à quelqu'un depuis des années ! Je pense que tu es tout simplement magnifique, je t'adore !
❤Thank you Marie-Anne, I am 5", I love prints, but now I see, myself wearing more, neutral colors. I do make all my clothing, I particularly like my empire line dresses. They are the best.
Lovely styles. I love sheath dresses and anything classic but the sheath doesn’t work for me due to larger hip area. Seems all I can wear are A lines which are hard to find without the large prints. But thank you. I love the ruched dress. Its beautiful.
Bonjour Diana - as always you have to run the suggested styles through your own style filter - see what works and what doesn't 😃 and it sounds like you are doing just that 👏
My preference for clothing has been quite similar to yours. But, as a small lady in the USA, it can be a challenge to purchase well-made, well-sourced clothing. Banana Republic does have some nice petite clothes. Fortunately, I learned, when young, to alter clothing to assure better fit. In more recent years I've learned to knit, so order select wools and natural fibers and can make sweaters accordingly. It is always appreciated when you mention clothing sources for petite women.
Shorter length dresses are difficult to find for anyone less than 1.65m tall. M&S have shorter lengths but the styles are often not appropriate for petite women.
Beautiful and helpful styles and choices Marie-Anne! Unfortunately, even if I could order from LK Bennett the price of one dress is AUS$475!! Sorry but that’s completely out of my price range. I will look for a local “dupe” of the style though!! Thank you for the excellent information - you are the absolute best!
Bonjour Margaret, I totally appreciate your predicament and accept that the cost of that dress was probably outside the budget of very many of our French Chic Ladies. It is so difficult to find dresses to recommend people to buy that are of the right design, the right material and the right price! Yet as you say keep the guidelines in mind as you search for a similar dress in your budget 😃
Love Ruched and Ann Taylor dresses. However there are very few sizes in Ann Taylor and no petite left in any colour for ruched. It does give some great ideas of dresses to look out for and are mostly what I steer towards naturally, so it's great to know I'm doing the right thing
I love the blue bow front dress, but when I checked the site it is not a petite fit. At 4' 10" the waist would be in the wrong place, the sleeves too long, and the length mid calf or longer. The only site that I have found that has a wide range of plus petite sizes is Talbots, it is VERY hard to find clothes that fit in this size range which can be really frustrating......
Love the video! I'm petite at 150 cm but I have broad shoulders and big muscular arms! I do weight training and boulder climbing, and I absolutely love the toned physique. But, anything sleeveless just makes me look like a (mini) gladiator. I recently saw a twisted one shoulder top online. It looks lovely, but I'm not sure if it suits me.
I very much like the Ann Taylor sheath dresses, in fact, I have one! The style, though flattering, is a little stiff for my lifestyle. The shirt dresses are beautiful, however, I personally dislike puff sleeves. As a very petite woman, I find them a little cutsie- that could also be because I don’t have a long neck.
I'm 5'4" with a larger bust and slim hips and legs, so an inverted triangle 🔽. I tend to go for shift dresses and shirt dresses. I cantcwear those balloon sleeves or anything too fussy. I do like ruching which is flattering. Thanks Marie-Anne ❤
Bonjour Debra there is an important measurement missing from your body shape analysis which means you may be trying to dress for the wrong shape! Take this free course www.marieannelecoeur.com/shape-up-ecourse.html send me the measurements to info@marieannelecoeur.com and we can double check your bodyshape together 😘
Thank you! This was very helpful. I like the sheath dresses, but they are tough for apples. I have a shirt dress in sweater material that I was debating whether to keep. I think I will have another look at it based on what you shared here.
I really appreciate this as i'm 155cm. The think i stuggle with is, is I'm short in the body. I would really appreciate tips on pairing tops and bottoms (high waisted? Mid? To tuck, or not to tuck?)
Thank you Marie-Anne, some of this might apply to me but I don’t look particularly short. I’m about 5’3 and wear regular sizes since petite length sleeves and trousers are too short. Yet I know what you mean regarding the bold prints. I tried on a very noisy Boden dress and that was such a shock!
I need a suggestion Anne Marie please. I have a beautiful lace Anne Fontaine skirt that is a bit too long. It can’t be shortened at the hem as it is frilled and goes up in the centre. I’ve not worn it yet but it seems to look okay with the waist band turned over which shortens it. Is this acceptable or should I get it professionally shortened at the waist which to be honest looks rather difficult? Any ideas? Love your videos, you are my style guru.
