Nice job so far on a tricky kit to get right. Just for your information the DLM parts are available again from Lake Monster Details only with improvements! So, for example, the front nacelle piece you have is actually slightly short but the new versions have been lengthened which makes things a bit easier! The nav dish is now clear and has more accurate detailing for the light around the side etc. Having tried many solutions for the saucer windows I actually finally resorted to the kit pieces but I moved one of the ports to make it more screen accurate. As you have noted, none of the options for the windows on this kit are accurate - not the original parts, and none of the after markets parts I have come across (Paragrafix, Green Strawberry and Shapeways) and often they do not fit as well as the original kit pieces anyway. So, as I say, I gave up and modified the original parts slightly - looks good enough without too much hassle! Looking forward to how this progresses.
Thanks, still a long way to go but it'll get there. It wasn't worth the extra expense getting another set of resin parts, it would cost a small fortune getting them over here to th UK so using what the client already had on hand and modifying where necessary was the better option. If/when I do another one of these a full set of DLM/Lakemonster parts will be on the list 👍
Greetings! I just happened upon your build series. I have just begun this build with the exact same parts. Perhaps this is covered in a later video, but I was hoping to see how you resolved the alignment and symmetry between subassemblies, especially the nacelle struts. Any technique, or just eyeballing? Thanks!
I just eyeballed the alignment as best I could. The kit has so many fundamental issues, trying to get absolute perfect alignment is impossible, just do the best you can
Willow is gorgeous! What a lovely kitty cat!
Ha! Yeah, she's bad tempered but gets away with it, can't stay mad at her 😆
Excellent update! Looking forward to learning all about making new parts in the next episode!
It'll be more of a basic primer than a full-on "how to", but hopefully it'll be of some interest 🤞
You are already turning this into a work of art. Thanks for sharing mate I’m following closely
Thanks 👍 This kit is known for being terrible but hopefully I can roll it in enough glitter to make it shine 🤞
I'll definitely be following this build! Love your work and the insights into how to build a better version of this classic old kit.
Thanks 👍 We'll see how it turns out together 😎

Are you not continuing with your enterprise D?
I will be yes, but I need to make up for lost time on this commission build first. Plus, it's good to have some videos not related to the D 😄👍
Loosing good.
