Your goldtop video showed up on my utube videos. I watched the whole thing. Really liked it. Love a goldtop. Then I found this video as I was browsing. The guitar looks great. I hope you enjoy it. It deserved a good home. FYI Monty is a very kind person. I’ve had a short conversation online with him and he really is very kind. I’m in the U.S. cheers and you should be proud of yourself. FYI I saw the Hagstrom video. You’re so right. Although, the guitar has to as u know fit our hands and meet our standards physically and sound wise etc. My guitar teacher I had for yrs told me when I said I preferred a certain color. That doesn’t matter!!! Uh yea it does. That’s why they make different types and colors of guitars. Sorry this is a yr late as I said it just showed up.

I've been waiting for this video, love how it turned out!
Couple of questions from genuine curiosity:
    1. Why did you not put any shielding in the elections cavity?
    2. Why did you wrap the strings around the tailpiece?
The guitar looks great and I cannot wait to hear how it sounds!

Glad you liked it! Great questions. I don't habitually shield my guitars because I'm not a touring or session musician, so most of the environments I play in have minimal EMI. If I had a guitar with P90s I might bother with it but shielding's tricky and time-consuming to get right (most "shielding" you find in guitars is pointless because it's not done well enough) and humbucking guitars aren't that sensitive to EMI to begin with.
I've top-wrapped the tailpiece because Les Pauls from this era have quite a steep neck/body angle meaning the bridge sits high, so to reduce the string break angle between the bridge and tailpiece you can either crank the tailpiece up off the body, or you can top-wrap. I prefer the latter as I don't want to put stress on the tailpiece posts. Some people say it also sounds better if the tailpiece is tight to the body, which is possible. Bonamassa says he prefers the feel but I can't say I've noticed a difference in feel.

good job with the front, but the back looked better before

Matter of opinion I guess. I'd rather have a bad finish than that kind of message scratched into a guitar.
