I gotta go with Legends on this one. You can never go wrong with Dark Lord the Rise of Darth Vader by James Luceno. It well earned its title as the sequel to ROTS and is a must read for any Star Wars fan or Vader fan.
Star Wars Reading Club this is very bad news. My Grey Jedi Master,Kylaro Korbor informed me a few weeks ago that he must go and help the Thousands of Grey Jedi to attack a New Sith Empire,so it's likely true that Vader did survive and is leading them. Kylaro wanted me to stay at his childhood home and watch over his parents as a Grey Sentinel. He also said there's a slim possibility he'll come back, alive. I hope he does come back alive, because he's the closest I have to a Brother.
Kind of more appropriate he created his own in my opinion. He just got handed the Darth title right after striking down one powerful Jedi council member and just that second joined the dark side. 😆😆😆
It sounds less like Vader tried convincing Palpatine, and more like flat out TOLD him. "I'm not asking permission. I'm giving you the courtesy of telling you this is happening."
Vader must have been worth something to Palpie, and Vader knew it. 'You can have me be a more capable servant, or you can kill me and find a new servant.' Made it an easy choice.
I get it now! Both Sidious and Obi underestimated Vader by thinking he is, "more machine then man". Thinking he became crippled on that day losing his "potential power" but that's just it. He is a machine and that's his unique trait. The force manifested itself through his abilities as an engineer (as shown when he was a child). He didn't lose anything in fact it made him pure. Vader is a friggen Deus Ex Machina (A god from a machine).
@Skeleton Masher Only in the beginning did Vader underestimate Obi-wan. But even then, what really happened was Vader overestimated himself at the time..
Nah he lost his full potential on Mustarfa. The suit is a huge disadvantage for mobility as well as force usage. He is just frickin strong tho. That's tge reason why he killed so many Jedies afterwards. He could have been the strongest being in the galaxies
@@tobii894 he adapted that lack of mobility into an almost unbreakable defense and strikes that could break any parry that anyone would be foolish enough to attempt against him. As for his force abilities, the dark side doesn't require flesh to work, only hate and powerful emotions, sure he can't cast lightnight but his abilities are undeniable, be it passive or active. But even then, there was no way he could defeat the emperor on his own.

because most lightsaber forms aim to disable the enemy, not to outright kill themsince that enables them to do as they wish with the person they defeated. Cutting peoples hands off is the easiest way to disable them.

He already instructed the droids to initially construct the armor from a substandard design meant to keep him angry, after all. He wanted his apprentice to maintain a vulnerability, especially to lightning. To keep him in line.

Shit ain’t cheap, my guy. It takes 6 hours for them to fix it. 6 HOURS! That’s my time and credits! But nooooo! you don’t think about that! My arm isn’t my only body part, you know!
If synthetic Kyber crystal were possessively better than original crystals then you must ask yourself why Sedious didn't commission foundries to produce synthetic crystals for all their weapon instead of wasting time and resource mining normal crystals.
Justin Kong Probably because in legends it took days of crafting using only the force to align the synthetic crystals inside a furnace. You can't just mass produce them unless you had hundreds of force users who were at least on par with a Jedi knight in terms of power and ability. And if palps had access to that, he never would've needed Vader.
@@darminatin This is very much the case. Making these synthetic crystals is more of a case of simulating how they naturally form with the force user taking part in the creation. Luke method however was more low tech compared to the method Sith used at the time but in the end even with the high technology they needed many force users.
6:00 is it me or does Vader look really proud of himself somehow? like when a kid shows you something and he stands like that and its just really proud
I feel their is enough room in canon that both types of storylines can exist . Like some Jedi and Sith trapped on planets making due with an artificially created crystal . In fact this is sci fi setting the Jedi and Sith could merely be traditionalist while the rest of the galaxy uses lightsabers with artificial crystals for manufacturing.
The relationship between Vader and Sidious... an illustration of the age old adage... ... never try to trick an engineer, especially with shoddy workmanship. :-P
Anakin Skywalker was a master building. Built pod racers and C-3P0 he was good at fixing things then making it better. Darth Vader modified his own suit.
tbh I think alot of the stories are great regardless of being "Canon" or "Legends" but there is some novelty to the greatness of the official story too
If Vader could make his own changes and repairs. Why would he not make it so he wouldn't be so hampered in duels? Or be able to resist force lightning? Just wondering serious question.
