This could be a great mini series, once a week we could get a "Geology lesson of the day." Thanks Dan!
Tôi cũng nghĩ như bạn. Đó là những bài học thú vị❤
The garnet group consists of a bunch of minerals, but what they have in common is that the atoms that make up the lattice are all arranged in a particular way. If you want to know more, look up "garnet unit cell structure".
Its always nice to be reminded of things I learned in minerology.
Colour change garnets of the pyrope-spessartine series can sometimes be blue. Although they are very rare.
Awesome lesson, Dan! Thank you for sharing as I always learn something new from you. Warm hugs from Alabama ❤️
I love these geology lesson of the day. Thanks for them :)
I love those garnets! 😊 they are the timeless gemstone!
Wow I had no idea garnets we're a family of minerals. Great lesson Dan, thank you from Wales 🏴
This is garnet
Back together
This makes garnets fusion so much sweeter
Always informative and fun. 🏆
Thank you for the video! 🙂
What I would really like to know, what is the best riffle design, mat or matting, and/or sluice box configuration to “catch or capture” Garnets or any gem stones.??
I’ll never miss a video Dan 🔥🔥❤️❤️
THANKYOU I LOVE LEARNIMG ABOUT MINERAL AND GEM STONES❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😅😅😊
Do a series man 🗣️❗️
I used to work with yttrium aluminum garnets.
Awsome eventually I'll learn what was in my paydirt 😂. I can pick it... can't name it 😅. Thanks Dan ❤
Love the GLOTD! Thanks Dan!
A very great lesson Dan! 🤘
Thanks the lesson, Dan. Pretty cool.
Really enjoy your programs....I found a beautiful quarter sized almandine in the matrix from Mt Apatite in Maine....be well and rock on♥️♥️✌️
Gosh Garnet's a Plenty 😂😅!
I need Purple, Blue, Red, Orange, Green and Yellow Garnet to put in my collection.
Thanks Dan, I can use the play control slider to toggle to sections of the video and there’s buttons on the side of the phone for volume. 😊 Like.
My daughter has a liking for garnets, now there’s more than just the common red here, will be looking for all the colours. Collect them all so they say. Thanks for the video. Midwest Western Australia
Dang it Dan. Now I have more questions. 😊
I never knew this, thanks for the lesson Dan ive truly learned alot from your channel!
This is garnet, this is garnet, this is garnet, this is garnet, this is garnet, this is garnet. /ref
THANK YOU Dan! I was wondering where these green garnets were coming from, that are being advertised, on the internet. I never knew that that it was a family grouping.
Tsavorite garnets found in the Tsavo National Park region in Africa
😮 wow So interesting ❤
Ther is blue garnets too…the rarest of the ALL !!!
Number 1.
Garnets are usually fusions
Great Vid Dan. What garnet is most associated with diamonds. Is it pyrope garnet?
The Almandine are the one's I find a LOT here in N.H. 😁👍
Ever find any gem quality ones you want to sell?
Amazing learning for me today. I thought they only came in dark red. Does the other colours hold the same value as the red ones?
danhurd what is the size of your sieve that you made and that you use to find garnet?
I'm also subscribed
Woah this is cool, been contemplating a geology minor
Go for it! The gems and gold are everywhere you look if you are in the know.
I'm a chem major, minoring in geology and physics. Go for it, it's fun!
Technically wouldn't it be a gemology lesson of the day😂lol and yes they have found a color change garnet that changes to blue. If You want to have fun 😊 and really want to confuse people talk about tourmaline it could be a year long video by itself.
Check out the masassi blue garnet. This garnet is the only one with Alexandrite characteristics of color change.....
Yep there are blue garnets too.
Kool.
Valeu👍
I have the ref one❤
Silicates with different metals that provides the color?
Dans stage name should be Garnet 😂give us a warm welcome the man from the Frazer river and his big shovel and sifters GARNET 😂😂
its prehistoric petrified gummies !
If its not a garnet its a darnet!
Is there a way to tell between garnets and say peridot? Or is there something in the structure that tells someone it’s a garnet of whatever colour?
Yeah absolutely. They don't form in the same cell structures therefore the final product is a repeating growth pattern that is easily identified. Most minerals have at least one telltale sign where you can look and know .
Here i was thinkin they were made up of rubies and sapphires 🤔
Well google says blue garnets are only naturally occurring and extremely rare.
You guys know Steven universe
👍
Where would you buy one? That's real? These look cool
Hi.. how can I reach you ?
I have a big blue garnet but it’s going to cost you 2000.00 a ounce because you’re not going to find another one!
Blue is like 3 billion follar per kilo
He’s a basit bawl pwayer
Lapis is blue found only in afghanistan
You look like a geologist 😅
Yes. They are Silicate Minerals.
I hate youtube shorts. vertical video with no play control and no volume control. Dan, please just make regular videos. Disliked without even watching
If you don't like the short form videos, just dont watch them. I still make weekly long form videos, the short form are just bonuses for those who like them.
There is a play control at the bottom and there’s also volume control in shorts
I dissagree. The shorts are great, some are like previews for the main event, some are just shorts. Keep up the genuine aspect of what you do Dan. We appreciate it! I found my first picker today!
So this is what garnet for steven universe is made out of
So is hessonite a type of spessartine and tsavorite a thpe of uvarovite?
Darnet
I’m no expert, but the video literally shows a piece of blue garnet unless that is something else🤷🏻♂️
