    Bro, you fill an AMAZING niche within the PC community, such a big fan.
    My current build (originally i7 9700, B365M, 16GB HyperX DDR4 RAM, GTX 1660ti, and Corsair 650w Gold) was all sourced from a friend who upgraded. A deep clean, a 48 dollar 32GB HyperX RAM upgrade, 200 dollar Cyber Monday 6650XT, and a re-paste later, and I have a machine for $650 (total after new GPU and RAM upgrade) that runs Baulders gate 3 on Ultra preset at 96 fps! Never doubt resourcefulness! (and a bit of luck)
    Had it for 3 years almost, and in a year or two, I plan on upgrading the CPU/MOBO and actually taking advantage of that PCIe Gen4 on my 6650XT! (still awesome performance as is, but my mobo and 9700 chipset doesn't support Gen4)

    • @cithr0963

      You can get an i5-12600k or i5-13600k or even a ryzen 7600x in the future and see a lot of performance increase ;P

    • @dylanherron3963
      @dylanherron3963 Год назад +2

      @@cithr0963 whats wild is, the uplift on a GTX 1660ti ALONE at PCIe Gen3 is like 25 percent, I'm stoked at the future upgrade. AM5 motherboards will be 60 bucks brand new, and I'll have a 12-core 24 thread processor for 40% launch price

    • @hippobreath3703
      @hippobreath3703 Год назад +2

      @@cithr0963i agree. 12th/13th gen motherboard with pcie 5.0 and ddr5 will be future proof for a while too. But gotta buy new ram and cpu on top of that which is pricey

    • @dylanherron3963
      @dylanherron3963 Год назад +2

      @@hippobreath3703 that's the unfortunate part about my build, is that only in the last 4 years there's been like 4 generational increases from RAM, PCIe Gen4/5, and CPU socket. But, with performance like this, who caaaaares to wait a year or so and let all these components come down even more so, eh!? I look forward to DDR5 coming down even lower, especially because AMD chips seem to favor RAM clock speeds. (AMD will most likely be my next umbrella for upgrade, just because of price/performance. My i7 9700 hasn't aged too gracefully, and hasn't fallen much AT ALL in price)

    • @gametime2473
      @gametime2473 Год назад +1

      PCI gen 4 will make ZERO difference. No card made can even come close to saturating a PCIE Gen3. Don't waste your money unless you are upgrading to get a faster CPU / RAM etc. If you are going to spend that much on a CPU and MOBO, you are probably going to want to upgrade that 6650XT as well lol. It never ends.

    I also have a ryzen 5 7600 with this exact same case. The stock cooler holds back the cpu badly. I've set a negative pbo curve and a thermal limit to somewhat offset this issue, but it still wasn't the best.
    Then I've got an arctic II 360 AIO, and it changed everything. Now I can OC it without reaching anywhere near 70°C and the FPS values went through the roof :)
    You don't have to go for an AIO like I did, I only chose this because it is one of the quitest, but you definitely need something other than the stock ryzen cooler. I think ID colling has some amazing deals, like the se 224 xt.

Eventually after like 6 hours everything was perfect. I did use different fans cause the ones he used didn’t have rgb lights in the back or on top. The case did come with 3 in the front but I wanted more within the case. And that’s the only difference. I also did pick the better options he put on his website for this build cause I wanted the best pc possible and my girlfriend really didn’t care about the budget so I went all out on this. Huge thanks for the build and a huge thanks to my girl for buying me the build 😂.

    I personally would have taken a 5600X from MC for $130 and used the extra $100 or so you spent on that 7600X and put it towards a better GPU. for $330 you could have gotten a ASRock intel Arc A770 w/ 16GB of VRAM or a PowerColor RX 6700XT with 12GB of VRAM. I think that would have given you better performance. The 5600X is fast enough not to bottleneck any of those cards. Just my thoughts though. In the end it subjective and each person does it a little different. Your build isn't bad at all. Its still a great build.