I like how everytime Vader is about to lose to someone way better than him he literally has to like crush them with some sort of object or use like civilians to distract them
One of the reasons Vader didn't kill his master is because of engineered weaknesses in his suit, but being the one to repair and modify his own suit conflicts that. Why would you keep yourself vulnerable to your master if you knew your weaknesses and had the opportunity to remediate it?
I like Canon better. It's more interesting without undermining Sidious' authority to Vader. Sidious is calling the shots. Sidious is allowing Vader. Also the beating Vader got from the Jedi Master was amazing.
I'm amazed how many people dislike the bleeding process for crystals. It's way more badass to corrupt a crystal with boundless hate and suffering than to just spoof one up. The crystal becomes a symbol of the user's spirit and dedication to the dark side, showing exactly how far he/she has fallen. It's just better than making a ripoff version of a crystal. Did I enjoy what synthetic crystals were capable in the past? Of course, that shit was cool. I'm just more in favor of bleeding now. The grown men just need to stop being children about it. It's shameful really.
Agreed. I've said it several times before, but personal canons and whatnot are pathetic; nothing but escape methods for people to hide from uncomfortable truths. Disney is in charge now, what they say goes, and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.
That scene in the new Vader comic is one of my favorite. It also actually for once kinda shows sidious as not such a dick to Vader, in all media except the first 6 episodic movies of course...
Wait a second... I saw a video that said there was another guy who planned Vader's suit and then was ordered by Sidious to create hybrids half machine/half...something. This scientist (I can't remember his name) had implemented a switch off button in Vader's armour to deactivate it and paralyze him (and he used it once). Could someone explain ?
Nice vid. I read some of of the comments below about how making the crystal bleed is stupid. But i find it facinating. One way to imagine it for is that a sith has a crystal and then by meditation he or she pours his energy into it and slowly making it (bleed) or attune it to the dark side and thus it becomes red. I think what we saw when vader claimed the crystal from the jedi master and it fought him could be becuse it was alredy filled with light. But if we take a natural crystal that has not been filled with light then does it become easier to turn it? With proper effort and meditation i think it can be a very facinating thing to see. Example is that the Sith is sitting cross legged, the crystal floating between the hands and slowly turns red as the sith pours his or hers energy into it. That is just something i imagine anyways. And now i wonder, if there could be crystals that are naturaly attuned to the dark side of the force on certain planest or are just much rarer. Or what is a crystal is filled with so much drakness that it just turns black.
In KOTOR II, when the Exile first visits the crystal cave on Dantooine, she acquires a crystal, which bonds to her. And the crystal "tunes" to your alignment in the Force. And goes from being a bright, white crystal if you're on the light side, to dim and black if you're on the dark side. The only difference between this and the new canon, is that it's pretty much how all lightsaber crystals work now. They just took the idea that KOTOR II introduced, and improved on it. Jedi form a symbiant relationship with a crystal that specifically connects with them, whereas the Sith forcibly form a parasitic relationship with any crystal they can get their hands on.
See the way i see it is what about banes rule of two and all the sith who came? I know most of banes rule of two is not canon which i also think is dumb but it would mean every time a sith overthrew its master and took an aprentice they would have to hunt down and kill a jedi to get a kyber crystal. It would have caused the sith to prematurely reveal themselves as the jedi would eventually realize that jedi were being killed every so often to have their kyber crystal taken. It is just dumb i think. I prefer sith having synthetic kyber crystals. This change to me is dumb and does not make sense.
Mitchell Hayward yeah but only jedi used real kyber crystals which like you said became attuned to a particular jedi which determined a kyber crystals colar. Sith used synthetic crystals which caused them to be red. Synthetic kyber crystels always produced red lightsabers where as the real kyber crystel jedi used varied from jedi to jedi depending on how they used the force. That's why some jedi had green lightsabers and others had blue and so on eith the various other colors. This new change is just dumb and does not make sense to me.