Bonjour Janice - I think your approach is spot on 😃 you could try covering the turn over at the waist with a wide belt unless it ruins the look. A professional seamstress will be able to shorten it from the waist 😃
@@MarieAnneLecoeurThank you! A belt would be impossible, I’ll try turning the waistband over, if that doesn’t work I’ll take it to the dressmaker’s. Très désolée for getting your name wrong, I must’ve had a drink! 😲 🍷
I liked the blue and white polka dot dress, the lavender colored sheath and the cap sleeved dress. so flattering. I prefer my dress length to hit just below the knee and above the curve of the calf. I will definitely use these tips while selecting a new wardrobe. I'm petite-plus and have a short waist with long legs. I cannot wear high heels anymore due to an ankle injury but a kitten or short block heel will work I think. Also I like the converse casual shoes as they have a clean look to them and are fun. Marie-Anne~ what do you think of the metallic tennis shoes? Chic or non?
Could you do a video for a petite hourglass shape? So often I have to buy a smaller size to get a result that shows my waist, but then feel compressed in the bust.
I would look swamped in that blue dress at the end. My short and rounded body looks good in fit and flair dresses and, surprisingly, in closer fitted dresses, although I don't feel confident in them.
Even though I’m the complete opposite of this video being tall (5ft10) and mid sized all great tips as usual! Would love to see more mid - plus sized tips. ❤
Thank you very much for doing this video💗The blue dress for petite plus is perfect example I need to look for when I shop for clothes. I find it difficult to find outfits for the winter season. Kindly please help with that. 🥰
Love your advise on petite ,but I must admit I like big lose clothing as I don’t like fitted clothing on myself sometimes I do but most of my clothes are lose for comfort .thank you
I am petite and plus and sheath dresses look awful on me: they are too tight in the bust (I'm DD) and too large on the bottom. I used to be able to wear A-line skirts, but now that I'm over 50 and my body has changed, I can't wear those either because they make me look like I have scrawny legs. It really is a lot of work finding clothes that I like, and that look good on me, but it definitely is worth the effort. I love your saying: "If it's not a wow, it's a no." That's the truth!!
Bonjour Brick City Brown Chick - make sure you know your body shape above all else and as you say hold out for that Wow! and keep sharing your sage advice on your channel 😘
I'm petite (155cm or 5 ft 1). Also, DD. Have you tried wrap dresses? I find they're good because you can choose how much you cinch them in, they accommodate the girls and work in much the same way as a side ruched dress.
I have a chocolate brown dress like the yellow dress and a small checked blazer with tan ,brown and cream. And the trousers too match but they are too tight in the waist and too long so I will take the waist band off and fit a back binding waist from the cut off leg hems . And remove the pant lining.Plus I have chocolate pants too match the blazer. Thank you so much for sharing. The body does and don't.
I love all of your suggestions as a petite who was 5'3" but due to osteoporosis, I have lost 2 inches in height on my upper torso where no petite lady can afford to.(5'1"). I've always had long legs & wear high heeled pumps/sandals. I do have a navy cotton button-down dress with "large" white polka dots & matching belt on a flowy skirt. I wear leather belts to match the footwear and always stand up/walk/sit straight. Good posture makes a very big difference. I'm sure that some of my clothes will have to be shortened again, but I'm used to that. I have a white gold, button-down shift with 4 patch pockets that is the oerfect length. I wear gold Sezane pumps/sandals to it. I broke your rule last year with a black somewhat flowy button down dress, which makes me look like a sack. However, when I bought it, I knew that I would wear my black/Siena brown silk Obi tied to the side topped off with a gold chain/unique key chain lock for more accents. I have a waffle Siena wool long sweater that matches the Obi & gold foot wear. I also have a black/white window pane duster which allows me to wear black/white pumps or silver footwear/belts, jewelry. Putting a belt/sash or a lengthy scarf around the waist, shortens a dress, draws the eye to the body frame in its entirety, but high heels enable petites to pull off alot of looks. I would also recommend sleeveless, double-breasted trenchcoat dresses which are flattering with a belt. I wear a copper-colored leather belt to make it more elegant instead of the trench-stylre belt it came with. I had the same dress in black, but tailoring can't give me 3 more inches. I have shortened summer skirts by having them shortened &/or by removing the waist band. Yes, good tailoring is extremely expensive, but it adds many years of additional wear for the garment. MARIE-ANNE, YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!!??❤❤❤❤😂
Bonjour Ms A - I am so glad you enjoy it 😃 I try only to put in French where the context makes it obvious and sometimes we don;t have time to put in the subtitles due to time constraints but I will see what I can do x
@@MarieAnneLecoeur That would be fabulous MarieAnne. The main issues I've found with it are: fabric that doesn't make you overheat & perspire. Being able to go to the loo without a full undress or being a contortionist. Looking good at the back as well as the front. I would really be interested to see what French ladies prefer. I do not mind paying for some good quality..but which pieces are an investment? Thank you so much. Your knowledge & presentation style are excellent. 🙏🙏💞
Thank you for the great tips. I live the blue polka dot shirt dress! I am petite plus and have an apron belly but think this would still work with right sizing?
