    Do any of these ice cream shops remain open during Winter? When I still lived in beautiful Montreal, all the Dairy Queens and the family-owned ice cream parlours would close, and if we ever wanted soft-serve, we'd have to drive down to Plattsburgh on the weekend. (This was before McDonald's began serving ice cream.)

      Yes some of them stay open! But you’d have to verify on Google or their website. Kem Coba for example shuts down during the winter.

      @@DiscoverMontréal It's not in a very touristy area (near Outremont metro, but I think they've expanded to other places), so you might have a hard time finding youtuber videos featuring them. I grew up living not too far and I remember they closed for the winter on Nov 1st, so on Halloween night, if you showed up in a costume, you got free ice-cream or sorbet. The line was always huge. Fond memories!
