First zombie game in my life I´ve player, I still remember how intense this was, watching it the first time. Ah yeah, the old times when zombie games we´re scary.
Why this intro is the best in zombie history?: 1.-They show what happened to Raccon City in general, while in RE2 only a few parts were show. 2.-We see what happened to most of the civilians and the RPD menbers along the SWAT units. 3.-Also we notice how much the city was doomed, not even the civilians or mercenaries were capable to manage this madness. PD:as a bonus we saw how poor was the RPD and SPD (Raccon City SWAT) in weponry, only pistols, SMG's and Shotguns for an entire zombie army!, not even Tankettes or an armed Chopper.
Fatass bastard Brian Irons sabotaged the whole mission by hiding ammunition boxes and not telling his people that "zombies" would kept multiplying as T-virus was airborne as well. Soon enough, cops were overwhelmed by zombies as zombies kept adding up one after another.
blame it on that asshole chief irons. he intended to make a feast for the undead out of his mean and also out of those civilians. their are infact loads of high powered weaponry and tanks as well but it was been sabotaged by irons.. and those police officers, they should have had high powered weaponry but due to the incompetent and evil minded perpetrator chief irons, they were lead to their demise and also those poor civilians. god i could not imagine what horror have they experienced on that fateful day if it became real. and if it became real, due to the fact that they encountered undead i do think that even though they are police or swat.. they got scared as well because any second they will suffer and feel the pain on what it is like to be eaten alive
@@Blueflag04 according to some suspicions during these events they probably fleed before the outbreak. In the diary of Jill she tells about Chris leaving town after he quits his job and Rebecca well she also escaped in time.
capcom doesn't know what the fans want anymore. they have just come out with shit. if they stayed making remasters or more RE: OUTBREAKS FILE 3,4,5,6 etc then they would have been ok. in my opinion, RE4 and the outbreak series were the last good RE'S.
I remember first seeing this sceneas a kid. And I won't lie it's still chilling to this day, to see the horde of the undead overwhelm all these police officers, swat and even mercenary commandos, that despite all their training and firepower it was a hopeless fight. And especially dreadful to see that nothing can stop them.
It's sad that they didn't make a similar epic scene for the Remake. It was replaced by a lame live action scene. Live action in itself wasnt an bad idea, but it didn't convey the struggle of the RPD officers and UBCS soldiers, neither did it show the terrifying zombies and how the civilians were scared af.
Yeah I dunno what the fuck the new intro was about. Something to do with able-bodied humans rioting, and how white guys in lab coats are evil or something. I only saw it once and can't remember it. This original intro was exciting, fun, and gave you an idea about what the hell was going down
SrDanielPonces Well Code Veronica was the REAL Resident Evil 3 until Sony cryed a river because the game was only for Dreamcast, so they forced Capcom to maintain the numeric sequels in Playstation, as result, the original Spin-Off (Resident Evil Last Escape) was turned into the 3rd sequel and the original 3rd sequel into an Spin-Off. Anyway, both games are great.
TheCableguy x Trilogy indeed. I can tolerate the spin-offs like Dead Aim and Gun Survivor because they never pulled any punches about not being like the original games, but everything else after Nemesis has been a fucking joke by comparison to these amazing games. These games were the highlight of the industry in the 90s. Now they're just another cash cow for Capcom.
"If only they had the courage to fight" god damn Jill Valentine you were such a positive female role model. that's coming from a guy who played this in fourth grade and learned that girls could kick ass.
The big three female "commandos" of the 90s, Jill Valentine, Regina (Dino Crisis) and Joanna Dark. Dunno much about Tomb Raider, Laura Croft is usually on female lead lists, but she wasn't super hardcore imo, but Jill and Regina are by far the most notable commandos of all time. The only legendary heroine of the 2000+ video games are probably only "The Boss" from the MGS series.. Joanna Dark was butchered and the newer Jill is pretty meh unfortunately.. Im drawing a blank on any others.
