**A million dreams plays**
Brett with shattered dreams: doesn’t get it
I literally cried when Eddy started playing this!!!!! HOW COULD BRETT NOT KNOW?!?!?!?
@@hiruni5983 cuz he obviously didn't watch it
Tbh I didn’t get it for about 10 seconds, I only got it at the end because my friend was obsessed with it a year or two ago :,)
He ONCE had dreams...
He had dreams 😔
The speed at which Brett recognises track for Psycho explains his lofis...
Underrated comment
Lmao
lol yeaaahhh
‘With which’ in this instance is incorrect, and should instead be replaced with ‘at which’.
@@polka678 Ahh sorry...😅
Eddy : "They deliberately chose the hardest piece to recognise"
Plays 2 first notes
Me: (yelling) Duel of fates!!! Star Wars!!
That was pretty cringe honestly lol. Duel of the Fates is tied with the main theme and the Force theme as the most famous and recognizable themes in Star Wars. It beats Leia's theme, Battle of Heroes, Across the Stars, the Imperial March, etc
@@kalebramirez7327 I would say it is pretty recognizable but definitely not tied with the main theme or Imperial March. I feel like because of the original trilogy's sheer popularity and how long it has been in the public eye that those would probably win if you did a random sample.
Each episode had a couple extremely recognizable pieces. Duel of the Fates and The Flag Parade are the ones from Phantom Menace.
I think maybe it's just to do with the prequels being less popular overall - I mean if you're not a big star wars fan, you might never see/hear the soundtracks from the prequels. I guess I just mean - if you only know about Star Wars music from pop culture or playing an arrangement in orchestra, you might not have had much exposure to the music of the prequels. Which is a bummer, because I think the prequel soundtracks are excellent - I know the movies aren't as great, but the soundtrack quality stayed excellent even in the prequels. Duel of the Fates is just a fantastic track.
Exactly the same here. Two notes and I knew. It's pretty crazy!
4:43 damn the perfect pitch on psycho theme was INSANE. i would never be able to play something like that by ear in a million years
He's looking at sheet music 😂
@@Wilsey. no he’s not
@@Wilsey. he’s playing it by ear
I hate being that guy, but that's the motif in Psycho whenever Bateman kills anyone. The actual psycho theme is a lot different.
Damn that's wild then my bad, that's impressive as hell then geez
Brett is actually very correct about UP's soundtrack not being overtly happy.
It's a tranquil, peaceful kind of happy with hints of nostalgia and reminiscence.
It's actually super sad...
It's definitely bittersweet because it plays when you see them fall in love and when he's left alone to become a bitter old man, and I tink it also plays when he's thinking about her
quite the opposite in fact, not sure what it's supposed to sound like, but its so fcking sad
I'm imagining Brett being sickened by the sweetness at the start of UP and then getting more and more satisfied as the first 15 minutes unfold.
Eddy with his perfect pitch. Brett with his lack of movie knowledge. Eddy’s surprising good piano playing skill and Brett’s dead face. So classic twoset!
Underrated comment
Sigh ... and where was that dead face? He was actually laughing all the time omg.
Agree, exept with the deadpan face one. He was actually smiling alot in this vid.
just shut up with unnecessary forcing of Brett’s dead face narrative where it’s non-existent
@@mandch5990 I have become allergic to that too, it is like everybody is just parroting it without thinking.
Eddy putting more classical-style harmony into the avengers theme just out of instinct was really interesting
When the Lord of the Rings theme started playing I literally got emotional. WHY ARE THOSE MOVIES SO GOOD!!??
Cuz not onle were they made by somone good they were also made in a time where everybody wasnt woke
I know right? It's frustrating bcs it's so beautiful and it gives you these nostalgic feels.
@@maryjoygelizon4268 you can't be serious. Those movies were made only 20 years ago. A certain procent of the population has always been woke at every time, every place and every era, this is how we get to do stuff now that were deemed impossible 100 years ago.

"Deliberately picked one of the harder ones to recognize"
It is the single most immediately recognizable piece from the Prequel era, this was effectively the Imperial March of an entire generation.
Exactly!!!!!!! I recognized it at the first second!
@@camiladuquebaeza3694 Me too! so surprised that they said it was hard to recognize
Koraaaaa......
You have to understand that the prequels are nowhere near as popular as the main trilogy in terms of theme music. And not everyone who has seen the original trilogy has seen the prequels. They're definitely a little young to grow up on those films too.
brett being completely alienated from pop culture and eddy being the bridge to that pop culture creates the most wholesome of their videos imo. they did a couple of videos like this and it’s just so funny watching brett uncaringly be clueless.

Howard Shore got every award under the sun for Lord Of The Rings, but I feel Brett and Eddie calling it "soooo gooood" is the ultimate knighting.
Duel of fates is probably the most recognizable piece of music from modern star wars and spammed everywhere from memes to medleys. And if you listen to the orchestra arrangement, it is just brilliant.
That's how I got it. I've watched all the movies, but wouldn't recognize the music if it weren't for the times I've heard it other places. My thought process was like "It's so familiar! Hmm. What's something I would have heard played by an orchestra or someone like the Piano Guys that's from a movie?" And my answer was Star Wars. (Although I wouldn't have known which episode)
Especially the lyrics: "Corn on... the cob..."
@@mookie34545 Thank you for giving me something permanent to recite whenever this comes on!

It just captures the emotions and essence of the films theme/history perfectly, and i get goosebumps everytime i listen to it. Im so happy that they know it!
It's interesting that Brett knew it as a stand-alone piece. He was unaware that it was from a movie, which he clearly hasn't seen.

Brett should get points whenever he recognized the music enough to hum parts Eddy hadn't played yet. It means he knew the music, even if he couldn't remember the source.
No. _Eddy_ should get points, for playing it well enough to be recognised. Brett definitely should not, as he didn't manage to call even the soundtrack.
I love how Brett could get the right vibes even though he didn't know/remember the film.
Like when Eddy played Sparkle, it's amazing how he said "I can imagine flowers all over the place, blue skies, the camera moving." I love how he could catch that kind of Makoto Shinkai's films vibes right.
And also I agree with you when Eddy played LOTR, and Brett said when the melody played, you can immediately see all the scenes played out.

The "Up" Soundtrack is actually incredible! Go listen to it if you haven't already. The way the composer weaves the main theme into every piece is quite masterful, and shows you how many emotions that one motif can convey just with the magic of harmony.
Of course, Howard Shore's work on Lord of the Rings forever remains to be a monument in the soundtrack genre, much like what Strauss's work was for Tone Poems. Infinite bows to him.
