Hi, I've tried with your recipe. It's easy cause I don't have to cook it. However, my work has some cracks and it may droop a little so I must make a skeleton then cover it with the porcelain. Any advise to make a smoother surface and not cracking?
Hi Noughts, this recipe works well for pieces without inside structures because the covering layer is to thin by hence it will shrink and crack. I have created a recipe that doesn't crack and not shrinking, I have tested..soon will post it here. The new porcelain is the best for making dolls and cover skeleton with thin layers.
@@katherinaperezart Do you know why while I leave it to dry, instead of shrinking it expands and bulges cause it to crack. The bottom part became slightly rounded so it can't lay flat.
@@kenji9324, if it expands maybe is because of air bubbles trapped which enlarge to the point to crack. When you say the "bottom part" of what? ...specifically what do you mean
Hi can you use Glutinous Rice Flour instead of regular rice flour? I am curious what different rice flour will do for the end result. Also can you tell me how strong this clay is when fully dry. Thanks for a great video.
if I find glutinous rice flour here I will try it...the recipe in subject dries super hard, but of course if a delicate piece falls down it will break.
@@katherinaperezart thanks for the videos. The glutinous rice is sometimes called sticky rice or sweet rice, I think they are probably all types of sushi rice. Does it shrink when dry? Does it need to go in the refrigerator and how long will it keep before getting hard or spoiled please?
Never in the refrigerator. Don't shrink if the coat(layer) is up to 0.5mm. I did my last batch 4 months ago and is good as new (very soft).
