great interview...what a sweet guy.....i so love the clip of Russell with Diane Reeves playing, "embraceable you" ...i listen to it over and over!! very sad to hear of passing, thanks for the music Russell!!!
I've been coming back to this in a few segments, what an absolute treasure. I think I was smiling the whole time, no wonder why Russel is able to captivate any one who hears his music. Thanks for posting this Alicyn!
This might be Russell's last interview and what a beautiful interview you led Alicyn.....RIP Russell....he will be so so missed!!! BTW new subscriber here and hope you post again Alicyn...
Alicyn, I just found this interview today. Thank you for this. I never met Russell. This makes me feel as if I know him a bit. I was forntunate to hear him with Mr. Carter and Mr. Vega last year. We are all do blessed and sadden. Rest in Peace, Russell.
Russell is my favorite. Great interview. I've watched a lot of interviews with him but there was a ton of stuff in here I'd never heard before. I met him briefly after a concert he played with Benny Green and he seems like such a genuinely nice human being. Thanks for sharing this!
I remember the first time I met Aliicyn. She was a young woman playing outside a coffee house with a friend of here in Sacramento. I was so impressed by her. She played with some other seasoned guys here on some gigs and watched her grow .Then she left for New York and so many of us in Sac are so proud of her.
Rest In Peace

Thanks for sharing, Alicyn! Inspiring stuff. The link in the description though leads to another interview with Wen-ting Wu
My goodness, my initial experience and introduction to guitar was almost identical to Russell’s 😮❤😊
RIP, sad.
How have you never heard of Glen Campbell and Roy Clark. Good god.
I said I do know Glen Campbell. Do you have nothing better to do than try to vibe someone on the internet lol