I love your channel and although I agree that your advice is always excellent, can I suggest that it is possible to break the rules. I have a problem with a scar just below my knees so unless l wear leg makeup or uncomfortable tights, l need to cover this up so longer length works best on me. Also if the dress comes scaled-down as in many petite ranges, you can steer away from sheath or shirt waist styes, which personally l find rather uncomfortable and l think can look bit staid. If you feel good in something, even if it does break the rules, you wear it with confidence, and it will work for you.
It is always possible to break the rules Mary 😃 you just have to know how and when 😃 the concept of intelligent design in style allows a thoughtful process to discover new and exciting possibilities 👏 and is why it is endlessly exciting and gets me out of bed every morning 🙌
I’m just 1.5in taller than petite, but always look better if I treat myself as petite. Only so many of these styles don’t work for me because I’m top heavy. That’s my challenge. My top is a different size than my bottom. So dresses (and especially any that are slim cut on top like many sheath dresses) can really be a challenge.
If you are top heavy look for tops that have a v neck as mentioned in the video NRG - you can also watch here ruclips.net/video/eLRgp3lTrGQ/видео.html 😘
Thanks for doing this video for petites over 50. I'm very petite (5'0" and about 85 lbs) with a pear-shaped body, and it's hard to find clothes that are attractive and fit me well. In addition to my height and body shape, I also consider color when buying clothing. I think that I look at least 10 years younger (and much healthier) in a blouse that's navy, bright pink or true red than one in ivory, orange or mint green. I really love that navy polka dress you showed, but it starts in size 2 and I wear 00 :(
I will be 70 years old next year. I’m 4’10” tall and weigh 96-97 pounds. Leg inseam is 26”. It is incredibly hard to find pants that fit me properly. I’m not very good at sewing and hemming pants is difficult for me. So far Talbots clothing shirts and tops work very well but their pants not so much. Their smallest petite size is usually too big in the waist and they don’t offer too many pants with a shorter inseam, even in petite. 🤦🏻♀️ It is so frustrating! I learned long ago that A Line dresses, sheath and wrap dresses worked very well for my frame. Those are the ones I would always gravitate towards. Good video! 😊
All these tips work for me as a petite curvy pear who have slimmer upper bodies and want to minimise our lower bodies - fit and flare, avoid boxy shapes, smaller prints, monochrome or singular colour vertically… but those with an apple shape body who have larger upper bodies and want to emphasise their slimmer lower bodies may have different slimming needs - but you still want to lengthen the leg with a high waist and look for your narrowest part under your bust for that hourglass shaping but bottoms can perhaps go more fitted in profile…
Thank you for including petite plus size. More please.
😘
Yes. Sheath dresses seldom work for me - my meno tummy just ruins it, and I am often one size smaller from the waist up.

Merci et joiyeuses pâques❤
Thank you for the tips, Marie-Anne ☺️👍👍
You are so welcome Joyce x
My absolute favorite, the ruched dress! I love the color too!
❤️
Navy blue satin shirt..❤️❤️❤️ That’s my favourite babe. 🌹

Keeping it simple could really help Emily 👍
I am getting into middle age and I am finding that sewing/tailoring skills would be powerful way to take control of my wardrobe (for all women). I wish I had learned. But, we are never too old to learn, so I will be making a new hobby of learning to hem this summer.
Exactly right Shushy 😃 I wish my sewing skills were better 😘
A good seamstress can do wonders Sparklie and there is always on line tailoring such as with Sumissura
Happy Easter, Marie Anne! that blue, silky blouse you are wearing is beautiful!
Merci Lucja and a Happy easter to you too 🙏
Merci beaucoup Marie pour tes merveilleuses vidéos. Beaucoup des choses que vous suggérez correspondent à ce que je souhaite à quelqu'un depuis des années ! Je pense que tu es tout simplement magnifique, je t'adore !
