Today we bought a gaming PC on eBay from a seller with some fairly bad feedback. Surprisingly the system for the price seems amazing, featuring a Ryzen 9 5950x and a Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti…. for $555.00 total!? Let’s see if this is an amazing deal or if it is too good to be true!

UPDATE - We did get a replacement GTX 1070 TI, but it is a two fan Zotac model not the same as the one in this system...better than nothing I guess

Matter of opinion lol I think a lot of hate came from crypto miners. honestly, The build of my rtx3060 feels nice and solid. Fans still function and the temps on it are awesome all the time. backed with a good warranty and ordered directly from site. I really got nothin ' to complain about. next you're going to tell me you're using a PNY graphics card. lol @@DBDRFzero

The seller basically says that if you have any issues then you should file a complaint with UPS because it's insured for $300...yeah, you're not likely to get any accountability when they are preemptively trying to blame UPS for any issues from the very start lol

@@axtran Exactly. I saw that in their description on the ebay listing and feels like a huge red flag. They're basically telling you that they will not take any responsibility once they get your money.
He did say he will send a new GPU to his address or to raise it to UPS. Read guys
@@AbhishekK063 The ebay listing says that if there are any issues to file a claim with UPS. That is what the ebay listing said when I read it at the time of my comment. That's a huge red flag. UPS had nothing to do with it judging by the packaging. He's sending out faulty PC's and then trying to avoid any real accountability and advising people to just file a claim with UPS since "it's insured for $300". (again, according to what the ebay listing says or at least said at the time I posted my original comment)
the SELLER is the one who is responsible for filing a claim with UPS, not the buyer. What's supposed to happen in this situation is the buyer returns their damaged item back to the seller, buyer is refunded, and then the seller can deal with filing the claim if they want to. UPS isnt really at fault here, the pc was just not packaged properly. The box wasn't even damaged, most packages will slide around in shipping so the seller needs to pack things well to accommodate for that. I hate when sellers try to pull this shit, its happened to me before@@AbhishekK063
The TT V21 is one of our favourite cases! We even awarded it 👍🏻 love the way you can even rotate the case so the hardware sits in normal orientation.
man.. if only the 1070 was in decent condition.. That would have made this a great deal.

Honestly just looking at this deal as a cpu-motherboard-powersupply combo is pretty cool. Mostly people aren't getting it for the gpu anyways. Also just wanted to salute Jackson's Halo Infinite victory. Way to go dude!

lmao i thought it was weird too this listing was actually in my watchlist because i found it so weird and the description didnt really sound any less weird so i didnt really look back at it but you guys appear to have snagged one. glad i passed on it with the amount of difficulties you guys were having. the lack of storage and os was in the listing but the gpu issue and how everything was packed i wouldnt have been too pleased

Actually the pairing with the 7700XT replacement was interesting. That 1070 was toast, without it the deal is myeh. Not sure if anything got swapped/reimbursed but I don't expect much.

Using a Hyper 212 to cool a 5950X is a bold strategy...
It's a 105w CPU. I run the 5800x also a 105w CPU with a Hyper 212 Evo. It works fine. I see lower temps than they got. Perhaps this pre-built needs new thermal paste.
I bet the replacement GPU is going to not be the same if the seller sends you one.
I still think it is a super deal, the seller is sending a different card. I do not think that filing a claim with UPS will work, since the box itself was in good condition from what I could tell. It is too bad the card was bent the way it is. Also, team, good to see you brought out the little brother of the 4070 killer. My impressions with that 7700xt are correct, from what I can tell. It is a great mid-range card. Now, the pricing here in Canada is still ridiculous but better times ahead (I hope).

5950X was/is popular in datacenters as a server CPU (relatively cheap 16c/32t) . It is likely they got them for there.
Guys really you should test the GPU' without FSR, DLSS or XESS turned on. Show the raw power then show what we can get when turning those settings on

Bruh, 1070ti is WAY faster than a 1660 Super. Why would you say they’re equal??
Also, it’s clear what’s going on here. They’re old mining CPU’s and gpu’s. A way for them to offload they’re old hardware. Also explains why there’s no IO shield on the motherboards. Miners don’t use them for the mining rigs and they get tossed.

those amd chips are supposed to run that hot and they cool off instantly. it's a known thing