Keep in mind, the Jedi for the most part pretty frequently undertook the dangerous assignment every so often - especially in Legends. And we aren't talking about Sith doing this on a monthly basis. Maybe every few times per generation, or even less. And a Sith wouldn't have to reveal themselves to kill a Jedi. They could always lure them into a trap, impersonate and frame a bounty hunter, or some such method. And even if said Sith apprentice failed in their attempt to kill the Jedi themselves, I'm sure they'd take precautions to make sure that even if they couldn't survive, then at least the Jedi would certainly die. And that's not to say that their Master wouldn't be in on the plan - to take over if the apprentice is killed. Also, I think there are certain... "exceptions" to the rule that a Sith Apprentice specifically has to kill a Jedi for their crystal. For example, I don't believe that Maul actually had to - as Palpatine was being very careful when it came to Jedi at that point. And as for Dooku, he probably took Sify Dyas' crystal, or simply corrupted the crystal he was using as a Jedi. And as for Vader, he didn't even have to worry about bleeding a crystal until after the initial Jedi purge, and until after he'd already lost his Jedi lightsaber to Obi Wan. I don't think it's a straight up prerequisite, especially seeing as Sith like Palpatine didn't even need a lightsaber to fight a Jedi. I just think it more or less depends on the circumstances.
If I made a Star Wars TV show I'd try to incorporate as much as possible of both. Like if this was an episode, I'd try to squeeze in the key dialogues and battles of both, that both battles happened one after another, I think Legends then canon in that order. If I was in charge of making like a SW anime or something, I'd try to incorporate as much of both EU Legends and Disney Canon as possible, probably favoring Legends, but using both, unless one element was just so stupid it would be best left alone. Generally I would try to alter it if possible. I just think that Legends and Canon would be sort of like The Nostalgia Critic's take on Disney's Animated Cinderella vs the recent live action movie: both are good, both offer different good things and lack certain things, somewhere between the 2 is an excellent movie.
Quite amazed as to how willing Sidious was to let Vader modify his own suit... Especially how Sidious was the one who intentionally planned for Vader’s suit to be flawed...
Sidious likely didn't want to risk Vader being close to full power and being able to turn on him like every sith apprentice has to their master (himself included), hence having the droids use inferior materials and tech when crafting his suit and life support.
It is pretty fascinating how close these stories are in the current Canon and former Legends, but let me know which one you prefer: Canon or Legends!

They did eventually figure out how to at least mass produce lightsabers, though the crystals needed individual tuning (whatever that means).
@@davidhong1934
It means a Sith/Dark Jedi/whatever was needed to make a crystal for it.
@@darminatin
This is very much the case. Making these synthetic crystals is more of a case of simulating how they naturally form with the force user taking part in the creation. Luke method however was more low tech compared to the method Sith used at the time but in the end even with the high technology they needed many force users.

I always thought that "tuning" meant frowning at bits of machinery until they became a lightsaber
"In thus video EXPOSE"_ he says it in every video. Cracks me up every time. Lol
Vader was in his tank recovering and meditating the dark side while using the force to make modifications on his suit. Vader is the chosen one fr
6:00 is it me or does Vader look really proud of himself somehow?
like when a kid shows you something and he stands like that and its just really proud
That background music though🔥🔥
The music in the backgrouns at about 7:00 is from the game series Metro
I feel their is enough room in canon that both types of storylines can exist . Like some Jedi and Sith trapped on planets making due with an artificially created crystal . In fact this is sci fi setting the Jedi and Sith could merely be traditionalist while the rest of the galaxy uses lightsabers with artificial crystals for manufacturing.
The relationship between Vader and Sidious... an illustration of the age old adage...
... never try to trick an engineer, especially with shoddy workmanship. :-P
I heard you say the names of those jedi and all I heard was “Bullsh*t Hack” and “Crackin’ Fella!” XD
💀💀 when palpatine saw Vader’s new light saber he must of been like a little girl looking at their friends new outfit
Vader shoulda got a subwoofer in his spine so he can play Fortunate Son by CCR every time he steps out the whip
Was there ever a time where vader directly defied palpatine to his face or stand up to him in some way post episode 3
Vader should hav added an arc reactor that would be sick
Arlindo Nascimento don't forget Repulsor technology, flight stabilizers and an AC/DC playlist. 😎
Iron Vader
TBH iron Man would destroy Vader
@@E9X330 Vader would tear Tony's suit from him with the force.
