What you’re saying is interesting but the thing I can’t understand is why every Christian is getting it wrong? Where do you get this alternative information? Is it your interpretation or are there actually Christians who follow along the lines of what you’re saying? I just don’t see it anywhere. I’m also curious on your acceptance of other faiths like Buddhism etc I always thought that it is strange for there to only be one true “religion” because some people are born in countries where the chance of you being Christian for example are very slim. However again no Christian or people of other religions would ever say that these religions are valid. Also doesn’t God make it very clear in the Bible he’s the only God, he’s a jealous God. The greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart and mind etc. This doesn’t seem to work with what you’re saying. Also I can’t get my mind around the Old Testament. God apparently commands the killing of children, there’s weird laws as well. It just seems like something man would do. Iv been searching for a while now, I know there’s something spiritual about this world but can’t quite grasp a lot of the religions out there. Also it’s all so complicated, how do people get this information or know what’s right. I can’t watch RUclips videos all day, makes me feel sick. I’d rather be outside, reading etc. Shed some light on this for me, mybe you can recommend some books or which bible I can read etc. Thanks

Alright, I will answer your questions one by one.
"What you’re saying is interesting but the thing I can’t understand is why every Christian is getting it wrong?"
That's because of the history of current Christian denominations. One church managed to become the dominant one. No other church survived. Then they began to fight Paganism. Aside from the clergy, people couldn't read back then. So they had to rely on the interpretation of the clergy. The clergy told them what to believe. That became the foundation of modern Christianity. Even the Reformation didn't change much of that. They only reformed certain parts.
"Where do you get this alternative information?"
From myself. I have independently studied and researched theology since 2002/2003. I began with Islam and New Ageism. I came to the conclusion that Christianity is a true religion, but I didn't like its ("thou shalt not...") attitude. I also came to the conclusion that some other religions were true once, but outdated. So I didn't really practice any religion as the result, but I did continue to learn theology. Then I found myself continually in agreement with the Bible. So I decided to look for a church, but it was too late. I knew too much. I could detect their flaws immediately.
"Is it your interpretation or are there actually Christians who follow along the lines of what you’re saying?"
Christianity (including Judaism) and Islam are the only two religions in the world that are practiced in accordance to orthodox interpretations. Islam is truly orthodox, but Christianity isn't. Paganism, Indian religions, Chinese religions, etc, are all orthoprax. If you listen to a guru, especially when he is speaking about Christianity, you will notice that it's very similar to what I'm saying. They understand Christianity better than Christians because Hinduism has never been controlled by one organization. They practice spirituality, instead of letting others (i.e. the church) do the thinking for them. So they don't have the same problems as Christianity (and Judaism). That's why I have started Orthoprax Christianity.
"I’m also curious on your acceptance of other faiths like Buddhism etc I always thought that it is strange for there to only be one true “religion” because some people are born in countries where the chance of you being Christian for example are very slim."
When you are running an organization like the Catholic Church you will not welcome competition. They had an enormous amount of power in the past. They controlled armies and even governments. As a student of theology, I can tell you that multiple religions are true. It's impossible for only one religion to be true.
"Also doesn’t God make it very clear in the Bible he’s the only God, he’s a jealous God."
Yeah. You can find Him in other religions as well.
"God apparently commands the killing of children, there’s weird laws as well. It just seems like something man would do."
The Old Covenant/Testament documents the story of the Hebrews in the ancient world. They had to deal with barbaric people. So God instructed them how to do that. Once the mission was accomplished, the New Covenant/Testament was ready to be written.
"Iv been searching for a while now, I know there’s something spiritual about this world but can’t quite grasp a lot of the religions out there. Also it’s all so complicated, how do people get this information or know what’s right."
Well, let spirituality lead you! That's what I'm trying to teach people with this channel. I'm doing it step by step because it's a bit complicated. You first have to realize that there is more than this world. You have to let go of earthly desires. Focus on spiritual teachings and live by them. The more you do this, the more you will realize that you will be guided towards the truth. An organization like the Catholic Church or an Orthodox Church won't teach you this. They want you allied to them. So they teach you orthodoxy ("this is the truth, now don't question it anymore. Just follow us"). So you see why this channel and movement is needed?
"I can’t watch RUclips videos all day, makes me feel sick. I’d rather be outside, reading etc."
I'm not making a lot of videos (it takes me so much time to create one), but I'm making them now and then. Check out my "Which Religion (If Any) Is True?" video if you haven't already done so: ruclips.net/video/FgnPiT1pzHc/видео.html
"Shed some light on this for me, mybe you can recommend some books or which bible I can read etc."
Based on my experiences, theology is too complicate for anyone to learn expect those who are willing to spend a lot of time on it. It's like with trying to understand the Bible. I use in general the New King James and World English Bible translations, but the Bible is so old and you have to understand a lot first to truly know what it means, that my recommendation is to start with preparing yourself to become spiritual. Start with mediation (I plan on making meditation videos). Try mindfulness, for example. There is a lot in my videos/podcasts that you can focus on, such as in The Void, where I talk about the importance of being alone. You can download the podcasts on my website. If you really want to read stuff, buy a study Bible. Just start out nice and easy.

