      @FoundationVocalStudio  Год назад +1

      Hey Tim! Thanks for the advice. No, the account itself is gone - no notification at all. I was simply prompted to set up a new account when I logged in from that moment. I've spoken directly to YT Creator team, they deny the account was compromised and have refused to reinstate the account or give me any further information. Once I mentioned I had lost revenue and also lost reputation and subscribers built over a decade - they stated they would only communicate through their legal point from then onwards. I'm just going to move forward at this point, and perhaps it's some sort of lesson or sign that I'm yet to see and learn from. I'm half expecting this channel to disappear at some point in the same manner as I've talked about it publicly on their platform. Best - K

    Keagan, I’m confused because in this video it sounded like you contradicted yourself? In the beginning of this video step one you said for high notes to figuratively imagine starting at the hard palate and “then to send your voice diagonal and back“, and you were pointing your fingers towards the back of your head.… then towards the end of this video you said step three to sing forward… What am I confused about? Thanks, I follow you because you are one of the best voice teachers on RUclips and elsewhere!

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  4 месяца назад +1

      They're two different frequencies, so, what I mean is to sing in the back - but keep it bright and 'forward'. You'll have the pitch and body of the sound (and in the case of back vowels also ping) in the back, but you'll be have a bright tone in the front. K

    • @user-ug7po9bv3p
      @user-ug7po9bv3p 4 месяца назад +1

      Keagan, when you say sing in the back are you talking about the voice/the air stream that can be directed to go to the front or back or middle.? And you're saying to direct the airflow toward the back for high notes and not send the voice/airflow toward the front... is that correct? (Thank you!)

    This is a great overview of singing! Question: how do we focus on ‘diagonal and back’ and forward placement at the same time?

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  Год назад +1

      Excellent question - forward placement is actually a harmonic that is independent from your pitch, so a good way to learn this is to practice separating the sounds in your mind. Go between EH (bright in the mouth) to AH (bright in the back) but sing both with a bright forward sound - you'll notice there's actually more than one sound going on. Then there's twang which is separate, your fundamental, and something like 12 other harmonics all going on at once. Learn to find the ones you need and boom! You can sing back into the pharynx but keep it forward at the same time :) -K

    Sucks that your old channel was deleted. I want to thank you for all your videos, they have helped me a lot, unlike those big channels telling you to just open your throat and do weird voices. Do you have any advice for the song Call me a dog, i can't hit the high notes in the chorus without pushing or straining, while the verses are really easy? I think i'm a tenor and have tried your vowel modifications, but can't make them work for me.

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  Год назад +1

      Ha, thankyou - no monkey sounds here just yet! Yes, I'll be using this as a reference - the key with "time" is to sing an AA vowel like the word 'cat' like t-AA-m but make sure it's not too wide. A slight cry in the tone will help you get there too!

    How do I sing back and diagonal and forward at the same time? I am struggling on what to focus on

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  6 месяцев назад

      You don't really sing 'forward' - it's more that you're bright at the same time; there's more than one sound going on at the same time. One sounds 'forward' and the other is the vowel resonating in the back.

      It's currently unclear to me also - I haven't been given an explanation as to what has happened, the channel (actually, whole google acount) was actively removed. Google deny it was hacked, but obviously, this is the only thing that I'm thinking. They either removed it themselves (they've refused to reinstate it), or someone has nefariously removed the channel without my knowledge. I'd like to move forward, but, it's definitely been a stressful and uncertain time for the studio. Best - K

    Is the point of diagonal and back creating resonance space?

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  Год назад +2

      Yes, plus also to get away from pronunciation - if you move a sound like AY into the back it basically HAS to become EH to resonate in that space. The diagonal shift is kindof "poor mans vowel modification" so to speak ha. Best - K

  • @cardo9904

    Do we bridge/mix our voice on or before the vocal break? I can reach e4 on my chest but kinda straining. I wonder if I need to mix/bridge my voice somewhere around c#4 or d4 to stop staining? Thank you in advance.

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  Год назад

      Depending on your voice, the E4 is likely dead-centre in your voice, and your 'breaks' are really a few tones either side of this range - maybe D4 and G4 give or take? Yes, in my book it's always below and into the note so the frequency shift is seamless instead of slamming into a new vowel or dragging where it isn't necessary. It really depends on the why - if you're using a cry tone from the E4 this will likely get you out of the mud, but if your vowel is super wide the whole way through you'll splat - so, try a more narrow setup for your vowel (put your fingers in your cheeks like people do for liptrills) and think IH/OE on either vowel. There's also the obvious answer of supporting correctly, but I'll assume you've tried what I suggested in the video of supporting OUTWARDS from the ribs instead of clenching. Let me know how it goes - K