Jill speech here are so laughable and stupid. What is she even talking about? What wheels of justice, and why the fuck people of RC should pay for the USS soldiers failed mission (you know, RE 2 events). What a stupid and anti-climactic Jill intro, I don’t understand why it was even there. Nonsense
The cops arriving together with RPD SWAT units sending everything they got and get their weapons and defense position ready... SWAT: Fire!! *Open fire* Cop: Come and get it! Cop 2: Son of a- SWAT 2: Don't give up!!! Cop 3: They are too many! SWAT 3: DON'T HELD BACK!! *Screams* Their defense were brought down and many casualties in that area, rain falls and thunder lightning flashing. This is the last stand of the RPD cops and SWAT units for their beloved city. They are the bravest y'know... it's still heartbreaking. They died as a hero when they protect Racoon City but the infected has taking over the city
The dark manly voice saying "Resident evil" after you pressed start a new game always had me shittin, seriously. My dad didn't like this game very much but i always got him to play it just so i could watch, because i was too scared to play it myself, and when i finally got the courage, i restarted the game just before you meet nemesis outside the police station over and over again because i liked the game but i was too scared to proceed beyond meeting him lol
I was little and my legs SHOOK everytime I played. I got to the end because I had my mom play with me. You meet nemesis a billion times and I was scared shitless every one. Amazing game.
@@Rockanitation I think what made it scary was how hopeless it was. I mean you would think these trained soldiers and policemen armed to the teeth would turn the tide against the infected undead. But nope, they just could not stay dead and were overwhelmed by so many zombies.
It's important that they include this in the remake, just hope it gives me the goosebumps like this one does, the scene showing the RPD's hopeless last stand is the best
Indeed, almost all remaining RPD officers were wiped out here. Only ones alive after this was Marvin and Leon, plus Kevin and Rita from the Outbreak games. And oh Elliot in the RE2 Remake, before he got cut in half.
The RPD were split between being out on the streets and held up in the station, obviously the ones that Irons sent out to fight it out with the UBCS were wiped out and most were too in the station as for a few stragglers as you say! Would be an amazing idea to play as a SWAT for this scene yeah I agree!

Let's keep our fingers crossed that, if RE2 remake is successful in terms of sales, that RE3 will get a remake--which Capcom has promised. SO all of you go out and buy it when it comes out!!! An RE3 remake is in order!
it's funny a woman only armed with a handgun can take town hordes of zombies including nemesis but a squad of mercenaries armed with assault rifles and grenades get taken down and I know they weren't prepared for a situation like this but come on could've at least killed one wait that grenade guy but he was the only one to land kills
1. Jill dont use only a handgun to survive in Raccoon City, you have many weapons in your arsenal. 2. What you mean hordes of zombie? if you have more then 5-7 there is always a barrel of petrol or somefing like that. 3. Now I tell you curiosity:) about intro. In the first version of Biohazrd 3 (RE3 J.) creators make game realy hard, zombies dont "die" just fall dawn and wake up after some time, to kill one you had shootgun shoot to his face or use granate luncher to kill them:). Intro was wery good so they dont changed it... for me is more dramatic if they dont easy die:)
In the manual for this game it states that Jill is ex delta force which is the only rational explanation for her surviving such ridiculous odds, but even then it's still silly considering a woman couldn't even be in delta force in 1998 let alone before that time and already be retired from it.
Sephiroth Crescent No she really is the best character! The reason is because she is the only character that had to face the same boss constantly! This boss knew how to run fast, use weapons, transform etc... and as a female she survived all of that whereas the biggest police force with the best weapons couldn't handle simple zombies! Jill went through zombies and had to face Nemesis by herself on numerous occasions even after she met Carlos!
Chaos and hopelessness, witnessing the police and UBCS fighting the horde but eventually being overrun by zombies... And none of that are captured in the remake intro.
RE3 RE went far below my expectations. Capcom probably thought it was a good idea to use STOCK VIDEOS of riots than remaking this iconic animated intro. RE3 REMAKE is more of a reimagining than a remake, so they won’t be getting a game of the year award nomination from me.
Right, it's so annoying. Same can be said for the ending. The boring explosion in the background is so lazy compared to the original which was so detailed showing individual areas of the city being incinerated.
