    Well, this in the aggregate looks intriguing!

    I just built this kit. The saucer broke on me 3 times in multiple pieces, the left side nacelle snapped on me at the rear in 2 places after I mounted it. The body itself came apart and split down the side. I went through hell putting this together. But I didn’t give up. I think it has to do with the clear plastic being brittle. Because I have a kit that is in the gray plastic from 1995 that I am making the “future all good things” enterprise and it’s not breaking at all. I bought a set of the Aztec decals and it came out great. Just finished it on Wednesday. Wish I could send a pic on here of all the breaks I encountered and how I fixed them the best I could and a pic of the final product.

      Yeah, the clear styrene is much more brittle than the usual opaque styrene. The upper saucer part for this build has a small crack at the back from applying pressure while sanding the raised details away. Drilling holes can be risky too, you have to start small and work up to the final drill size to avoid splitting

    I love technology... from the clear parts to the vinyl aztec templates to the computer running lights and sound... Can't wait to see it all come together!

    Fantastic work, ill purchase your vinyls thanks for offering them to the public. I went on drilling out all windows on the opaque kit and it took forever and removeing the raised details that need to be painted. Keep on the fantastic work. Still got the Nebula class from DLM, the Defiant clear parts and the photo etch phaser strips , so bad he passed away. BTw are you the often wrong soong that made this fantastic enterprise d a few years ago?

      Yep, I used to post in a few online forums as Often Wrong Soong. One of my Enterprise D builds was on the Starship Modeler forum years ago, before everything migrated to Facebook groups

    I've got this kit in the stash. When I get to it - I'm likely to try and pick up some/all of your parts. Do you ship to the states? Thanks and looking forward to watching this build!

    I have watched all 5 of your videosI can see where your going & enjoyed them I wish there were more of them , I must though with so much material sanded off was their any structural integrity issues at all ?.

    • @MotionPictureMiniatures
      @MotionPictureMiniatures  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks, I'll get back to it one day! The kit parts are quite thick, sanding all the features away only removes a fraction of the overall thickness so causes no strength issues

    I found your page after seeing Captain's Drydock's review of your parts. Looking forward to watching all of these videos and getting some more inspiration to finish my clear Enterprise D and All Good Things future Enterprise as well. Would love to get those parts as well but I am not on Facebook do you have an e-mail account or Instagram account that I can get in contact with you through?

    Purchased this set, the only issue I had was the warp engine inserts, they just did not fit, I worked on them for two days and just gave up. :(

    • @MotionPictureMiniatures
      @MotionPictureMiniatures  Год назад +1

      Are you referring to the grilles? They're the trickiest parts to get to fit, the nacelle body parts need some careful trimming where the grilles flare out. I'm thinking about re-tooling the parts to further improve accuracy and make them easier to work with
