  • This video will teach you how to make a simple beaded stretchy bracelet using seed beads and stretchy string. It will also teach you how to tie stretchy bracelets so that they don't come apart.

    Beadalon makes these really thin big-eye needles made by basically twisting really thin wire together but with a big needle eye. They work great with 0.5mm elastic and will still go through an 11/0 size seed bead. FYI.

    I have those exact same clips. I also use mini clothes pins, those little metal "clicky barrettes ", and metal alligator paper clips to hold my string. You chose beautiful color combos,I may borrow them. I enjoy making these bracelets and donating them to little kids in the hospital. This is a great video, thank you for sharing!

    Tying is the most important step…so glad you showed that! This type of cord is silicone and unlike plastic, it cannot be sealed by burning the ends. I just finished a bracelet on leather laces, also .5mm, but found this packet of seeds and have the stetchy cord so I will be working on this bracelet. Thanx…

    I’m starting to get into making seed bead bracelets. This was helpful. I like to add letters to my bracelets too. I always make bracelets for my boyfriend but they come apart easily & this was helpful 😁 I need to buy .5mm string tho

    if you want to know how to know how to put an elastic through a needle, you can just tie a piece of thred onto one of the ends, get it through, and pull really hard :)

    Where can I get the elastic string you used? I've seen some others, but they did not have great reviews.

      So I'm pretty sure they stopped selling it, which made me sad, but I've started using this elastic string (I'll add a link so you can see it) and it has actually worked really well for me for seed bead bracelets so far.     Any recommendations on how to hide the know your 11mm seed beads and 0.5 mm stretchy cord? I find that I cannot squish the know through the hole of the bead and so am left with a kink on the bracelet.

      It's just a mini paint pallette that I found in the craft section of walmart :) It came with a pack of 4 and I love mine and use them for everything! I'd assume you could find them at any craft store as well. Thanks for watching my video! :)

    I didn't see you pre-stretch the elastic string. I thought you were supposed to do this to strengthen it and so that it wouldn't stretch out after multiple wears. Can you clarify? Thanks!

      That's why I like to add a dot of superglue to the knot when I'm finished tying it before I cut the excess off. Mine have never come apart when I do it this way!

      I buy mine from Hobby Lobby, you can get them at almost any craft store and sometimes Walmart has them!

      I will try to come up with a solution and I'll let you know! If you can find a bead to put over it that always works well but it will probably need to be a bigger size

      You could try a crimp cover - they come in small sizes.

      It depends on what kind of beads you buy, or you can use clear nail polish to glaze your beads. That works better with bigger beads though :)

      I’m so sorry I never answered this! I have been trying out different elastic string brands but I find that as long as i get a thinner elastic string the knot will stay without glue. If you use thicker elastic you want super glue! Sorry again for the late response

      @@KennasDaisies thank you.! This is helpful. I do have a thin elastic string I think it’s 2mm & the knot still doesn’t stay so I bought jewelry super glue but I haven’t tried using it on the knot.

    Am I the only one who’s hand starts hurting really bad while putting the beads on?? Does anyone have any tips to stop it from hurting

      Don't squeeze the beads so hard, and the more you do it the less it should hurt. Sorry about my slow response, I've had a really busy time with graduation, but I hope your hands have stopped hurting so much 🥰

      There are special bead needles that you can use the put the beads on. It much easier that way.

    girl i just followed your tutorial step by step and the second i tied it on the bitch broke and all the beads fell off!! i put so many knots in and my shit still broke

      Maybe try a different brand of elastic! Some hold knots better than others... I'm so sorry that yours broke!