*clap* *clap* *clap* I have to give props to Capcpom. This intro is badass. That being said, the guy throwing nades is the only one that even does anything useful out of the entire police force and the UBCS cause he's the only one actually killing any zombies...
+TheGamingBaconator Honestly, I don't think any of them actually died. They just fell over for a few seconds and got right back up. The only thing that really killed the zombies was dismemberment of the spinal cord to the brain.
Probably just knocking them over, frankly. Clearly nobody discovered the effectiveness of the headshot yet. The police and UBCS were brave though, if you listen to their chatter. If they'd known to go for the head, I think they had the balls of steel to make it out alive.
Imagine capcom remaking this exact intro with jill's monologue as the announcement trailer for Resident evil 3 remake at the next E3. It gives me the chills
Ryan Duncan Oh, please. Left 4 Dead is overrated. It's such a repetitive game. EVERY level is the same shit. Get from point A to point B without the entire group getting killed. Not to mention, there's virtually NO storyline. We just get the smallest bit of background on the characters, and that's really about it. It's fun for a while, but then gets extremely boring. I can't play that game for more than just a couple of hours, maybe, before I'm completely bored and want to switch to something else. If you honestly think that's one of the greatest series' in history (with only just two games, it barely is a series) then you have incredibly shitty taste and are easily impressed.
Well if you only focus on the Get from point A to B aspect them I am sure you are right. if you play like me though and listen to all of the dialogue then it is great. RE 2 which is my favourite game in the series was the same, you learnt the story by listening to the dialogue and reading reports and letters. Also let's not forget all of the custom campaigns. While many are not done well, there are some that shine like I Hate Mountains where you can make the story that they tried to reach Canada but crashed near the border.
Ryan Duncan Even listening to all of the dialogue, it's still not that great. You still don't get much story. Like I said, you get a bit of background on the characters and what their lives were perhaps like before the outbreak, but aside from that, nothing. We never learn what started the outbreak and the characters don't really change and grow. There's no development there. Custom campaigns? You must play the PC version. I play on consoles. Therefore, we don't get any custom maps. We're stuck using the same ones, which probably makes it that much more boring and monotonous.

Why this intro is the best in zombie history?:
1.-They show what happened to Raccon City in general, while in RE2 only a few parts were show.
@@roberthasudungan1546 I read that the T-Virus contamination was through the city's main water supply. I dont think it was airborne.
blame it on that asshole chief irons. he intended to make a feast for the undead out of his mean and also out of those civilians. their are infact loads of high powered weaponry and tanks as well but it was been sabotaged by irons.. and those police officers, they should have had high powered weaponry but due to the incompetent and evil minded perpetrator chief irons, they were lead to their demise and also those poor civilians. god i could not imagine what horror have they experienced on that fateful day if it became real. and if it became real, due to the fact that they encountered undead i do think that even though they are police or swat.. they got scared as well because any second they will suffer and feel the pain on what it is like to be eaten alive
I wonder where is Chris and Rebecca during this time
@@Blueflag04 according to some suspicions during these events they probably fleed before the outbreak.

I guess the remake do not have this scene.
Such a shame
Always love that line "This is chopper Delton, ready to drop off in area E-95070", then epic moment started.
It's chopper Delta but yeah this intro was great.
This original intro was exciting, fun, and gave you an idea about what the hell was going down
this game caps off a brilliant trilogy
Why does everyone forget Code Veronica?
SrDanielPonces Well Code Veronica was the REAL Resident Evil 3 until Sony cryed a river because the game was only for Dreamcast, so they forced Capcom to maintain the numeric sequels in Playstation, as result, the original Spin-Off (Resident Evil Last Escape) was turned into the 3rd sequel and the original 3rd sequel into an Spin-Off.
Anyway, both games are great.
yeah
TheCableguy x Trilogy indeed. I can tolerate the spin-offs like Dead Aim and Gun Survivor because they never pulled any punches about not being like the original games, but everything else after Nemesis has been a fucking joke by comparison to these amazing games. These games were the highlight of the industry in the 90s. Now they're just another cash cow for Capcom.
