Yeah indeed. A lot of things were forced. I feel that was the same way for some other expansions. I guess it is also the nature of the game. Progress for players need to be made and people get hyped about defeating big names. I can only imagine if the same team that made Classic and TBC were able to make that game in 2020. If they could make it like the current expansions storywise with the cutscenes (but leave gameplayer as it was back then). That would have been amazing!
I feel that TBC was lacking some storytelling. They had a lot of opportunities to interact Illidan with Malfurion and Tyrande, we could've find more of the Alliance that travelled through the Dark Portal before. And just like WoD, I thought that could've been more impact on Azeroth than pre expansion world bosses, dungeons and quests
When I got to 70 it was on WOTLK, I couldn't enjoy much of the expansion, though. This might be one of the reasons I was do confused and thought I lacked storytelling too
Apparently Blizz didn't really expect WoW to last as long as it has, and figured it'd stop being profitable after LK. They decided to kill off a number of characters, Kael'thas included, because they didn't expect to really have an opportunity to continue a story with him and figured he'd just make for a cool raid boss. Ironically, now that Activision is slowly strangling the life out of WoW, characters like Illidan and Kael'thas are being brought back. Watching this though, I forgot how polite and respectful Kael'thas was in WC3.
I don't think Kael'thas was ever arrogant in The Frozen Throne, though he did become overly ambitious despite having fewer elves during his time in Garithos' renegade faction and in Outland. When Illidan promised Kil'jaeden he will destroy the Frozen Throne, Kael'thas readily joined him. For him to be truly arrogant means he should have been like that from the start: like his father who withdrew his nation from the Alliance, Kael'thas would not have joined, Garithos or not. He wouldn't even have studied in Dalaran, where there were humans. I still wondered whether Illidan should have taken Fel Orc clans with him against the Scourge?
They ruined Kael'thas in TBC, but they ruined him even more in SL. They had the chance to redeem him, and while yes, the Accuser says he's redeemable, I mean *redeem* in the sense that his motivations and good will for his people are put to the foreground, not made up bad traits. But no, they fault him for everything that is _stereotypically_ Thalassian (from the Belf jokes etc). And I agree, most of his character was basically the opposite of "arrogant". He was naturally proud, obviously, he was High Elven royalty after all. It is ridiculous to hold that against him, especially when in most of his actions he was actually more submissive and serving than arrogant. I think his tendency to kneel before a master and serve a council/more powerful lord rather than taking full control himself (as symbolized by him not taking the crown (yet)) - that's more striking a character mark of him than the supposed "arrogance" that was now said to be his dooming flaw. Even the misused character from TBC had that as his main trait, in that case played as his flaw. The reason why he betrayed Illidan in that writing was because he felt like Illidan wasn't anymore a lord who had his best interests in mind, which was his people's future to be prepared in a way where they don't have to struggle from day to day, but instead thrive comfortably. And the reason why he just went with the next best master was, partly because he didn't see a better opportunity, and partly because diplomacy was his only political skill. He probably learned that during his time in Dalaran. Arrogance, on levels where it becomes a dooming quality or dominant trait, is not something that allows a person to be diplomatic, or be popular with other diplomats. I want to repeat that I don't like what they did with him in TBC. But it's at least reasonable to some extent because they didn't have to completely change most of the skeleton of his character. He was really being dumbed down, as was Illidan. Personally I also really liked the dream team of these unlucky anti-heroes, and breaking them apart and having them killed off was a huge shame. But the "arrogance was the main dooming quality of Kael'thas" bs can go back right where it came from. I don't care how many books they will write, how many retcons they will make. I'll never accept this. I'll always see WoW canon as an alternate timeline that I have to accept to an extent in order to play the game, and SL solidified that.

I’m guessing in actual cutscene/cinematic format we would see why she gets caught on the bridge but here it looks like she could move but that’s just W3.
well i guess its the scale, in warcraft all buildings are really small in comparison with the units, because is a rts. So the bridge its a lot larger, also the spell needs canalization so she cannot move and only hits alive creatures.
