81 is consistent. I’ve used them for 10 years. 57 I’ve got coming inside. Custom build. It seems to be the most expressive. Highlights picking dynamics best. Het set is like a 57 having an affair with an 81. Seems to be similar to 57 but more presence due to ceramic magnet. All can be tweaked to sound however you want with EQ.
thanks for the video( and megadeth riff) 57/66 set I'm gonna buy! I needed a replacement set for my 81-85 set and was debating between the hetset and 57/66. The hetset just isn't for me.
Emg 81and emg jh have cramic magnet its good for high distortion and low tuning make it more clarity than emg 57 but in overdrive channel it has noisy tone than 57. And emg 57 has alnico 5 magnet is good for all around music it more bassy warm than 81 and jh, but it will moody with high distortion and fast riffs
Well thank you so much for this. Always wanted to try the other emgs. I like the JH the best. It's like you showed them in the order where they just kept getting better. So yea man the 81 does not sound as good after hearing the 57 and the JH. My next set will be the JH set. Thanks again man.
Excellent job man. I think you really did a few things the OTHER vids didn't really do well like the multi track stuff. I own the 57 and JH sets. I like them both for different reasons...I think YOUR amp made me prefer the 57 set but on my line 6 crappy solid state I prefer the JH as of right now.
I'm like… 99% sure that the Het Set is just a rebranded version of the 57-66 set. Or the other way around. I noticed pretty much no difference between the two. But they still sound great, imo better than the 81. Not that the 81 is bad, but it's kind of static-sounding. Sounds sort of white-noisey, and it's also criminally overused by metal players today. Thanks for the video!
I used to think that, but, i find the 57 and JH bridge, different. The 57 seems to have more or less the same output than the 81, but has more mids. The JH is the loudest of them, it sounds agressive as well. I'd say the 57 is probably a bit more like an 85...
The JH(bridge) uses ceramic(James used the 81 which is ceramic, for years) whereas the 57 uses alnico V. Both use steel pole pieces. You can tell the JH has considerably more output. Makes sense that the 57 would be a bit like the 85 they both use the same type of magnet.
James hetfield gave info about what sound he wanted to emg, and emg made a few different versions the one he chose became the het set and the 57 66 became one of the versions he didn't pick but was still good
JH. Getting them installed in an ESP LTD EC1001 Tiger Eye next week. I can't flippin' wait. Excellent video!
Thank you very much! :)

Good job - I like all of these for different reasons
Thank you :)
Looking forward to watching 60 vs 66 vs het set
I don't have a 66 though, but i guess i'll make the 60 vs Het Set neck
Nice Saigon Kick LIOTW... Their guitarist Jason Beiler was in my 7th grade art class.. ; )
wow! Very cool :)

0:40 clean
6:33 distorted

You're Welcome :)
81 was my favorite which is sick cause I get mine next week!!!
Buena comparación.
gracias!
I like very much these comparations. Keep on doing these!
nightrainnnn🤘
Good video!!! In order 81, jh, 57
Bloody good video. Thank you.
You're welcome :)
JH is like a 57 but without bottom end, like the 81. It´s a nice sound for precise metal riff, like JH does.
I prefer the jh🤘
Are these all creed riffs?
Sounds beautiful bro
I have the 57/66 set
Hi. Creed? No, they are from several famous bands, but not Creed
@@megahurtz30 can you tell me the both between 3:08 and 5 minutes?
@@remuslycan6473 the first one is Children Of The Damned from Iron Maiden, the one at 5 min is Love Is On The Way, from Saigon Kick
@@megahurtz30 sounds like night train from Guns n roses

Thank You :) Yes, the 57 and JH are probably the ones in here that are the most different from each other
81 and JH sound too similar. both sound really scooped where the 57 doesnt
Try 81 at 18v vs JH...
Yes indeed ! That is something i want to try eventually
@@megahurtz30 I've never tried JH, but the difference between 81 at 9 vs 18v is night and day!
I dont hear much difference between 81 and Jh set............. 57 is quiet different
That het set is fat and meaty, I love it
I feel stupid. But what’s the riff at around 9:50?
Hey no worries, i only heard and learned that song not too long ago. It's: Silvera, by Gojira
So which set did you stick with?
Currently i'm using the JH for a cover song i'm doing.

Het set is 60 in the bridge and 81 on the neck

@@disengagetattoos5074 none of this is even close to correct.
Well, the 81 lost, at least.