    Man, seeing these prices is such a heavenly sightseeing. The prices dropping over the past few months has been such a good thing for us gamers.
    Meanwhile here in Brazil, things are still expensive af. Take for example the RX 6650XT, it is R$ 1,750 ( around 354 $ ). It's so hard trying to build something here that's actually decent and it would last for some years.
    Welp, I'm saving a little bit of money and selling my old pc to try and upgrade from a LGA 1155 DDR3 to AM4 DDR4, hopefully by the end of the year it comes true.
    Great vid as always, love your builds. Putting your video while doing something else is so good and pleasing to ear, thank you! :D

      @keeperofthegood Год назад

      Yea prices are marginally down here in Canada too, but it is dead technology and will be replaced in less than 2 years with DDR6-AM6 with the sick pricing all over again. Overall NOTHING needs more than an AM4/DDR4 system, not even the top end five games if people can admit to not be script players. Everything done outside of bleeding edge industry does not need more than DDR4 era products.

    What are your thoughts on a mostly AliExpress build? I'm looking at the Ryzen 5 7500f and Gigabyte Mobo for $225, 2x8 16Gb DDR5 4800, 1tb nvme and assassin type CPU cooler for another $75. Rx 5500xt for $99, local case and PSU for ~$110. A little under $600 for a nice AM5 setup. Free shipping on everything. But 30 day wait time.

    Dang I hadn’t heard of the 7500f before, nor do I recall having seen benchmarks from any of the big tech reviewers on youtube, my impression was that generally AMD was losing in the sub $200 CPU market, would be curious to see how this compares to Intel for price

    • @itsatrap4986
      @itsatrap4986 Год назад +1

      Hardware Unboxed has a 7500F vs 13400 review for about 1 month now. That's on you for not researching and thinking Intel is better since you said AMD is losing in the sub $200 market which is highly falsified and far from the truth.

    • @ImOnMy116
      @ImOnMy116 Год назад

      @@itsatrap4986 Dang man, that’s a pretty aggressive response, I am subscribed to HU, though evidently missed that vid. To be clear, I’m not currently looking to build a system, nor did I claim in my original comment to be up-to-date about the state of the current market or giving any sort of recommendation to people. I’m genuinely happy to hear of AMD offering a sub-$200 present gen architecture 6 core. I believe at one point not terribly long ago (within the last year or two), there were plenty of folks recommending an 11400f/12400f for budget builds that used a discrete GPU. Here’s to hoping the competition continues to drive higher performance and more consumer-friendly pricing!

    • @itsatrap4986
      @itsatrap4986 Год назад +1

      You mentioned intel but not AMD. Why is that? The 5500 and 5600 has been killing it in the not just budget but, AMD as a company, CPU market for the last 7 years. The 5600 has been sub $150, usually $130, for about a year now and overall cost is cheaper with a plethora of cheap AM4 boards than the intel equivalent. There is competition but why do people only talk about Intel? Bottomline is people need to do their homework and research in parts and compare them to the competition instead going by word of mouth or just blindly following a brand.
      A good channel to keep updated for parts and price breakdowns is PC Builder. He also does "boost my builds" where people submit their parts list and he boosts it for them.

    • @ImOnMy116
      @ImOnMy116 Год назад

      @@itsatrap4986 honestly your response is almost comical and filled with false assumptions. Firstly, I did mention AMD in my original comment. I also have an AMD CPU in my current build (5800X) and have built a system for a friend with a 5600X (quite a while ago at this point admittedly). I’m glad AMD discounts their previous gen CPUs, but generally their sub-$200 offerings have been discounted previous gen architecture parts. The 5600X released in 11/2020, and the 5600 released nearly 1.5 yrs later (4/2022). As I said above, it’s great to see AMD offering the current gen CPU architecture at a sub-$200 price point when the reality is that many games are still heavily relying on single-threaded performance. It’s evident you were out for blood from your original response, I’m too old to fight with trolls these days, but to reiterate, kudos to Oz for helping improve exposure for this CPU. I hope that it sells well and encourages AMD to offer more sub-$200 products based on their latest architecture.
