That is why I love Trevor Noah he is funny and he interview real artists. I love how he interviewed Solange Knowles about her latest record. Now to see Robert Glasper so cool.
Robert Glasper is in a class by himself. Extreme great talent with music. I have all his albums that you can play from the beginning to the end. This album Black Radio III is the best ever!!! It’s like every album he makes it gets better and better.
"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." -Bruce Lee
Much love for that J Dilla mention, his born date was the 7th just the other day. RG keeps it fresh while honoring ALL that came before him, stay blessed brother
Glasper is a phenomenal pianist. Back when I was in recovery for a broken hand, I got to be in an audience right behind him as he played, and his technique was the fuel for using piano practice as hand therapy. *context: bro did a fluid arpeggiation for 7 minutes straight. That takes tons of hand dexterity and strength.
and then he gets his fifth Grammy with Black Radio III, which is simply beautiful. I simply love how he's confident but also humble, everything with this ironic sense of humor. Guy's a true genius.
Wishing this interview could have been much longer. Robert Glasper comes across as being so engaging, and I have a newfound appreciation for Trevor. Well done.
I only stumbled on this interview because of a recommendatio from RM from BTS. I'm so glad I did. Wow. I'm truly sad I never came across his music before.
Trevor knows jazz? Nice! I have to get that mixed tape now...with everything from Jagged Edge to Robert Glasper and a few surprises. You know people would buy that mixed tape if you made one right?
BHM calibrate Reggie Middleton as the inventor of DeFi and now aboriginal US and Japanese patent holder. Trevor, if you’re reading the comments please look into this phenomenal man. His story NEEDS to be told. No media is covering it!!
I would love the opportunity to work with Robert Glasper I have a voice strong like Whitney,Tina,Eryka,Jill,Alicia,Etc. I have been looking for like minded people of music to connect with to do what I love and ment to do to heal the people through my singing and create art and make history.
Who is here back again after the ChrisBrown Grammy rant. I hope the both of them can work together after this. I’ve always loved Robert Glasper and don’t think that Chris meant the intent to hurt him as much as he did the inconsistencies of the Grammy awards and their racist undertones in Black artists
Wow! Did not expect this, my favorite comedian interviewing my favorite musician.
And he’s also a very funny musician 😁 bonus!
Word!!!!
We should be friends

Having a voicing named after you is the highest honor a pianist/contributor to music can achieve

I took my 19 year old to Robert G in Miami last year. He was like, "Mom, when are we going to check that guy n the piano again." I love his music.
Love his music. Came across his music on RUclips. Thank you Robert! "Better than I could've imagined.."
one guy that is well known but surely underhyped. he is like one of the few real talents in modern scene
He's a great talent, but the modern scene has many fantastic jazz musicians at the moment.

Love Glasper to the 10th power.
Maybe my favorite Trevor Noah interview.

He’s one of extremely few that can play “ hip hop “ chords.
He's that guy.
I'm sorry I believe grasshopper was David Caredine Which was opposition
Wow oh wow ❤❤❤
Chris Brown brought me here. Even Mr. Robert felt he wouldn't win R&B category at some point in his musical career.
His son is talented as well.
The Colab we all needed to happen