Merci Jackie x
Thank you. Would you please discuss plus size mother of the bride/groom dresses? Merci beaucoup.
I will see what I can do Lisa x
❤Thank you Marie-Anne, I am 5", I love prints, but now I see, myself wearing more, neutral colors. I do make all my clothing, I particularly like my empire line dresses. They are the best.
You are very welcome Martha 😃 you have a great skill - look for patterns that follow the style guidelines and you will have an amazing wardrobe 😃
Lovely styles. I love sheath dresses and anything classic but the sheath doesn’t work for me due to larger hip area. Seems all I can wear are A lines which are hard to find without the large prints. But thank you. I love the ruched dress. Its beautiful.
Bonjour Diana - as always you have to run the suggested styles through your own style filter - see what works and what doesn't 😃 and it sounds like you are doing just that 👏
Happy Easter.
And to you Happy x
I wasn't petite but I've shrunk with age, now I'm feeling that I need to change my style so I don't feel so dumpy and frumpy
Style is a journey never a destination 😃
Love the great advice and the yellow sheath too!
💛
My preference for clothing has been quite similar to yours. But, as a small lady in the USA, it can be a challenge to purchase well-made, well-sourced clothing. Banana Republic does have some nice petite clothes. Fortunately, I learned, when young, to alter clothing to assure better fit. In more recent years I've learned to knit, so order select wools and natural fibers and can make sweaters accordingly. It is always appreciated when you mention clothing sources for petite women.
I understand the difficulty Sylvie - but never settle on anything less than a Wow 😃
Shorter length dresses are difficult to find for anyone less than 1.65m tall. M&S have shorter lengths but the styles are often not appropriate for petite women.
Banana Republic have great petite sizing
It is always necessary to check designs and style Catherine - just because it fits does not mean it suits!
Your hair looks great. I am tall but found this informative and helpful.
Merci Golda - the principles will certainly work for taller girls as well 😃
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Merci, MarieAnne. :)
The sheath is the best
Exactly Shirley - take the principles and make your own discoveries 😃
This is very helpful. Thank you!
Cleo petites
I am sorry about that Frances - I can't understand that maybe they ran out of stock 🙁 it often happens when I show something
Love the polka dot and the yellow dresses, my issue is that I am petite with a large bust 38dd and 4’9”
Aim to add a v neck to the style Renee but nothing too deep!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I have always worn v necks… they work
Hello Marie-Anne,
Can you please one day do a video on peplum tops and peplum jackets and whether petits can wear it?
I will see what I can do for you x
@@MarieAnneLecoeur 🤍 jippee, I have all notifications on. Thank You
@@MarieAnneLecoeur 💃
Love the video! I'm petite at 150 cm but I have broad shoulders and big muscular arms! I do weight training and boulder climbing, and I absolutely love the toned physique. But, anything sleeveless just makes me look like a (mini) gladiator. I recently saw a twisted one shoulder top online. It looks lovely, but I'm not sure if it suits me.
Check your bodyshape 18751 if you are an inverted triangle you will have specific style goals 😃
I'll do that. Merci, @@MarieAnneLecoeur !
Hello Madam. Thank you for sharing and your inspirations. Happy Easter to you and your family 🙏🏾❤️.
Merci Mary and to you and yours 🙏
Where have you been all my life? I am blessed to have seen this app.
🤗
I very much like the Ann Taylor sheath dresses, in fact, I have one! The style, though flattering, is a little stiff for my lifestyle. The shirt dresses are beautiful, however, I personally dislike puff sleeves. As a very petite woman, I find them a little cutsie- that could also be because I don’t have a long neck.
👍
I have specific advice for apple/plus sized ladies at the end CG - follow that advice and you will be fine 😃
The side wrap neck for thin! This is within my style guide limes. ❤
I really appreciate this as i'm 155cm. The think i stuggle with is, is I'm short in the body. I would really appreciate tips on pairing tops and bottoms (high waisted? Mid? To tuck, or not to tuck?)
Watch here Wendy ruclips.net/video/WAJkYLcldxU/видео.html 😘
Thank you Marie-Anne, some of this might apply to me but I don’t look particularly short. I’m about 5’3 and wear regular sizes since petite length sleeves and trousers are too short.
Yet I know what you mean regarding the bold prints. I tried on a very noisy Boden dress and that was such a shock!
The principles will work Karen 😃
I am petite but have a big tummy. Tight dresses do not work for me.
That is exactly why I emphasise tailored Rebecca 😃
I have some gold sneakers Christy 😉
Could you do a video for a petite hourglass shape? So often I have to buy a smaller size to get a result that shows my waist, but then feel compressed in the bust.