@@OrthopraxChristianity Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your time. Aren't religions like Christianity and Hinduism for example completely contradictory though? I dont see how it could be the same God if they seem so different. Did Jesus not die on the cross for our sins? Possibly the most important part of Chrisitan belief no? If not what are Christians supposed to believe? I have been trying to read the old testament but have now idea why I am not getting it and also find it so off putting. I can't understand how God would want things like animal sacrifices, circumcision etc Also have you read the part about skin issues? It makes absolutely no sense, I understand for people to be pure entering the tabernacle but the advise provided by God is just insanity. For me it just sounds like its coming from ignorant man. I see explanations online but for me it's just Christians trying to make sense out of something they can't make sense out of. Just like the killing of children etc, Christians will do their best to find the best explanation which works for them but there's so many and in any other circumstance they would not accept someone killing children etc. I also started to look in to the historical evidence for things like the exodus etc. There's none, there's no evidence of the Isralites in the desert, nothing about slaves in Egypt ect. There's no evidence of Noah's Ark, there's young earth creationists who will say there is but that's only young earth creationists. The evidence does not show a young earth, if it did, the majority of geologists etc would be in agreement. It seems the more I look in to it the less true it all seems. Is there a certain lens I need to read the old testament?

@@stephmorgan4121 "Aren't religions like Christianity and Hinduism for example completely contradictory though? I dont see how it could be the same God if they seem so different."
They only seem different. They explain the same things in different ways. In this video I actually use karma as an example of that. You wouldn't think that Christianity talks about karma, but when you read the original (Greek) text when Yehoshua/Jesus speaks, it becomes clear that what He is saying aligns with what Krishna and Buddha are saying. I'm planning to cover multiple religions in the future. I will take a lot of time to explain this.
"Did Jesus not die on the cross for our sins? Possibly the most important part of Chrisitan belief no? If not what are Christians supposed to believe?"
Yes, the Bible says that He has died for our sins, but what does that mean? It's about teaching us spirituality. That's the most important part of Christianity (and Hinduism, Buddhism, Paganism, etc). Focusing on His death is pointless. The point is to follow His teachings (He taught spirituality).
"Is there a certain lens I need to read the old testament?"
Yes, you need to understand the theological background first. What you have said about the Old Covenant/Testament sounds completely relatable to me. That's how I have felt for a very long time as well. Before the Bible, I was studying New Ageism and Paganism. In Paganism, you will find the Gods. They marry, sleep, eat, etc. I can relate that. They are also very nice and (in general) friendly. Then, I opened the Bible and the Gods are now one God and He is super angry at humans. He is no longer relatable. Now He is a spirit and He doesn't have almost any human characteristics. In the Old Covenant/Testament, He is mobilizing Hebrews to established a new country and Israel. In the process, all kinds of weird things are happening, including circumcision. It's a painful book, until you realize the motives behind its stories. Once you do, you will realize that the New Covenant/Testament doesn't really change anything, it just introduces Yehoshua/Jesus. There is also the destruction of the world, but this time around, the world will be set on fire (2 Peter 3:7) instead of wiped out by a flood. See, this is what Jews and Christians don't understand. They see the Bible as a linear story, but it's really circular. Look at how evil our world has become. Of course God will destroy it. That's how the Old Covenant/Testament begins after the flood. Humans (like now) messed up so badly that God had to step in, kill everybody and start anew. Almost immediately, humans become evil again (Sodom/Gomorrah, Egypt, Canaan, etc). Wouldn't you be angry if you were God? Well, God had a plan. As soon as Pagans in the West began corrupt, God stepped in with the plan to create a new religion. He freed Hebrews from Egypt. They were Pagans back then. The Bible doesn't tell you that. God was teaching them a new religion but they constantly messed up. I will give you one example: The Golden Calf story. You probably know how it goes. Mozes goes up the mountain to talk with God, which is also when He received the Ten Commandments. In the meanwhile, the inpatient Hebrews are tired of waiting for Mozes so they asked his brother, Aron, to create a golden calf to celebrate and worship God. Displeased, God commands Mozes to go down and order a massacre of those who used the golden calf to celebrate and worship him. This story made me confused. Why would God care how inferior beings are worshiping Him? They weren't hurting anyone by creating an idol! This is the problem I had with the Old Covenant/Testament, which you are now also having. It's very rare for the Bible to explain anything. What's missing from this story is that the golden calf idol was used in their previous religion but forbidden in the new one. In their previous religion, the Hebrews called Him "El Torro", which means "God the Bull", but they were no longer allowed to call Him that. They had a special deal with God and they were given responsibilities that others didn't have, so more was expected from them. The Canaanites, in turn, were already corrupted beyond repair. The Sodom and Gomorrah story happened hundreds of years before God freed the Hebrews from Egypt. So imagine how corrupt they were by the time the Hebrews were taken out of Egypt and tasked to attack Canaan and conquer the country. That's why children were killed in the process. Was that justified? Well, the enemies of the Hebrews were already doing a good job at killing children themselves (that's how the story of Exodus starts, but then there is also child sacrifice that was practiced by the Ammonites). Eventually, with the Binding of Isaac, God abolished child sacrifice. Once you know the theological background, the Old Covenant/Testament starts to make sense, otherwise it won't. It's a difficult collection of books to understand. The New Covenant/Testament is more modern and that's the only reason why we don't have a problem with it, but it doesn't really say anything much different. Pagan and Indian religions are much easier to understand.
As for evidence, not all necessary evidence has been found to backup the claims and stories of the Old Covenant/Testament. There is also no evidence to prove any of it wrong. If you are looking for evidence, you will encounter a similar problem as with theology: background. The Bible doesn't say where the ark landed, but a story about a man on a boat/ark/ship occurs in ancient stories around the world. For all we know, the location of the boat/ark/ship might be in Japan. Most likely, there is nothing left of it now.

