Awesome to have you back, Shan! ❤ Love this movie. Excellent performances all around. It also was the last movie I got to see with my dad before he passed away. For our entire lives, we always shared a love of cars.
Welcome back, Shan :) Great reaction as always. Would highly recommend another - but totally different - "car" or "race" movie: RUSH! If you haven't watched it by now - it's a must!
Wow you’re back, I missed you! I’ve never watched this movie I might have to go buy it just to watch along the reaction. 😂. Shan you should consider the Francis Ford Coppola movie “Tucker, The Man and his Dream” with the amazing Jeff Bridges, Martin Landau (best supporting actor award) and Christian Slater. It’s a fun ride!
Your absence was felt. You were much missed my friend. Hope you and your loved ones are doing well. Welcome back. It was great to see your reaction and to get your valuable insights again.
Strange. I'll notice Shan hasn't posted for awhile, so I go to check his channel, and within 2 days, he posts something new. Happened for like the last 4 times now.
Most reactors laugh at him when Ford is weeping. Then he says why and they sober up a little, but very few acknowledge their arrogance. Maybe arrogance is the wrong word. His portrayal is fantastic.
Steve McQueen starred in another film called 'Les Mans' back in the late 60s or early 70s. It looks very similar, but I haven't watched THIS one yet.You may want to check out the trailer for THAT one though. It was available on RUclips a few years ago. It was made in 1971....& it was pretty intense from what I remember. Steve McQueen...Real racing.
Shan glad to see you back mate missed your reactions I will watch your reaction when I've seen the movie I've been so busy just lost my dad waiting for ortopssy not had chance to greave yet
Can someone tell me what Shan's been saying on Patreon? I don't want to pay for a month to learn he's given up. But I would like to know if he plans to come back.
Good to see you back. To answer a question you posed, the best place to sit to watch a race depends on which track you are at. At an oval, the best seat would be fairly high up at the start-finish line. And sitting near the top of the grandstands in the middle of a corner gives you a view of almost the entire track. For a road course, honestly the best seat is at home in front of the TV.
Fantastic to see you again! Hope all is well. Let's get into this reaction to one of my favorite movies. Ford's have always been my favorite of the classic muscle cars and the Shelby Cobra is just an Iconic 60's car. To answer where is best place to watch an entire race...at home! I've never attended a road course race but have a few Nascar races including the one at Indianapolis. It's 2.5 miles around and pretty flat so you are pretty limited to what is on your end. I sat between turns 3 and 4 and could only see cars entering turn 3 then lost sight of them because they were up against the wall then watched them go through turn 4. I lost sight of them about when they entered pit road. You attend for the spectacle of it all.
I’ve attended 4 Daytona 500s and about a dozen other races. It’s funny how in racing the farther from the track you are…and hence the higher up…the better the seats are considered. I do like sitting right next to the track, too, though. You feel the race more. The rumble. Smell the oil and rubber. I like sitting between turn 4 and the finish line, near the entrance of pit road. You see the cars pushing hard out of the corner to take the lead and hear the acceleration to the finish line, plus all the pit action. Sitting at the exit of pit road, where the cars are racing for the lead into turn 1 is my 2nd favorite.
@@BDogg2023 Back then I was in retail grocery business and had infield passes for the General Mills hospitality tent, John Andretti driving (small brag). @@medaugh Nice. I worked in grocery stores for 5 years from 92-97. Fun place to work. Never been to the infield, but my first Daytona in 98 you could still walk all the way up to the chain link fence people drove through to get into the infield when the race wasn’t going on. 6 inches from the cars, nothing in between…43 cars going by at 200mph…there’s nothing like it!

@@miller-joel that actually happened. Miles did get screwed out of the win because of the technicality of bringing closer to his car in the running start.
Ok I went to the vintage races at Road America once. Like the name implies it's a road course so there isn't really one place you can view the entire race from. Le Mans is also a road track so you can't see the entire race at one time unless watching it from a TV broadcast. To my knowledge the only races you can actually see the entire track at one time is something like NASCAR or smaller local races. Even Formula 1 you pretty much need to watch it on TV to see the entire race. BUT Nothing is quite like watching in person. For instance at Road America the track winds up and down some small will through a forest. You can hear the cars intermittently as they traverse the track. Then you feel (literally) the raw power of their engines as they thunder past you. I recommend vintage races because they will have Can Am cars from the era of this film take the track. They are SO loud and Powerful it's like having a light of WW2 fighters ruble past you on ground level.
Yay, the Shanmeister is back! 🥳 This is one of the best racing movies out there, because they didn't "dumb down" the subject matter for those viewers who might not be familiar with it ( I watched "Gran Turismo" yesterday and...oh my god...what an abomination). Another great example is "Rush" (2013) which is based on a true story as well (1976 Formula 1 season), starring Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl. Also a great view into that era of sports car racing is "Le Mans" (1971) with Steve McQueen, which is almost a semi-documentary, filmed partly at the 1970 24h-race. There is also a recent movie called "Ferrari" (2023) with Adam Driver starring as Enzo Ferrari, directed by Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral), but I haven't seen that yet. This era of motor racing depicted here really was a blood sport, not only Ken Miles got killed in 1967 during testing, his Ferrari rival in the Le Mans race, Lorenzo Bandini, also died that year in a fiery wreck during the Formula 1 race of Monaco. The driver Miles is racing in the 1966 24h of Daytona race (when he wins and earns his start for Le Mans), Walt Hansgen, died shortly after that race while testing the Ford GT 40 for Le Mans. By the way, Ferrari never again won the 24h of Le Mans overall after 1965 until 2023, which was the first year they went back to the top class of sports car racing since 1973. If you are interested, this years' 24h of Le Mans is promising to be one of the biggest and best ever, with 23 cars of 8 major car manufacturers (like Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, BMW, Lamborghini, Cadillac) competing for the overall win, with 62 cars (in 3 classes) entering in total. Ford will be there as well, although only in the production-based GT class with a couple of Mustangs. It's on the weekend of June 15/16, so go and catch some of the action! 😎
