In both the original and remake she gets infected by nemesis or drain deimos respectivly and carlos has to make a vaccine in the secret umbrella hospital lab before she dies. She get's her powers in re5 when wesker attaches the spider thing to her chest that inject P30 a variant of progenitor virus into her. That p30 gives her actual powers and in re3 she doesn't have any powers.

Someone has played RE3 recently
They really did a great job showcasing Nemisis using practical effects instead of a bunch of CGI on him.
One of the very few things that is good about the RE series
Well there some shot where it looks obviously and movement.
Cgi works well when its done great. Dont hate on it.
David carter I don’t hate CGI, but I think that the practical effects are really good on Nemesis. There are some times when CGI is a crutch like Green Lantern, where everything down to his domino mask is CGI.
I just wonder why he didn’t kill the civilians. In the games he does. And also Nemesis doesn’t bleed, does it? I know it heals and the clothing is to keep his mutation under control
This was a truly game-worthy moment out of all the films.

Inflict heavy damage over the Coronary Area with a high caliber rifle and its done. No real soldier is going after headshots it's not realistic tbh.
Soldiers are usually trained to aim for the torso. Works well on human targets, but not non-human targets.

Nemesis has got to be one of the coolest movie monsters ever. The practical effects makes scenes like this amazing to watch, I really wish film makers did more costume design vs CGI.

Also, snipers in real life shoot to the lungs and heart spot because it is more reliable than going for the head
although nemesis's weakness is its heart outside of its chest, but those starts members had no idea. that sniper was headshotting every zombie but kept going for body shot on nemi was straight up stupid and painful to watch

Technically you can achieve it with minigun, but you would need some insane strength to keep it so steady.
I never thought how much of a precision tool nemesis was in a way. He appears like a blunt instrument of war. But he clearly just followed orders to a T. He killed the stars team without killing him because he wasn't included in the kill order.

Nemesis’s body is not armoured. He is covered by leather straps, that is it. When he was show, blood was spilling out - his body is exposed, no armour whatsoever.
He is durable because he is a modified zombie + has potential to regenerate/mutate.
You can damage him, but it will do nothing (kinda what gunshots do to Wolverine).
Jill: lets burn his clothing and see what happens to him after :)
This was a missed opportunity seeing Nemesis in his true mutated form in the live action film :(

Gotta say... With the power of hindsight, and considering the last few years of Resident Evil live-action content, this was pretty good... I really liked the idea of S.T.A.R.S being more than a few dozen people, instead acting like an elite S.W.A.T team in the movie, with much more members than the games portrayed.
See all Nemesis wanted was some respect....
If that's in the videogame nemesis attacks everyone unless he saw some S.T.A.R.S members he will kill him first before the civilians

Sniper hits him in the clearly armored vest. Sees it does nothing. Adjusts to hit him again in the vest in a slightly different spot. Is shocked to see that it still does nothing. STARS hires only the best.

I mean, you see blood. That isn’t so much armor as it a restraint for Nemesis. He doesn’t really need protection of any kind for weapons like that. Headshots would have caused no real effect either

Even police are told to $hoot them in the head if encountered with someone on PCP trying to ki11 them because they don't feel anything and a humans can go 4 minutes without a heartbeat. Plus he's WALKING up to the store.

2:25-2:28 I liked it how nemesis scanned at LJ as not part of STARS before, he leaves.
Always thought it would have been better if the sniper and STARS went for the head and it still didn’t kill him, would have really driven home how impossible he was to beat. Nemesis can still attack while headless near the end of the original game which always freaked me out.
His genes are enhanced for super regeneration. The headshot would have done nothing. Maybe if they had an explosive round to decapitate then prolly.
Honestly, Nemesis's voice doesn't seem that bad especially for a bad movie.

Or maybe probably they are far away from it and keep on missing the shot by 90% since there weapons are not powerful as they think they are even with those many soldiers. As far i can tell, this movie series are a bunch of hongdong and can't let the other unimportant characters do what the other main characters do.
In Re3 Remake. Nemesis falls to his knees when being shoot down even its not his head.

@@cottonhill6816 Tbf, they gave Nemesis an identity ( as in an actual human identity ) and a backstory as a friend of Alice in the movie, so it's no surprise they would appeal to what was left of his " human consciousness " at the end to give him some sort of redemption.

some old fanboys would complain about the fact he had a minigun in the movie, but i never saw the problem. it's like reasoning like the psycho lady of Misery at this state. perhaps it's surprising at first view , but it's logical when we Really think about it. in the og game he doesn't have one because of the rigid controls of the game , it would make it unplayable and too difficult , while his launcher rockets would be easier to avoid. Nemesis having a bullet firing weapôn would definitely gave him an advantage at some range. most of the time , he's slow , and even if he still can run, because of his immense weight , he would need many of energy to do so, and it would be hard for him to turn around in a place full of targets.
It's a shame how the rest of the movie/movies had little to no relevance to the games
Fun fact the Sniper guy was the only one aside from LJ to survive that encounter atleast till the next movie anyway

I think Anderson was trying to get the arcade shooter aesthetic. If you've played one, then you know that's how they take cover and some of them strafe away from cover too.

I think they were trying to hype Nemesis up before he fought Alice? smh That fight was so lack-luster.
Nemesis is a Tyrant class 102 the body armor is not for protection but to keep him from mutating out into a monstrosity they should kill him with a mega explosion not hurt him. Tyrants mutate in response to damage making them more deadly.

Just found out why I like that video that much. There was a period in my life where I did not really do training but keeped up easily among some of the best with years of it. I am aware of the fact that some things take time to prepare for, it's why I changed my life slowly but constant to a point where I become capable of more and more.
Ya know, I really admire his passion for Astronomy.. You can really tell that Nemesis loves everything about S.T.A.R.S and Space.. The boy really wanted to be an astronaut when he was a kid, but they denied him his dream because he was just too big. That lead him down this really dark road and it's the reason that he is so mad. He especially hates Jill, because she embarrassed him at Space Camp when they were kids and he's NEVER let it go..He wants to destroy her for making the class laugh at him.

Say what you want about the movie, but you gotta respect the fact that they went with a practical effects and faithful look for Nemesis instead of a CGI reimagination, which is the " meta " for videogame movies.

I lowkey like how they put Alice, BUT I hated how they made all the game characters seem so much weaker and more incompetent than Alice. Like i know she got injected with the T-virus but the way they really hyped her up and made her seem like this supercomputer was kinda wack. Not to mention claire's entrance wasn't that great in the third installment. The movies up until maybe Extinction, came from amazing to good to ok in my opinion, as there were so many loose ends in Extinction. Like what happened to Jill and Angela Ashford? Those things were left unsaid and we don't know if they are alive.
This entire movie franchise is nothing more than a big advertisement for the director's wife and how supposedly powerful and gorgeous she is

It gets even worse when you remember that these guys have survived normal zombies by shooting them in the head, but for some reason that sniper just forgets all of that? Just before Nemesis showed up he sniped a zombie on that same roof. With a headshot.
