James Barron my best memories as a small child were of dad and me fishing on the White River in southern Indiana. Caught my first fish there. Dad has been gone many years now but those memories are still alive. 😊
I'll do a ditto on going fishin' with THE FISHING MACHINE. It would be fun and an honor to go with him whether we caught any or not. However, not catching fish with him is doubtful.
His commentary makes ya feel like it's jus you and Jim on the boat, no gimmicks no fancy editing and graphics ...absolutely love your videos sir, thank you
You see brainless people getting rich from videos where they catch nothing. This is the man should be getting the payouts! The random humor and wholesomeness is awesome.
Nick Lopez We were wait on you to find him 👋...... Now we’re all (you included) wait on the rest of the fishing 🎣 world to find him to.... Then we can fix the country, and the world 🗺..... lol. Welcome home.
Gunner, I was a teacher and I think Richard is a GREAT teacher. Each video has an objective and a plan. I have learned so much from him and enjoy watching his videos multiple times because they are so filled with information and tips. Also, he really doesn’t waste a lot of time getting his points across. I think I could name at least 25 major things I have learned from him. And he is funny, as well as humble and smart.
Your videos are truly a breath of fresh air. I know what you mean when you talk about pausing to enjoy the scenery, I often find myself doing the same thing and enjoying God's great creations.
Have you ever noticed how people who are really truly professionals at something can make every little detail look so easy? Mr. Gene does it in every video. I love watching for that very reason. He is the Tiger Woods of Southern fishing. Smoooooth. And very humble. Thanks Mr. Gene for sharing these videos!
My pop is a retired carpenter and avid fisherman. His hands were as nasty as 80 grit sandpaper. I've noticed early videos you have those same rough and cracked hands. But now I see they are looking better. I know what that signifies and I am so very happy for you, Richard.
Not comparing you based on age at all, but the way you talk when you fish reminds me of my grandpa. Same EXACT sense of humor and same sense of appreciation of the great outdoors. He served honorably in WW2 and he's the one who got me into fishing. We shared many amazing fishing trips together before the Good Lord took him home. When I think about him and start missing him I come to watch your videos. Keep doing what you do, sir.
Richard, your fishing videos remind me of why I first got in to fishing a long long time ago. It was because it was fun. Competitive fishing can be too, but a lot of times, it puts stress into it that takes the relaxation out and watching you reminds me of what it's actually for. Thank you for that. It would be really great to fish with you. Even more than any great and famous tournament guys.
What a wonderful southern spirit this gentleman has. He is a tribute to the southern folk from whom he sprang. I'm sure his mama is real proud of how he turned out and how much love he spreads into the world.
I recently bought a 6 foot Eagle Claw ultralight rod based on your recommendation during your livestream. Paired it with a Shimano Syncopate reel. $75 for the rig and it instantly became one of my favorite setups. Casts tiny lures a mile. Thanks, Richard!
Richard I just gotta say I was never a very good crappie fisherman until I started watching your videos and using your techniques and equipment. I'm a die hard Abu Garcia fanatic so I strictly use their rods and reels, but I love that I have easily doubled the amount of crappie I've caught this year than any other year! Thanks Richard!!
Said it before, saying it again, watching you fish, watching you be mindful of the creation and beauty puts a soul at peace. You're the best part of social media. I appreciate you and thank you for teaching me how to fish and enjoy boating at 58 years old. My first fish, crappie, I caught, was from your guidance.
This is the best fishing channel online .. my son ay 12 yrs old in this day and age will put the games and phone down to go fishing ... we are blessed to have Richard showing us easy cheap methods to fish ... me and my son watch this channel together and try these techniques they put the fish in our boat we live in Tennessee...Richard we thank you for sharing your fishing techniques you have brought me and my son together fishing cause it's good for us .. can't wait for the next upload god bless you ...
I tried your slow reeling technique today in Lake Norman before the rain came in and sure enough it’s just a thump and then you got them. Thank you for your videos sir. Your enthusiasm and positivity keeps me motivated to get out there when I can. Hope you had a great thanksgiving. God bless you brother.
Richard Gene, I live in West Salem Oh, Dad was from Cullman Al, hope to make it to lake Gunerville some day. You are so down to earth, just love your show, God Bless.
Richard something I learned probably 40 years a go was to rub a new jig body on a crappie that was in the live well. I guess it neutralized the factory smell. Dad and I were fishing and every time an old jig would get torn up it would take a while to start catching on a new jig body. If I rubbed my new jig body on a crappie it'd work immediately. If they made scent sprays back then we didn't have them. I still have the Lowe boat w/ white Johnson 40 in the basement that we were in that day.
You truly are a fishing machine, and the entertainment value is unparalleled, thanks for helping this dude here learn a little bit more about swamp donkeys. Best fishing channel out there.
The legend gene the fishin machine! You should do more ads! Your the only person who makes GOOD fishing videos and you deserve much more! We the followers won’t mind more ads to bring in more income! I’d watch an hour of ads to see 20 secs of Elmo!!!
Man it's refreshing to get back to real fishing dropping all the high Tech bull crap, dropping all the tournament bull crap, and just get back to some real damn fishing love it God-bless..
Great show Elmo, so glad you could take Richard Gene crappie fishing with you. I really appreciate the information. I grew up fishing with my Dad and have learned a lot over the years. And still learning from Richard Gene. Again great show and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Woo....Woo! Watched Richard catch some BIG catfish with my 3 and 7 year old grandsons watching with me!The 7 year old just had a big grin, and the 3 year old said... I wanna go fishin grandpa! Thanks for the fun Richard!
Richard, I'll say this I have never had any interest in subscribing to a youtube page and get blown up with notifications. That has changed today. Keep the videos rolling bub, makes my down time so much better.
I am addicted to this channel , It's the only one I've turned notifications on. The apparel looks great. I'm going to check that out. I would love to see a " Fishin' with Elmo" or some kind of slogan stickers, " Fishin' cuz it's good fer yah!" . This man works hard for his views.
Thank you for acknowledging that God made the beautiful lakes and rivers full of fish for mankind to enjoy. You enjoy what was made for you Richard. Love your videos brother
Great video! Couldn’t agree with you more about the beauty of fishing and it’s surroundings. Great to see a gentleman like yourself still appreciating the simple joys in life. Keep up the great videos!