@@OrthopraxChristianity Thanks for your reply again. Defintely some food for thought. I will keep doing my best to understand it. If you could do some videos on the old testament etc that would be great! Also meditation. I have started to meditate recently and I am enjoying it alot. At times it's very hard but sometimes it's effortless. I think some Chrisitians believe it's evil ha ha ha ha I don't believe this at all. Do you believe in a heaven and hell as Jesus talked about, or do you think Jesus was referring to hell on earth. As in when you live a bad way you create your own hell. Hell for Christians varies alot from been seperated from God, to actually been a a place of fire etc. What religions do you think hold the most truth? I have never ready any other religious texts but it could be interesting to do so. Anyway thanks again!

@@stephmorgan4121 I'm always glad to be able to help a truth seeking brother!
"If you could do some videos on the old testament etc that would be great!"
Indeed! It crossed my mind while talking to you. I'm thinking now what a good way would be to cover the Old Covenant. Do you mind if I mention you in the credits of that video?
"I have started to meditate recently and I am enjoying it alot."
      Very nice!
"Do you believe in a heaven and hell as Jesus talked about, or do you think Jesus was referring to hell on earth."
I'm talking about this in my "What Is Reincarnation and Incarnation?" video. What I don't mention in this video is that heaven is also a place, not just something that will be established on earth. The Bible mentions multiple heavens and I think that that is correct.
"As in when you live a bad way you create your own hell."
That's also true. I think that's a good way to look at it because "hell" doesn't exist in the Bible. The Bible talks about the underworld, which I talk about a bit in my "Who Are Demons?" video. The underworld is a prison. In Hebrew it's called "Sheol" and it's mistaken in popular culture for "hell". You can make your life a hell, but indeed, you can say that the underworld is also hell. You go there if you do bad things.
"Hell for Christians varies alot from been seperated from God, to actually been a a place of fire etc."
That's because they misunderstand the Bible. The version of "hell" with fire and brimstone is derived from what the Bible says will happen to earth. God will destroy it with fire and dump the biggest senior in the fire. The underworld, however, is a separation from God.
"What religions do you think hold the most truth?"
Christianity and Hinduism. Both are amazing. Christianity tells you what's going on and what exists. It's all about this world and getting through it. It doesn't care much about anything else. Hinduism, in contrast, covers almost everything. That's because in essence it's a true religion. Christianity is a covenant, a deal.
"I have never ready any other religious texts but it could be interesting to do so."
In that case I would recommend starting with Bhagavad Gita (just watch out for the "as is" translation by ISKON). It's an amazing story and a nice introduction to Hinduism. The story takes place thousands of years before the birth of Jesus/Yehoshua. God has incarnated as Krishna, who had a totally different role than Yehoshua later on. He came with his chariot to pick up prince Arjuna to take him to the battlefield, but Arjuna doesn't want to go there and fight. So the result is a philosophical discussion between the two. Arjuna has no idea that God is sitting next to him. It's an amazing book. When I first opened up this book and heard Krishna speak, I immediately recognized that He is God.

Also the story of Adam and Eve regarding sin, what is your interpretation than? For me it kind of does make sense as we all sin in life.

    • @OrthopraxChristianity
      @OrthopraxChristianity  Год назад

The concept of the Original Sin has been invented by Jews and Christians, but it's not mentioned in the Bible. Adam and Eve were incarnations of sinners. When they sinned in their new bodies, they become sinners also by body, not just by soul. Why would the Bible accuse us of being sinners if this was our first live?
