    I just found your channel. I am so glad you decided to post this. I needed a recipe for sculpture that would not crack. You are such a good teacher. I hope you are OK since you haven’t posted anything in a year I send blessings to you.🙏

    This is probably best for edible cake decoration, and not a clay to use for art. I might try it for cakes!

    Thank you for sharing,I’ve made the clay followed your receipt,but I didn’t have shorting so I used regular vegetable cooking oil instead,the clay was no shrink definitely,but super sticky,I put a lot rice flour to knete it but didn’t work,only could use a lot corn starch to unstick it while I rolled it thin.is it because of I didn’t use shortening?or can I use less glutinous rice flour,but rice flour instead?
    PS I need the clay to make flowers so it has to be think and nonstick 😢

    How does it hold up in a very humid environment

    • @katherinaperezart
      @katherinaperezart  3 года назад +1

      Because Tylosa acts as a hardening agent under any circumstance.

    First I saw clay is made without glue using, I think rice starch works as glue .

    You’re so talented! Can I please ask what was the powder ingredient from the pot? I can get both flours, shortening and possibly corn syrup but probably glucose. I just am unsure of the other information. I’d love to try this recipe for art with children. They get so disappointed when their models crack. I will look forward to hearing from you. Can you varnish these and paint them? Many Thanks ❤

      Hi, the list of ingredients is in the ‘show more’ under the video. I think you might be referring to the tylose/cmc powder. Hope this helps 😊

    Estimada Katherina, está receta la estuve buscando hace años, si no me equivoco es la que usan en China para hacer esculturas comestibles muy realistas verdad? Me parece que hay dos versiones de esta masa de arroz glutinoso, esta que preparas y una que se cocina al vapor.
    Tengo una consulta, puedo usar glucosa en lugar de corn syrup? Gracias de antemano.

    • @katherinaperezart
      @katherinaperezart  2 года назад +2

      Si si puedes sustituir con glucosa. A esta receta solo hay que agregarle un conservante, limon o vinagre. Porque la deje en bolsa por 1 mes y se dano. Por lo demas es super buena porque no se encoge y ese era el detlle que tambien he vendio tratando de lograr en las recetas.

    I like the result.strong and hardening.Only one question,it makes from corn syrup,I just worry rat or ants will eat it.Is it gonna happen?

      Hi, dont worry they dont like things super duper sweet. Apart of that... I have many figures modeled with fondant (10 years ago)and never so far I had a problem even of a mosquito/aints aound these.

      They will probably because of rice flour + sugar, there are "sugar ants". Probably best to leave this for cake decorating and not for your sculptures in art.