@@jdspencer60 that is the 7000 series. Not the 5000. 5000 was still pretty efficient, that’s why it ran better when he made an adjustment.
I run a 5800x on the same cooler. It is 105w same as the 5950x but I never see temps anywhere near this. My 5800x runs so cool, I am having a really difficult time justifying a water cooler. Just not seeing it get hot as it is, not even playing Starfield. So something has to be wrong with the cooler they got.
That cpu running at 92C during the entire gaming session is just questionable, they must also have messed up or cheaped out on the cooler.
The I/O shield was missing on the ebay listing pictures if you actually watched the listing before buying.
I was probably a streaming PC based on the high end CPU and the GPU just being used for NV link. That would be the only use case I see for the setup and some of these streaming houses have 5 or more people living there!
That many boxes sounds like a game streaming group or Vtuber group. Each performer would have two or three of these. Plus a couple more for each editor or producer. And probably at least a whole setup or two standing by as hot spares. But just a guess.
Revising an old pc with 5950X, cooler, more memory, new motherboard and maybe graphics card to replace the 1070Ti. Cost about what you spent.
Hella great deal, the CPU is already about 500EUR new where I live.

I have this excellent case. It’s versatile, has good airflow, and cable management is simple.
That cpu was running HOT as heck
I picked up my Ryzen 9 5950X for 160.00 via ebay. Seller listed the chip as defective (boot loop). I slotted the chip into my Msi B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC and the system went into Bios and then boot looped a couple of times. I changed a few setting on the chip via bios and then the rig booted to Windows, no real problems with it since then. Quite the deal!
similar think happened to me. got a 13900k for 180+tax that had reported blue screens on ebay. I bought it to test and it works fine just needed so more voltage

Just slap a cheap AIO on that 5950X and you will have yourself a very solid rig, for a great price. Nice find.
Seller: s4drivers 87.5% positive feedback (169). Item: DOA, not in working order as product description. No seller accountability, defers blame on USPS shipping even though there is no damage to outer packaging or any of the internal parts inside the well packaged product. Not the only review with the same reoccurring issue.

I miss my 5950x such a ridiculous cpu but it was faulty and couldn't be bothered swapping cpus out again so the 1800x is staying

The cheapest 5950x I see on ebay is about 400 bucks for CPU alone. This was a GREAT deal on these.

100%. As long as the pins are good and the proc actually works, it should be good. They are thermally protected so it will not allow itself to burn, normally. A used 5xxx is a great option.
When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it was built in the Core V1 mini itx case. I have used the V1 a couple times and every pic I built in it ran extremely hot. No airspace at all. Glad I was wrong given the hardware, lol.

Honestly even with the damaged GPU and the Bent Cooler. Even dropping the 7700xt into it your still saving a bit of money when you take into consideration the RRP of the CPU, PSU, Motherboard, if you were to source all of those new what it would probably cost around $300-500 More depending on where you buy from especially with the market still kinda up in the air atm and like you said with the price of the CPU new alone even with a a couple of damaged components (yea it sucks) but you still got extra for pretty much less cant complain too much
They did say that the value of the rest of the working components was around $786 19:30. So even with the defective gpu it was still worth it.
A 5950X, a 1070 Ti, 4 GB of RAM, such a weird, extremely unbalanced build. Whatever madness encouraged this needs to be stopped.

My favorite MATX case and motherboard. Wish I had picked up another MB as they are going for like 200+ used now.
Its basicly made for E sports gaming. Like fortnite , LOL or csgo. Just need a good cpu and a working gpu to get a lot fps.

I have that case in my previous build, its roomy and nice with lots of options but the usb ports and the clips that hold the usb mounting are fragile, also who in their right mind pairs that cpu with only 4gb of ram.

It might have seemed like a bargain but they made back money on their PC. while you lost money in a value-less sale... yes the CPU is about $450 brand new. but a new case is also about $54. and that case is a little old and dusty. you needed new ram and new storage. I don't think the case and mother board or the powersupply is worth the price of this case. especially because you can get free powersupplies if you know where to look..
The seller clearly had a budget when building this PC and they clearly know what that 5950x costs.. they basically sold you the CPU for Retail price and gave you a free case, motherboard and powersupply.. they knew the GPU didn't work. this PC should have been $399

considering the prices of powersupply, CPU and Mobo etc, id say its an "Ok" deal, atleast for ppl that know what they are dealing with and can upgrade/add stuff themselfs tbh, else, better keep the fingers of it imo

Rock the RX 6700 XT basically an RTX 3070
why are yall still using FSR/ balanced with a 7700xt? Even the most casual of COD players won't opt for such a blurry image, especially when having a capable graphics such as the 7700xt. Judging by the usage, you probably get the same amount of FPS without fsr while maintaining a much cleaner image. FSR balanced looks terrible at 1440p, and this coming from a Radeon fan lol.
