The fact that Amy took Sonic's defeat better than Tails shows an incredible character development
She was written really well in this game. She’s an important part of the resistance (following up on her character arc from SA1), and her crush on Sonic is still her motivation (again, following up her SA1 arc and keeping the most important and iconic part of her character intact). She’s probably the only character besides Sonic that got any kind of respect in the writers’ room.
If you wanna make the argument that having a crush on Sonic as her main motivation and character flaw is a bad thing, the alternatives are IDW Amy who’s just Sally Acorn minus any interesting conflicts from her backstory, Boom Amy who was portrayed as either the token girl or a nagging buzzkill (which was funny in the show, I’ll admit), or Fleetway Amy who was made (by the writer’s own admission) into a stale plank of wood after Fleetway’s mandates for her were set in place. Amy in Forces strikes a nice balance for me.

How Sonic Forces could have been amazing.
1. Bring back the Sonic Adventure style gameplay but focus on just the speed and platforming.
2. Have multiple playable characters not just 2 Sonic's, an OC and a Shadow mod (thats pretty much all he is)
3. Actually commit to the ideas your presenting in your story instead of half-assing them!
A. Actually showing Eggman take over the world
B. Tails actually going crazy and teaming up with Omega
C. Sonic being tortured
4. Have more cinematic cutscenes instead of those boring heads with text boxes
5. Take Classic Sonic OUT of the story ENTIRELY and add Blaze the Cat! They seriously didn't contact her for help!?
5. Have Infinite be the final boss!
I don't get why the hell did they bring Classic Sonic back. Not too hate him on him or anything BUT WHY NOT BLAZE?! She's my favorite Sonic character ;_;

The time is right for it to make a comeback like how Sonic Mania made a TRUE come back to the Genesis gameplay.

Sega was told in the past shadow needs one chaos emerald to use chaos control. But comics and videogames demonstrate that shadow can use chaos powers whitout emeralds because he is the ultimate life form and have the natural ability to use chaos control and have a strong connection whit this. Its limited but is still very useful in combat like in this scene and when shadow defeated infinite.

Characters tend to do that in this game. Tails cowers with the villagers in the beginning of the game, the avatar cowers in front of the same robots he’s been defeating effortlessly the whole time in the Death Egg… do I need to mention Tails again..?

The way Shadow evades and beats Infinite is identical to the cinematic opening for Shadow the Hedgehog when he does the same maneuver to a group of Black Arms.

Experience since doing Boom a couple years prior plus a totally different vocal direction for a project that has a different intended tone than Boom did. Unintentional or not, his Boom portrayal felt like something meant to be seen as a parody of himself.
