Illidan is my favorite character in WoW. Taking the dark path, knowing this is the dark path, in order to do the impossible and save the world regardless of the sacrifices. The fact he rejected the Light is basically admiting that he doesnt deserve redemption. He knows many of the things he did were wrong, but also necesary and he accepted it and took fate into his own hands. And that is what facinates me about him. How he took fate into his own hands. Despite Sargeras, the Light and the Void, illidan was in the end, his own man.
I had sniffed Sargeras stone in powder , and its so cool man ! Khadgar : Ok dude, let me saw that ... Oooh yes, its a bomb ! Illidan : Nasal bomb ! (sorry for that, but its soo tempting)
The best way to describe the love triangle in the War of the Ancients trilogy. Illidan: I love Tyrande. Tyrande: I love Malfurion. Malfurion: I love trees. And I love Tyrande.
I personally don't think his story is over. He's too popular a character to end off like that, and with the prophecy, and knowing the next expansion is going to deal mostly with the void, there is still a chance the prophecy could be true.

In my headcanon, Xe’ra was not lying to Illidan when she declared that the greater evil was the Void and that he, as a being of both light and darkness, would one day rise to fight it-and ultimately triumph. I believe Illidan will return when the Void finally makes its grand entrance. Unbeknownst to him, Xe’ra did, in fact, infuse him with the Light to prepare him for this destiny, making him the prophesied Child of Light and Shadow. Illidan, however, believes he overpowered Xe’ra and rejected the Light’s influence entirely. Yet, when the Void at last begins its apocalyptic campaign, something extraordinary will happen. Deep within the chamber where he guards Sargeras, Illidan will begin to glow-not with fel fire or shadow, but with radiant Light. It is then that he will realize Xe’ra’s words were true. In the forges of Maldraxxus, the Primus would guide him in creating new warglaives-ones capable of slaying not only demons but the Void’s twisted horrors. In this rebirth, we would see Illidan in his true form, bathed in Light yet tempered by Darkness-a being of perfect balance. He would stand as the warrior Xe’ra envisioned, haloed in divine radiance, defying death itself to take the fight to the Void. But even a hero needs a personal arc, a thread of love and connection amidst the chaos. Perhaps Illidan’s journey would bring closure to his long-simmering bond with Maiev Shadowsong, the jailer who once saw him only as a prisoner but now as an equal. Or maybe the story takes an unexpected turn-Lady Vashj, loyal to the end, could be resurrected and redeemed, her naga curse lifted. Perhaps even Lady Azshara, restored to her elven form, could find redemption alongside Illidan. And then there’s the most tantalizing prospect of all: Elune herself. Could Illidan be revealed as her chosen Moon Warrior, a being who, like the moon, can shine with the reflected brilliance of the sun (the Light) yet thrive even in its absence (the Dark)? Illidan’s story would finally come full circle, fulfilling not just his destiny to guard the cosmos but to embrace his humanity-or what remains of it. Whether fighting the Void or finding love, it is time to let Illidan Stormrage rise to his ultimate potential. And, yes-let’s get Illidan laid!