Yeah... Sylvanas giving hints on how to disable the magic defenses of Silvermoon and power sliding into Arthas was pretty stupid too XD and the last one was a kind of cinematic hahahahahaha But, yeah, a lot of thing happened to be very awkward as a story just for the sake of the game. Still, for the time W3 was released, it was a hell of a story
Yeah.. and it's not as if anything even happened within those '10 seconds' either right? Like Malurion finding out about Maiev's lying, Illidan revealing he's trying to finish the ruler of the undead... :P
I'm guessing in actual cutscene/cinematic format it would show as to how she gets caught on the bridge with the scourge, but the scale of W3 just doesn't do it that much justice, they way it's shown.
@@saimyintmyat9373 Its a reference to Sylvanas basically using this very technique destroying the bridge (while staying on the other side of it) during the undead campaign.
Could Illidan and Malfurion call each brother a little bit more please...I don't think the people at the back of the theatre quite got the gist that they were related.
I can't blame maive, she just had her dangerous prisoner escaped from the cell with her guards (the watchers) slaughtered with out mercy by a fellow night elf who is also a priestess, can you really blame her for doing her one and only job?
@@renaultellis6188 Because Illidan is trying to escape. It's kill or be killed. But if you really understand the lore in Wow, Illidan did more good for the Night Elves than bad. Illidan is the reason why Night Elves are still immortal and have powers over nature because he made the second well of eternity near Mt Hyjal. Also without Illidan, Night Elves, Orcs and Humans would have lose in the battle of Mt Hyjal because of Ticondrius.
The way Malfurion and Tyrande treated Illidan's farewell message at the end of Legion left a really bad taste in my mouth. Yeah, I get it, you three have a rough history, but in Legion he did everything to stop the Legion and even volunteered to sacrifice the rest of his life staying in the Seat of the Pantheon to ensure Sargeras will never again threaten the universe.
The story is a million times better than what the past 5 expansions of wow have ever been. I'm so sad all of this is old and irrelevant. Like watching an old movie.
If so, then he literally is. Razing a village and destroying a continental ice cap are not small actions. Atleast towards the end there are people defending him.
Maiev is actually illidan lover, she just secretly admiring him through his prison cell. Perhaps if illidan succeed kill arthas they could be a great lover.
Illidan is such a well written character, you can see the duplicity of his soul. He is so sweet and submissive when Tyrande is involved, yet during the tomb of Sargeras missions, he is a downright proper villain* (asterisk because he is basically just defending himself while taking joy in coincidentally hurting someone he hates, maiev)
Warcraft world is made to be racist on purpose at first they started as medieval but ended up as something much more modern with rudimentary but working flying machines and guns... bombs etc. Still in this world it's expected for it's people to have medieval thinking. Like being racist, sexist or maybe even homophobic is normal to them. Did we forgot about slavery? Like what was Thrall at first? What his name says... a thrall, a slave. So in such a world Malfurion's comments about the naga's looks are not such a big deal.
Former night elf aristocracy who were ready to sacrifice the common folk for power, then got mutated when their plans exploded in their face? Of course his stomach turns.
Tyrande when Illidan comes to save her: "what trickery is this, you wanna kill me now?" "Wtf you actually didn't betray me?" Also Tyrande when Malfurion who has been sitting on his ass says hi: "Omg Malfurion, I'm so glad you came for me, Iloveyousomuch" Honestly Illidan is a simp but his suffering is extraordinary
Hmmm... Strange, if I remember correctly, Tyrande's fall in the bridge was not shown. I watch several RUclipsrs posting reforged vids, and It skipped her fall. And Prince Kael does not have his burning balls. Did they fixed it?
Maiev was right. Tyrande was a soldier and knew the risk. Furion was not a good leader. His lover was more important than their task. It's so stupid. I hate this part of campaign. These romance is silly. I prefer Maiev over Tyrande because the first one has even a character. Maiev is strong.