Surely theirs a hypermatter star wars equivalent
Anakin Skywalker was a master building. Built pod racers and C-3P0 he was good at fixing things then making it better. Darth Vader modified his own suit.
I don’t even read these books I’ve just been hooked on a bunch of random star wars lore
"the unarmed Jedi knight"
nice zinger
tbh I think alot of the stories are great regardless of being "Canon" or "Legends" but there is some novelty to the greatness of the official story too
The sith health plan doesn't cover good robotics apparently
Lucas playing mind tricks with people
At 2:36 jedi knight bullshithag lol
Vader: THE FUTURE IS NOW OLD MAN!
I am a star wars beginner so that's pretty helpfull
lobna abdelaziz same
Great channel and content bud keep it up☺👊
If Vader could make his own changes and repairs. Why would he not make it so he wouldn't be so hampered in duels? Or be able to resist force lightning? Just wondering serious question.
What would Darth Vader, Ragnos, or Malgus be like if they had the same or greater regeneration than Drudge?
Karren Kuddlesberg
I think, there is a rather simple answer: the Sith would rule for all eternity
That explains how Darth Krayt became truly immortal..
Wow, its been a few months since I seen your videos in my recommended. Subbed this time.
That's a nice new intro thanks for the video
Wow, using the Force to repair his suit, that's cool.
The weaknesses were inside of his body not in his suit.
very nice (short) video
2:00 for a second i thought his name was "Bullshit Tank"
I like Canon better. It's more interesting without undermining Sidious' authority to Vader. Sidious is calling the shots. Sidious is allowing Vader. Also the beating Vader got from the Jedi Master was amazing.
Vader: No
Sidious: Okay honey let me get you some tea, would you like suger with that sweaty?
They're just upset that something was changed. Insignificant as it is.
Some people enjoy shit and they praise it. Others don't and they critique it, maybe the grown men should understand that. Shameful really.
There was also the unique effects different crystals could have. The Mustafar crystal, which made lightsabers BLEED LAVA, sounded awesome.
I prefer the synthetic crystals, but honestly I've never felt that defensive about anything in star wars, it is what it is.
7:08 good lord Vader is just shreds of meat
That scene in the new Vader comic is one of my favorite. It also actually for once kinda shows sidious as not such a dick to Vader, in all media except the first 6 episodic movies of course...
That was awesome. Thank you.
Legends/canon. Basically conflicting writers choosing.
Ah yes that scientist's name was cylo
Great analysis on the video.
I still think sith making a kyber crystel bleed is the dumbest change disney has made.
I kinda like it
See the way i see it is what about banes rule of two and all the sith who came?
Palpatine: I will repair your suit.
Vader: *triggered*
I just love your videos
Title should be changed to: How Dark Vador told Sidious he was going to fix his own suit 🤣
Cool stuff sir
Wait, if he was given free range to modify the suit then why the hell did he leave in the extreme vulnerability to force lightning?
Marlon Linares you’re assuming it’s possible to fix that
He added extra insulation to the suit, but that still did little against Sidious’ force lightning
"A jedi named Bullshit tac"
😆
2:14 "unarmed" I see what you did there
Alternate Title: How Vader Convinced Sidious to Let Him Have an Allowance.
Love the new intro!
Both are really freaking cool! Damn I can't choose one.
Well done!
Great video
Quite amazed as to how willing Sidious was to let Vader modify his own suit...
Especially how Sidious was the one who intentionally planned for Vader’s suit to be flawed...
Either story doesn't sound like Vader convinced palpatine, he just told him.
The Dark Mother repaired Darth Maul legs with her dark Sith Magic why didn't Palpatine do the same for Vader.
Sidious likely didn't want to risk Vader being close to full power and being able to turn on him like every sith apprentice has to their master (himself included), hence having the droids use inferior materials and tech when crafting his suit and life support.
How did the Sith make a Kyver crystal bleed?
simple by pouring all of there hate pain and other sithing emotions into along with the dark side of the force
Whats the intro music
Another addition to my demands