Try purchasing the larger size and visit your tailor to take in the waist. 😊
I will see what I can do Helen x
I like the sheath dresses. I would like the polka dot shirt dress if it had a longer and/or narrower sleeve.
I would look swamped in that blue dress at the end.
My short and rounded body looks good in fit and flair dresses and, surprisingly, in closer fitted dresses, although I don't feel confident in them.
I like your hair and your chic red lipstick!
💋
Even though I’m the complete opposite of this video being tall (5ft10) and mid sized all great tips as usual! Would love to see more mid - plus sized tips. ❤
I will see what I can do Belle x
Lovely information. Do you have a video for tall women and plus size tall? Happy Easter!
I do Tina! I will see if I can out it into a video 😘
Forgot to mention I’m only 4 ft 11 but only like loose clothing ,thank you .good advise too
Thank you very much for doing this video💗The blue dress for petite plus is perfect example I need to look for when I shop for clothes. I find it difficult to find outfits for the winter season. Kindly please help with that. 🥰
I have videos for the winter season Christina 😃
I buy to fit my bust and then have the leg area tapered to fit me. Not all of us are standard sizes and good tailoring makes a huge difference.
Please do one for tall apple shape plus size
I have a chocolate brown dress like the yellow dress and a small checked blazer with tan ,brown and cream. And the trousers too match but they are too tight in the waist and too long so I will take the waist band off and fit a back binding waist from the cut off leg hems . And remove the pant lining.Plus I have chocolate pants too match the blazer. Thank you so much for sharing. The body does and don't.
You are very welcome Betty x
I would also recommend sleeveless, double-breasted trenchcoat dresses
which are flattering with a belt.
Merci Pearl x
Love the little bits of French you speak as I’m trying to pick up more French. Is it possible you could put a subtitle in English?
Bonjour Ms A - I am so glad you enjoy it 😃 I try only to put in French where the context makes it obvious and sometimes we don;t have time to put in the subtitles due to time constraints but I will see what I can do x
It’s probably obvious to everyone but me ☺️
Please can you do a video class on shape wear? Thank you
I will see what I can do Selina x
@@MarieAnneLecoeur That would be fabulous MarieAnne. The main issues I've found with it are: fabric that doesn't make you overheat & perspire. Being able to go to the loo without a full undress or being a contortionist. Looking good at the back as well as the front. I would really be interested to see what French ladies prefer. I do not mind paying for some good quality..but which pieces are an investment? Thank you so much. Your knowledge & presentation style are excellent. 🙏🙏💞
It would be nice to find a store who sells clothes like these
It is a question of keeping the requirements in mind when you are shopping MJ 😃 hold out for the Wow!
Thank you for the great tips. I live the blue polka dot shirt dress! I am petite plus and have an apron belly but think this would still work with right sizing?
I am sure it would Rosemarie x
J’Dore the Navy polka dot dress, Marie-Anne!🙋♀️🇺🇸🥰‼️

This is great, thank you❤
I’m just 1.5in taller than petite, but always look better if I treat myself as petite.
I would love to see a video about dressing for business. (I often have to wear suits for court.)

@@MarieAnneLecoeur Thanks!
So we're is the list for the dresses. It doesn't show ony screen. Would like to know where to shop for petite plus woman
It is in the description Kay
Thanks for doing this video for petites over 50. I'm very petite (5'0" and about 85 lbs) with a pear-shaped body, and it's hard to find clothes that are attractive and fit me well. In addition to my height and body shape, I also consider color when buying clothing. I think that I look at least 10 years younger (and much healthier) in a blouse that's navy, bright pink or true red than one in ivory, orange or mint green. I really love that navy polka dress you showed, but it starts in size 2 and I wear 00 :(
Colour is so important Sheila - watch here ruclips.net/video/cetbMp2bhfw/видео.html 😘
These are really great!
😘
Good video! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Ouiser x
All these tips work for me as a petite curvy pear who have slimmer upper bodies and want to minimise our lower bodies - fit and flare, avoid boxy shapes, smaller prints, monochrome or singular colour vertically… but those with an apple shape body who have larger upper bodies and want to emphasise their slimmer lower bodies may have different slimming needs - but you still want to lengthen the leg with a high waist and look for your narrowest part under your bust for that hourglass shaping but bottoms can perhaps go more fitted in profile…
I am glad these work for you Rebecca for different shapes I have different advice 🙂