How Do Ya Like Me Now, Chucklehead? Code Veronica X was a joke to you?
This intro was my fave I love the hell out of it
"If only they had the courage to fight" god damn Jill Valentine you were such a positive female role model. that's coming from a guy who played this in fourth grade and learned that girls could kick ass.
Not to mention that in her Biography that she was Trained by Delta Force operators.
@ED S oh wow i've never seen an actual incel in the wild before
Jill speech here are so laughable and stupid. What is she even talking about? What wheels of justice, and why the fuck people of RC should pay for the USS soldiers failed mission (you know, RE 2 events). What a stupid and anti-climactic Jill intro, I don’t understand why it was even there. Nonsense
Uselessmouth12 what do you mean Raccon city was controlled by umbrella for gear even the chief of police was on the pay roll
I always get goosebumps starting a new play through of this game. Jill’s monologue and the music in the background is so great!
First zombie game ever played with my dad.
Full of nostalgic feels :D
Back in the days when Capcom was just getting better and better with RE series.
The quality of this cutscene looked noticeably better than RE2.
Hard to believe that's PS1. Looks surprisingly non-cereal-box like
Still playing the shit out of this game well into PS4 era!
Timeless Classic is never gets old to play again and again!
24 years later and RE3 is still the best in the series
This intro is just amazing, you can really feel the agony from all those cops
The cops arriving together with RPD SWAT units sending everything they got and get their weapons and defense position ready...
SWAT: Fire!!
*Open fire*
Cop: Come and get it!
Cop 2: Son of a-
SWAT 2: Don't give up!!!
Cop 3: They are too many!
SWAT 3: DON'T HELD BACK!!
*Screams*
Their defense were brought down and many casualties in that area, rain falls and thunder lightning flashing.
This is the last stand of the RPD cops and SWAT units for their beloved city.
They are the bravest y'know... it's still heartbreaking. They died as a hero when they protect Racoon City but the infected has taking over the city
If you think about it they would have killed more zombies if the entire car line drove into them instead.
One of the best intros ever, proud to be grown up with ps1 and these videogames
The dark manly voice saying "Resident evil" after you pressed start a new game always had me shittin, seriously. My dad didn't like this game very much but i always got him to play it just so i could watch, because i was too scared to play it myself, and when i finally got the courage, i restarted the game just before you meet nemesis outside the police station over and over again because i liked the game but i was too scared to proceed beyond meeting him lol
if you play Japanese version, the voice would say "BIO HAZARD" instead..
Dude, you were not the only one xD

@@Rockanitation I think what made it scary was how hopeless it was. I mean you would think these trained soldiers and policemen armed to the teeth would turn the tide against the infected undead. But nope, they just could not stay dead and were overwhelmed by so many zombies.
WHY WASN’T THIS REMASTERED IN RE3!!!!!
Alot of people ask the same question man! Myself included!
It was because of both money problems, and they thought it would be impossible to remake the models, I think.
It was rushed by the community i think or at least that's what I've heard.
I agree, this scene could’ve been badass if they did remake it.
Those old times when story and gameplay were more important than graphics
Anyone else play this on repeat? The intro had me pumped and still does today. Amazing
Isn't it crazy how well this has held up getting on 20 years after the fact? Such a great intro. Sets the hopeless tone very well.
This scene here shows SWAT being destroyed, RPD at this time were still holding the police station.
Kyle Gardner I have a friend that's hoping we get to play as a SWAT officer in the opening of the remake.
The RPD were split between being out on the streets and held up in the station, obviously the ones that Irons sent out to fight it out with the UBCS were wiped out and most were too in the station as for a few stragglers as you say! Would be an amazing idea to play as a SWAT for this scene yeah I agree!
They didn't.
I'll admit I'm a little disappointed we didn't get to see a remake of this intro where the police and UBCS are fighting against the undead.
@Hattan AlShutaifi Facts!
@Hattan AlShutaifi The retarded philosophy of Crapcause "Hey we ruined Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Now let's remake RE4 just because."
