Great find and fix, I’m liking the alldata diagrams etc. It looks better than Autodata & might have to purchase 🤔🤔 👍👍

On many models of Skoda, the service schedule calls for replacement of that alarm horn every five or six years but on the rest of the VAG group there’s no mention of it even although the same part is used right across much of the range. I’ve seen one once that had caught fire and burned itself out due to lack of oxygen up in that corner.

Top job as always. 50 mA is totally fine, I think the customer will be able to live without an alarm horn as long as their golf starts on the button again.

I have a 2005 Jetta w/parasitical draw. What tools do I need to troubleshoot? Seems like the AC/DC mini clamp meter was the main tool. Shops near me don't want to deal with this (or are booked for several weeks). Note: horn doesn't work and there's an airbag warning so it can't even be legally driven

🤔Cant you just remove just remove the wiring plug to the alarm 🔊to save having to drill out the tamper proof fixings? Also on my Mk6 using a VAGCOM you can disable the alarm 🔊if that cuts power to the horn then it should possibly have the same effect as removing it?