@@jasosik I am a bit confused in timeline. Burning legion has created the Lich King and Ilidan has always fight against legion so why would he work for them?

Yeah.. and it's not as if anything even happened within those '10 seconds' either right? Like Malurion finding out about Maiev's lying, Illidan revealing he's trying to finish the ruler of the undead... :P
is this a hulk hogan reference?
Does the music plays in the background of the cutscenes normally or you added it? Because either way, what a splendid choices. It fits so much..
He added the them........ It really suits every cutscene he had made......
Tyrande and the demon hunter is the saddest love story ever
I just thought of something... why didn't Tyrande cross the bridge, then destroyed it before the undead could cross it?
would have made too much sense
I'm guessing in actual cutscene/cinematic format it would show as to how she gets caught on the bridge with the scourge, but the scale of W3 just doesn't do it that much justice, they way it's shown.
"Apparently she never fought elves before."
@@lakdav Eleves ? You mean undead scourage right ?
@@saimyintmyat9373 Its a reference to Sylvanas basically using this very technique destroying the bridge (while staying on the other side of it) during the undead campaign.
Could Illidan and Malfurion call each brother a little bit more please...I don't think the people at the back of the theatre quite got the gist that they were related.
So nostalgic.. I grew up with Warcraft... Never played the reforged though..
I can't blame maive, she just had her dangerous prisoner escaped from the cell with her guards (the watchers) slaughtered with out mercy by a fellow night elf who is also a priestess, can you really blame her for doing her one and only job?
She had cause, but she also did more harm than good. There is doing your job and then there is becoming an obsessed loon
@@filipvadas7602 Illidan burned several Night Elf villages in Azshara. That's why the area was barren in Vanilla
Can't believe I fell for the title "Tyrande's death"
4:20 what current, lol
Animating current not in budget ^^
This campaign was the best in frozen throne in my opinion. I enjoyed it better than both the human and the undead ones.
The story is a million times better than what the past 5 expansions of wow have ever been. I'm so sad all of this is old and irrelevant. Like watching an old movie.
Take a shot at every heavily sarcasm laden utterance of “brother”.
He was always the hero :-D
Everyone: Hurr durr illidan is bad hurr durr
Oh please everyone is defending him here
@@TrulyWOW I think he meant in the game?
If so, then he literally is. Razing a village and destroying a continental ice cap are not small actions.
Atleast towards the end there are people defending him.
11:37 but wait Malfurion can use teleport XDDD
12:25 "HEY WHAT ABOUT US?!"
Maiev is actually illidan lover, she just secretly admiring him through his prison cell. Perhaps if illidan succeed kill arthas they could be a great lover.
wherr are Kael's 3 orbs?
They're there in some scenes and not in others. Its weird
Invoker kael
Illidan is such a well written character, you can see the duplicity of his soul. He is so sweet and submissive when Tyrande is involved, yet during the tomb of Sargeras missions, he is a downright proper villain* (asterisk because he is basically just defending himself while taking joy in coincidentally hurting someone he hates, maiev)
Oh my god submissive?😂
@@bosbanon3452 looking back on this comment it does seem a bit fanficcy lol.
5:40 the fcking music of the wrath of the lich king omg epic part
13:28 the music of the sacrifice of hellscream god who dont notice this?
what ever i maybe ,whatever i maybecome in this world
Malfurion: Too much blood has spilled on your account Ilidan
Ilidan: *Deletes Fb account*
Also Ilidan: You happy?
LOL
#illidanisoverparty
Maiev likes that
its very sad and romantic story i almost cried at illidan when he saved Tyranda
How...
@@hokya7019 becouse he love her , and ik that feeking , only if you fall in love you will know that feeling
i love how pragmatic Warden the Shadowsong is in this game..

Your intro is 10/10
Arthas : Protecting Global Warming.
Sentinels : Lets destroy his scheme.
