    Great teacher Sam and a master painter!
    I've oil painted for 40 years but I am colour blind which has always been a big a nuisance, you have put me on the right track now with understanding how to use and mix the paints in a landscape painting and I am very grateful for that!
    Cheers to you Sam.

    Blue Ridge Oils are very nice. The price is right too. I get really good service from them, and I always feel like I get the personal touch.

    Great video! In your patreon do you have videos of bigger paintings? Like 40 x 30 in? Thanks

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Henrique, most of the painting demonstrations on my Patreon channel are medium sized but I do paint the odd larger painting from time to time. All the techniques that I teach on Patreon can all be applied to larger paintings. I'm all about giving you a foundation in landscapes painting, understanding colours and values, painting tonality, composition etc so you can apply this with confidence to your own art works 😊

    Love your work. I have been battling with how to get the sparkles on water Thank you! How do you mount and frame painting on loose linen. I have only used stretched canvas.

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  Год назад

      Thanks Joan. There are a few ways you can mount a painting on loose linen, you can put it on stretcher bars, or you can have it mounted on a board or you can glue the painting to a board and then frame it after that 😀

    Lovely painting! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. ❤️ I have a question, please. Can these techniques also be used for acrylic painting?

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Amber, in answer to your question the answer is yes, absolutely, the colour mixing, values and painting tonality etc is all the same. The only difference with acrylics is you just need to keep in mind they dry quicker and dry darker as well. Other than that you are good to go 😊

    Do you paint a varnish or something as a final step

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  2 года назад

      Once dry you can apply retouch varnish which gives the painting a nice sheen. In order to apply actual varnish you need to wait at least 6 months to a year so the paint is truly dry. Thanks for watching 😊
