Bro I was also dealing with a two week skunk missing good bites where I live and I decided to go to central Jersey with my buddy in a gnarly storm and Wednesday and we stumbled into the bite of a lifetime, we were averaging 24-33 sized fish every other cast. When this fall is on it’s great. When it’s not it’s brutal. Good luck out there brother

Yo Dillon I had a similar experience with white Shads. Hits here and there. Switch to a metal lip. Shit was fire. IMO way better under those conditions. Nice vid pal

I had the blessing of catching my first striped bass ever on Sunday. 20 pounder not bad for my first ever especially from the beach, I’m definitely hooked and I hope the season doesn’t end any time soon
Just look up the season period for stripers in your area
For where I'm at it's March til may then stripers venture out to the ocean where I am. The latest they'd stay in the river early to mid June the latest

Hi there i'll prob use swimbait/paddle tail bait too in similar area (sandy beach) do you straight retrieve or pause / let it bounce on the bottom too?
Ideally retrieve at different speed pretty fast one?
@Dillon dude, you should do more striper videos for sure. I don't get to go saltwater fishing sadly but I like the striper videos. I know you can catch stripers in lakes and rivers though.

Love your passion for fishing, I live up here in Maryland 15 minutes from the Chesapeake Bay have you ever finished up here at Sandy Point ??people have caught some huge cows here man striped trophy size, right off the beach, Sandy Point state park Md is basically right under the Bay Bridge in Maryland you ought to come up here sometime and try it not far from Jersey check out some RUclips videos on Sandy Point Maryland on the stripers trophy size.

The easiest way to not ruin your reel (as you state at 8:17) is to not lay it in the sand. If you have to drop the rod stick the butt end into the sand. If you have to lay it down drop a hat or rag or something to rest it on.
Just bring a PVC Tube , aka home made Rod Spike .drill a hole , lanyard thru,..and hang it on your belt until you get to the beach , it can even be lightweight PVC , because you are not bait Fishing with it , just using it to Rest your Rod, vertically. I used one when I have 2 Rods I want to bring and swap out , so there is no down time tying Leaders when the bite is on.
Was going to subscribe until I saw how he abused a $600 reel and likely an expensive rod. No real fisherman abuses his equipment the way he does regardless of the bite!

Or eventually, you can get a quality boat to develop as a striper captain brother I'm sure you'd enjoy that. There's your friend who's a captain that can help you get started, Dillon there's many options you can go for. Just saying this because I know how much you love fishing. If circumstances were different for me I know I'd go for these things for sure 😎