2:07 lmao the blood elf swordsman looks like a mirror of Kael
Kael'thas is a fashion icon
one trade of meaty 'BROTHER' to surpass Metal Gear
BRODHA!!
Warcraft 3 just lets me know how dumb the night elves really are lol
Tyrande, Malfurion and Maiev have the same voices, but for Illidan’s voice is different.
So Malfurion values Tyrande over defeating the Scourge and saving tens of thousands of lives. Great fucking character.
Malfurion is hella racist to the naga. “The sight of them is gross” lol basically what he said
this world became mad with political correctness...
Warcraft world ain't really into tolerance.
@@alphadios2003 Not to mentioned they were at war at the times.
Former night elf aristocracy who were ready to sacrifice the common folk for power, then got mutated when their plans exploded in their face? Of course his stomach turns.
Tyrande when Illidan comes to save her: "what trickery is this, you wanna kill me now?" "Wtf you actually didn't betray me?"
Also Tyrande when Malfurion who has been sitting on his ass says hi: "Omg Malfurion, I'm so glad you came for me, Iloveyousomuch"
Honestly Illidan is a simp but his suffering is extraordinary
11:56 Tyrande, she's alive😇💙💙💙
DAFUQ they did to his face?! Illidan looks like a broken.
Also that - JUST WHO'S THE BETRAYER NOW, WOMAN? - Was just great for Maiev.
both illidan & Arthas lost their souls so Their-own Homeland remain safe
Well at least they have fixed a little
Maiev , still the best 'Tsun' in fantasy.
NO,TYRANDE,BUT SHE'S ALIVE?!
Funny thing: illidan and tyrande are the only 2 with moral here.
What the name of sound in the end?
Tyrande does not deserve his love
Hmmm... Strange, if I remember correctly, Tyrande's fall in the bridge was not shown. I watch several RUclipsrs posting reforged vids, and It skipped her fall. And Prince Kael does not have his burning balls. Did they fixed it?
Tyrande's death?
what's the music you use for the outro? sounds familiar.
The night song. It's the night elve's theme from World of Warcraft
I hope starfall's damage would be as awesome as this ingame.
The music by itself is epic.
Can anyone tell me the name of the song from 6:40 to 7:40?
Tyrande was so stupid for using starfall while she's on the bridge. She could have used her power NEAR the bridge, not OVER the bridge 😡
How did she know the bridge was made of straw?
Man WC3 lore was too good...
What soundtrack is this one you used in the end man?
search for night elf song
@@ivomyh6200 Thanks mate 🤙🏼
Why is Maiev so obsessed with Illidan dying or shit?
Tyrande doesn‘t die in Warcraft 3, the headline is wrong.
I know this is nitpicking but couldn't Tyrande have just destroyed the bridge instead of a "last stand"?
Sshhhhh
14:38 "Rest"
Is Warcraft 3 reforged offline also? How can I download it
maiev learns a lesson never lie to a archdriud period she should have her mouth shut
Illidan is a sociopath except for Tyrande
Maiev was right. Tyrande was a soldier and knew the risk. Furion was not a good leader. His lover was more important than their task. It's so stupid. I hate this part of campaign. These romance is silly.
I prefer Maiev over Tyrande because the first one has even a character. Maiev is strong.
This happened when boomers run the world.
Panfu
True. It just shows you that Malfurion is a softie and doesn’t really hate Illidan in that scene.
@Sin'dorei Keehan M.A But was blinded by His stupid love mind.
@Sin'dorei Keehan M.A lol no he ain't, that's why he got axed by Saurfang years later
To put your personal interest over the interest of others. Haven't we seen it before?
Guys, the music are different...
or its just the video...
I still think its bullshit they didn't add the naga as a playable race. It's also bullshit they didn't add some of the wow lore to the remaster.
Maiev is utterly unlikable, atleast Illidan was always for his people
Maive really screwed things up didn't she.
Tyrande didn't die?
