- Catching mid-summer crappies on a northern MN lake. No kids, just the pup! Finding crappies in cabbage is pretty easy on most lakes in Minnesota. We used plastics and pitched jigs in the cabbage. Only fished for about an hour or so but caught a lot of nice fish! #wilderness #lakelife #nature #fishing #voyageurs #boating #crappie
Love it! Keep the vids coming!!
👌thanks for watching, sure was a good time!
Great vid…So much fun! Drooling over your boat! 🤤
Thanks bud! Wish I could say it was mine, borrowed the father-in-laws boat ha! Love watching your channel grow you guys are killin it!
Those are beautiful. So dark and gold. Just like all the fish up there. Here they are pretty light in the reservoirs, but nice and dark checking in the ponds. I remember the days when my state had great fishing, hunting, and football.
They take a certain finesse because they are such dainty biters! Yes very pretty, and blessed to be able to enjoy it.
How deep?
Probably 6-9 feet or so but only a foot or two below the surface, vertical jig or slip bobber, beware the vegetation!
People in Arkansas would be freaking out watching you releasing those croppy.🤣 Myself i rather eat yellow perch or walleye and bluegill. Watching from Arkansas 👍🏻🤣🙏🏻
Haha! I’m lucky enough to have plenty of fish to eat so a lot of them go back! I do love me some crappie though!
So do you anchor your boat jn the cabbage or just drift around in it ??
Yeah, you can either anchor there or troll around the edge. Either way, they seem to be in the cabbage come mid summer through early fall then back to typical deep water feeding areas suspended through winter.
