    I would also remove the intake and use a pressure washer to blast out all the soot . Try to Vacum out soot from 6 intakes also. And then Get rid of the EGR. Your motor will last a long time. Also add a lubricant to the diesel as the CP4 pump can seize and it happend to my truck. Diesel in the USA has been stripped of nessary lubricants.

    was that your first time cleaning it? and how many miles did you have on the motor?

    • @TheEddysGarage
      @TheEddysGarage  7 месяцев назад

      Yes first clean and it was at approximately 90,000km.

    Did you notice any difference in performance, power-wise or fuel mileage-wise after this?

    • @TheEddysGarage
      @TheEddysGarage  Год назад

      I did the map sensor and throttle body at the same time and yes it ran smoother. Not sure what one made it run smoother but it was better. I need to take the entire intake off and clean the soot out one day. But it’s a bigger job.

    Thanks for your guide. But it is cleaning egr tube only. Does EGR Valve needed to be cleaned too?

    Great video thanks for the upload. Ive got a 2014 Diesel with 220,000kms on it my car has never had this or the map sensor cleaned, its starting to run abit average lately.
    Do you have any other tips that should be looked at that mighht not be covered in the normal servicing schedule? think my car is overdue for all of them.

      Probably need all the fluids changed. Diffs, transfer cases, transmission fluid and filter, coolant, brake fluid. It’s all easy (except maybe transmission) to do yourself.

      @@TheEddysGarage Thank you for the reply, i've had those done over the years was more thinking if theres any other little sensors and things like in this video that most mechanics arent going to look at. I'll have to do these 2 on a day off soon can only imagine what mine look like after 10 years.

      @@burt9990 the coolant lime that lies in the v of the engine under the intake manifold it going to need replacing about now. Get it before it pops and leaves you stranded. the other thing is the oil cooler. get it done at the same time before the seals go and the oil mixes with the coolant..

    just want to say thank you for the diesel cherokee vids. they made me confortable to take the tasks on myself. Did the EGR and map sensor this weekend with a breeze. Have you taken on Glow plugs yet? Thanks again for great content

      Haven’t done it yet. I think there are a few on the motor but haven’t really looked into it

    • @TheEddysGarage
      @TheEddysGarage  2 года назад

      @A M.a.S scan the codes and look them up online. That’s a good start and will narrow down what the problem is. Good luck 🤞

    • @TheEddysGarage
      @TheEddysGarage  2 года назад +1

      @A M.a.S you need to scan it with a code reader and look up the codes. The dash message doesn’t tell you the problem

    Quick question. I have a 2014 ecodiesel with oil going in the throttle body. Any idea what it could be ?

    • @TheEddysGarage
      @TheEddysGarage  Год назад +1

      A little oil is normal blow by. A lot of oil and the pcv valve might be stuffed.

    Hi Eddy, much appreciate the ecodiesel videos - you were a huge help on the headlight change. I need to do the bank 1 nox sensor given error code and am trying to figure out how to get access. Looks like I can remove the wiring module bracket mounted above it for the O2 sensor and then if I remove the O2 sensor immediately above the Nox, I should be able to get access. Ever cleaned the bank 1 Nox before? I am a little unsure of whether I should attempt.

    HUGE TIME SAVINGS! - Use carburetor cleaner spray. It'll take you longer to remove the tube than it does to clean it! Forget about soaking it for hours. You'll probably go through a can of the stuff.

    Is the build up due to just short commutes over long term? I heard it’s better to get these out on the highway to prevent build up.

    • @TheEddysGarage
      @TheEddysGarage  2 года назад

      We do mixed city and highway driving but it is a 2014 that we have owned since new with only 95,000km. From what I have seen they all get like this.
