    I know you're not a fan of the pixelshift, but in the image you showed, that was an incredible amount more of resolution detail. With the right setup (perfectly still camera, and static inanimate subjects like you would see in still life photography), you get a considerable resolution bump, and you get the elimination of Bayer filter color interpolation. One area where I also see this being a massive benefit for, is for anyone doing film scans. Admittedly this would be very tedius and storage/processor heavy to do per film frame, but the quality for preservation purposes would be unparalleled with this native pixel resolution. All 35mm film would be easily out-resolved, and larger film stock could now be done with confidence.
    The only problem after that point would be finding a lens remotely capable of something like that 400 MP resolution in terms of resolving power. In your example it almost looks like the resolving power was eeking out chromatic aberration of whatever lens that was. So one would need god-tier macro/APO lenses for this crazy pixel shift to be fully exploited.
    Very niche, but very cool for those that want utmost technical quality.

      @@jukeboxjohnnie it's still the only manufacturer catering to professional "archival" (as opposed to creative) photography - your museums, art reproduction, etc. I don't think their cameras have dipped in quality due to the takeover, I think it's more that DJI wanted to licence the hasselblad brand and profit that way (think of all the phone "partnerships"). Although maybe their more commercial/consumer oriented cameras may be affected, they are using the same tech as Fuji there.
      At any rate it's no more a bitter pill to swallow than Fuji pretending to be a heritage camera brand. Film stock sure but during the Film and DSLR ages Fuji camera were at best a bad joke... Well, it is not a sports or action camera. But as far as I can tell from my few weeks practice with 100S II, the AF is absolutely ok for casual daily shooting including moving people, events, portraits. It is not as "sticky" as I am used from the latest Canon ML FF cameras but still fast and reliable enough to provide reliable results. Even with lenses like 40mm f/1.4 and 105mm f/1.4 which I absolutely love on my 100S II.

    Do you feel that this camera offers significant advantage over the A7RV with its high resolution sensor in terms of noise level and dynamic range.
    I am surprised that the noise levels of the GFX at higher ISOs are similar to full frame. I was lead to believe that noise crept in at higher ISOs than full frame cameras.
    How does it compare to the A7R III that you usually use?
    While the A7RV might be noisier, its cutting edge auto focus, latest technogy and flexibility makes it a complete photographic instrument.
    But I do love Fujifilm’s colors, but I feel that the GFX 100S is a more deliberate camera.
    How does its autofocus compare to your A7R III? I would be really interested in you analysis.
    Thanks.

    • @Kliffot
      @Kliffot День назад +1

      It should be better. The S/N ratio and pixel pitch is exactly the same as the A7RV, zoom in at same level the noise should be the same but because of the bigger sensor zoom out in MF the noise should appear much finer. At same ISO you'd have to crop at least to FF the MF image to get the same noise level.

    • @LF1985
      @LF1985 22 часа назад +2

      A7RV is a better general choice. There are huge lens selection and the most advanced AF system. Medium Format if you desire the highest resolution for landscape work and other still photography, even so the 60MP A7RV is so close, and a 150MP Phase One is way more expensive than Fuji.