It's always great to be able to get out fishing and admire the beauty of God's creation. Catching fish while doing that is just the bonus. Love your videos RG and always look forward to the next one. Thanks for sharing.
I usually catch crappie by accident, caught them on all sorts of stuff but I'm trying to learn how to target them. There's a little local crappie tournament coming up. I like and appreciate your videos!
I love watching your line jump before you set the hook. On most of the crappie that I catch, I never feel the fish until I set the hook. Hi vis line and watch it like a hawk. Grin.n
Your simply the best all around fisherman, and your right no other sport can compare to fishing it's the top sport in the world more people fish than watch other sports, you keep doing what you're doing Richard you are the fishing machine.
Nice video Richard. I’ve learned an awful lot about fishing for crappie from your videos. With what I’ve taken from you I’ve been rewarded a state citations for catching a black crappie 18 inches, 2.7 lbs. Thank you sir.
God bless you brother, I haven't seen 50-60 degree water in at least a month and a half. Sittin here twiddlin my thumbs just waitin for some ice to set up. Then I can chase those crappies! In the mean time, I can watch you take care of things.
I just love watching your videos. Just a man in his boat enjoying life the right way. That first slab would've been heading to my frying pan though. Nice crappie! Edit:The second one too 😩
i wanna say thank you for your channel i know this video is out dated but your content is so great, alot of information that other will no give. enjoy hope for many more tight lines
Love the video, Richard. The fun thing in watching this is you know your stuff. You know what kind of fish you got when they strike, something my grandpa taught me in lower Minnesota when I was little. Be a thrill to fish with you someday.

I miss the days that me and my dad would go fishing, even if we didn't get a single bite. I had him and he had me. God Speed and RIP pops.
I know how you feel about that , same here with me .
You sure know how hit the soft spots☹😥
Never had a dad to take me fishing , I need to spend more time fishing with my son this year ...
That's why my dad always took some beer.
Nothing better than beer, boat, and catching fish.
James Barron my best memories as a small child were of dad and me fishing on the White River in southern Indiana. Caught my first fish there. Dad has been gone many years now but those memories are still alive. 😊
I've got to be honest, you are the kind of person I would love to just spend a day fishing with and talking to and learning from.
So true
Facts!!
Any time I need a pick me up I watch your posts been in TN for 2 years now Hope and pray I get to go fishing
I'll do a ditto on going fishin' with THE FISHING MACHINE. It would be fun and an honor to go with him whether we caught any or not. However, not catching fish with him is doubtful.

His commentary makes ya feel like it's jus you and Jim on the boat, no gimmicks no fancy editing and graphics ...absolutely love your videos sir, thank you
“It makes me nervous when my wife screams at me” that little clip had me laughing so hard🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'll have to give up surfing (for the most part) but I'd rather dedicate my time to the greatest sport on earth..fishing!
A sport 2nd to none.
