I am so glad I came across your video. This has helped me immensely as the instructions were a disaster from the get go LOL first step told me to add these things with a straight line across (don’t know the name) but into these holes when it wasn’t even supposed to go in until later on and I barely got them out but managed then I was able to put the Alex desk together properly thanks to you! You saved me so much time. I would have probably been on the floor for who knows how many additional hours. Thank you so much. If anyone I know ever gets this desk I will 1000% refer them to this video!!!

To anyone who checked the comments before starting, I recommend starting with the drawers themselves first rather than the entire unit. It makes things a lot easier and you can check and make sure that the fat drawers actually fit on the side your doing it. If you're like me after you build the first one your going to turn off the audio and listen to something else while building and just watch the video when needed in which case, I don't know how I did it, but I flipped the ends by accident and it made it so that the drawers did not all fit, so I had to undo the top and the bottom and flip them. Building the drawers will save you a lot of time by allowing you to check first and then continue on

Thank you! I had kept something in the lowest drawer. The damn package stood-up as the upper drawer was closed. This made it impossible to close the upper drawer, and the lower drawer was stuck! This video has helped me know how to take out the drawers and sort this mess up. Thanks!

Is there anything we can do to make the door to open the whole way instead of stopping half way? I know this is probably to avoid the unit from falling forward but I am placing a desk top on top of two of these units with some heavy items on top. Thank you.

I didn’t know these drawers we’re gonna be so hard to assemble. I bought them cuz they looked so simple
Its so easy and can confirm ikea is weird adding extra holes 🤷
Also don't be afraid to use a hammer gently to put the cabinet together. They are pretty solid and paired with a husky tabletop from homedepot im happy with the look

bro i fucked up so hard when u said “im building it this way so im doing it like this if u doing it for something else build it like this” now my drawers are upside down.
Edit: Don’t put the Bottom legs on where he’s putting his on if ur using urs for a desk. that’s where i fkd up

so what i did was i put the legs exactly how he did in the vid... He didn't put the legs on the way we have to.. we have to put ours on the opposite way he did. So i took them off put them on the opposite side and just flipped it over..@@FspeterbotTsb

I got 4 big screws left. I'm guessing it's for the bottom part. If you would use it as a desk which would be the top instead

One of my drawers slits at the bottom which is supposed to have pre screwed screws is missing one, and I can’t find any match😅

Hey did you try to push the in all the way after that screw them, if that didn’t work pull the metal part back manually
I fked my knee putting this together, looks sick though now that it’s built
i messed up on the orientation twice when putting the top and bottom part xD
built 2 by myself, and it was pretty easy , but 1 of the units has it's drawers a bit unaligned when closed , haw can I straighten them?

Never mind, I used the wrong ones. Mine larger fasteners look different than his. 🤦🏾♀️

Question why does it get flipped around if you’re using it as a desk? Is it cause of the rubber feet?
There are four holes in the middle of the drawer unit panel so you can use four screws to secure both the drawer unit and the desk panel together. That's why the panel on the drawer unit gets flipped.
