- Tips on how and where to catch spring crappie. Minnesota spring crappie fishing with Lake Osakis guide, Scott Merwin. We were on a mission to catch some fish for a meal and springtime crappie out of cold water is a favorite. Great and accessible spring time fishing opportunity that is widely available across the Midwest.
This is something anybody can do and have a lot of fun doing it! We like to practice selective harvest throwing crappie back that are over twelve inches and keeping ten to twelve inch fish for the table. Not only a lot of fun to find and catch but the end result is a meal fit for a king. Eating fresh fish you just caught has been shown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus!

Nice video guys!!!!
Thanks bud!
This weather pattern has them doing exactly what he said right now: moving back and forth as the daily temps go back and forth.
Yes and this weekend’s forecast is going to push them down.
@@JasonMitchellOutdoors You're exactly right! I might have to buy minnows :)
For sure👍
Thanks for your help. Another question: What do you mean by "proclamation"? Thanks again.
Free catalog put out by DNR that has all rules and regulations. If you trout fish, you will need a special trout stamp.
MN resident: 1st time getting fishing license. I'd lie bass or strout and general fish. What type of license do I need to have? Thanks.
Resident fishing license. Stop in your local sporting goods store and also make sure to get a proclamation. Good luck! You are in a great state for fishing!

Where are the life jackets?
My guess is in the boat storage compartments which is legal in MN.
Too many commercials
