Also saw this for sale and wondered if it was worth it. The case was quite an attractive offset. Decided I didn't have the budget so I'm delighted to have the chance to see what you can do with it. So far I totally with the ethos of your restoration. Looking forward to part 2.

That's so cool! Thanks for commenting, I was wondering if anyone else had seen this and had the same idea as me. I'm really glad you're enjoying the video. Part 2 coming very soon!

I'll clarify the kind of values we're talking in part 2 but I'm not going to say exactly how much I paid for it as it wouldn't be fair to the seller.

Awesome. Subscribed, and eagerly anticipating Part 2. I love the concept of sympathetic restoration. As a restorer myself, this is an education as well as anything else.

Man I never come across deals like that. I will continue to look. I will be watching you getting the parts and putting it together, nice score.

Thanks man! To be honest I don't come across this kind of deal every day either, and when this came up it was so crazy I thought it must be either a scam or a mistake. I took the risk anyway and here we are. It's not like I'm constantly on the hunt for deals like this, I just happened to be browsing Les Pauls on the bay. I hope you get lucky soon too. Part 2 out in the next week!

Great video! Exactly what I come to this channel for: guitar maintenance/restoration that can be done by anyone with a bit of nouse.

Should be up on Tuesday - it's taken way longer for the parts to come than I expected, sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience!

As someone who's scoured the "For Parts or Not Working" lisings on Ebay quite a lot, that is a spot on description. That said, I did get an outstanding 2007 Gibson SG husk for next to nothing. Because I already had most of the parts it would need in a spare parts bin, it cost less than a third to turn it into a really great guitar. That is the exception, not the rule however...

Absolutely. We could spend our lives hunting for the exceptions - on this occasion I just got a lucky break, right place, right time. Who knows then the next will come up! Thanks for watching and commenting!