The intro is so cool! Beautiful music. Very emotional Jill. I really like it.
We should thank the RPD, SWAT and umbrella mercs for softening up the zombies for us
The remake is here.
And it does not have this intro
The shitmake is here. And it belongs on a bonfire. What an embarrassment to the franchise it is!

You know what would suck? If the Crimson heads were also in the city
Perhaps in the RE2 Remake!
MrDefault08 Man I want that soooo bad. Just imagine zombies evolving into Crimson Heads and then Lickers.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that, if RE2 remake is successful in terms of sales, that RE3 will get a remake--which Capcom has promised. SO all of you go out and buy it when it comes out!!! An RE3 remake is in order!
that would suck as well....i think the Crimson Heads were on Operation Raccoon City
it's funny a woman only armed with a handgun can take town hordes of zombies including nemesis but a squad of mercenaries armed with assault rifles and grenades get taken down and I know they weren't prepared for a situation like this but come on could've at least killed one wait that grenade guy but he was the only one to land kills
Intro was wery good so they dont changed it... for me is more dramatic if they dont easy die:)
not saying the opening was bad actually scared the shit out of me it's just funny now
In the manual for this game it states that Jill is ex delta force which is the only rational explanation for her surviving such ridiculous odds, but even then it's still silly considering a woman couldn't even be in delta force in 1998 let alone before that time and already be retired from it.
Robocop999999999 If Jill survived Arklay Mansion incident, she should be able to escape Raccoon City.
Robocop999999999 Lord forbid that our fictional characters don't follow non-fictional standards. Lol.
Jill is the best Resident Evil character really.
Fighting Fan you're only saying that because she's hot
And John F. Kennedy
This Jill (RE3) is the best. in re5 and revelations she was trash
@@1Sparda1_ What about her in RE1?
Sephiroth Crescent No she really is the best character! The reason is because she is the only character that had to face the same boss constantly! This boss knew how to run fast, use weapons, transform etc... and as a female she survived all of that whereas the biggest police force with the best weapons couldn't handle simple zombies! Jill went through zombies and had to face Nemesis by herself on numerous occasions even after she met Carlos!
Chaos and hopelessness, witnessing the police and UBCS fighting the horde but eventually being overrun by zombies... And none of that are captured in the remake intro.
It's 2020 and still watched this. Miss this intro.
This voice actress was the only person to ever do justice for Jill's personality type
And yet in the Remake, they gave us an intro showing some riots....
And it just looks like some lame random riots they recorded on The TV news.
And a monkey in a scientist uniform talking about umbrellas
@@yesanameirequested1682 Monkey?
@@Ragitsu yes.
Idk why but this intro is way better than the remake
The new intro feels like yt ads tbh.
the remake is trash thats why
Because the remake is more of a shitmake. The gutter is where it needs to go.
Official Invictus But still, more useful than the guys shooting the zoms in the chest...
Probably just knocking them over, frankly. Clearly nobody discovered the effectiveness of the headshot yet. The police and UBCS were brave though, if you listen to their chatter. If they'd known to go for the head, I think they had the balls of steel to make it out alive.
+TheGamingBaconator Cops are trained to shoot center mass or to disable.
+TheGamingBaconator i think the one throwing the grenades was Mikhail. But im not entirely sure.
Wonder why capcom decided to scrap this intro from the remake? This opening is iconic for re3!
Imagine capcom remaking this exact intro with jill's monologue as the announcement trailer for Resident evil 3 remake at the next E3. It gives me the chills
Resident Evil... will there ever be a greater series in the history of gaming?
Left 4 Dead comes close for me. If it only it had puzzles it would be perfect.
This wont be in the remake, i guarantee that. not even the police officers fighting the zombies.
You were right. Disappointed but understand, otherwise won't fit in remakes' vibe.
@@jackhsu3458 Vibe? the police fighting against massive zombie horde that will set the tone for what is Resident evil 3 will not fit the " Vibe" what are you, a bloody hippy that you need something to have a vibe? it needs to set the setting, not make you say "duuuudeee, yeaaaahh."
