I just did this on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L. The bolt that mounts the EGR to the block and hits the alternator could not be backed out fully on mine so I had to remove the belt and then the two 15mm bolts that hold the alternator on and then push the alternator down to get the bolt out. If I were to do it again I would remove the coolant reservoir, remove the airbox, take the alternator belt off, remove the two 15mm bolts that hold the alternator to the block, push the alternator down half an inch and then everything becomes super easy. It might sound like a lot of additional work, but the 15-20 minutes it takes to do this will save you a ton of time and make accessing and removing the EGR bolts simple.
Hey could I thread the pipe into the new EGR valve before I put the valve back into place. That way I don’t have to try and fight to like it back up after I installed the new one. The screws to mount the EGR valve look a lot easier to tighten than the pipe into the valve.

Got a 2006 jeep Grand Cherokee. 4.7 V8. I don't see most of the things you are talking about.
Not where it's located on a 2007 jeep cherokee laredo
Probably because it’s not 5.7L HEMI.
