Added a new Apple CarPlay ISO Double Din stereo to my nephew & son's VW Golfs Mark 5. Didn't realise there was an issue with these older Golf's & the Canbus and a battery drain led to a car that wouldn't start. After a quick search on RUclips I found this fantastic video and I was easily able to make a couple of these fuse rigs which completely solved the problem. It was also a lot easier than having to take out the stereo, cutting into the stereo wiring harness and running a wire behind the dashboard & across to the cars interior fusebox to hook up to a switched live fuse. So thanks a million for a very useful and well explained video.

Terrific video. I installed the RCD330 unit (and steering controls adaptor plug) in a 2006 GTI and had the dreaded battery drain issue. The fuse box in the GTI is a different layout than the one in this video. I used the (open slot) top pin in F27 and the right pin in F19 for my connections. Everything works perfectly with zero battery drain now. Thank you ARC Garage.
