- Today's NASCAR Heat 5 setup will be for Daytona and Talladega. These tracks are very similar and I use the same setup at each. The focus at Daytona and Talladega will be max speed and the setup will reflect that. The goal for Qualifying is to minimize the amount of speed lost in the corners using a combination of setup and driving line. The setup for both Xfinity and Trucks is nearly identical to Cup so I will only show Cup and reference a few changes make to the setup for Xfinity and Trucks.

Thank you Sir for really taking the time and effort to put these videos out! They really help clear up some of the setup issues in the NH5 game. Some numbers dont seem to make sense, but as you know, the sim game here likes to go against the physics of real world applications in some settings.
Love how fast this setup is but the right front tire wear is insane,I blow a tire in like 4 laps. What am I doing wrong ?
Its the setup. The Camber is WAY too much. Puts undue wear on the right front. You have to increase that right front camber. You'll lose a little right front corner grip and a little speed through the corners. But it's the only way to make a tire last longer than a handful of laps.
Think he does a qual set up then a race set up..
You probably put in the qualifying one, at the end is the racing one

Is it the same setup for talledega and Daytona?
I want to qualify in the top 5 at Daytona and Talladega. I always qualify in the rear of the field.
I am confused. I have a maxed out truck, 0 driving aids, complete loose set for no speed loss, I hit 0 walls, 0 curbing, maintain 182 mph through the curves, and I still qualify 31st on Talladega. Wtf?
NASCAR heat 5 uses the draft times from IRL in their database. You get the non draft times in game.
Great setup. Had me running a 43.050 in race. Started in 40th and did really well with all assists off, playing on legend difficulty, 25% length and x4 wear and fuel consumption.

@@marcelojorge_2006 Losen the setup a bit and your right tires will wear a bit more evenly. He says in the video what to do if you want to tighten or loosen the setup.

This setup got me my first win as a car owner in the Xfinity in my career
I know this is an old game, and I probably wont get an answer, but why are there no setup guides for any of the road courses??
You covered everything different between the 2 setups but I didn't hear you say that you came down on the bump on all 4 shocks by 33% (5 clicks).
There is ine thing that bugs me in this game lol. In a real race car on a oval dropping left front tire pressure while keeping right front the same does not loosen corner entry, it tightnens corner entry. Backwards on this game. Same thing with shocks. Keeping right front the same and lowering left front will tighten entry. Increasing it will lossen entry. Its the total oppsite of the right front. The game has the right front correct but no the left front. They got the rears right but the front is not. Now if you go too far you mess your stagger up and it will do unpredictabke shit.

So I always qualify anywhere from 35th - 38th at Daytona just on the standard default setup however after using this setup I have just got pole for the first time on a plate track

So in the cup setup, i can't hit 200 in the straights, any suggestions other than getting a wheel lol
Any advice on tightening the race setup? I’ve cranked wedge up and lowered both track bars and I can’t make it through turn 3 on my warmup lap without going completely around.

Did you try increasing the left rear spring to bring to closer to the right side like ex. Like 300 or 350 on left rear spring and 600 on right rear spring?
Go watch Ray Dillon's asphalt oval setup on youtube. No offense, but you're claiming a stiffer LR spring tightens the car up. That's backward. Good video quality, tho.

Setups fast no doubt about it ran against legendary AI in a crappy career mode car an ran a 44 second lap an held with them all race. BUT I could have won but the RF tire keeps wearing out on me way fast what’s the fix?

Does absolutely nothing for the trucks, same time as before, ai are faster than my top speed and I can’t reach the practice time to progress, this gave me hope.

I show a Q setup and race setup in the video. Very similar but a couple differences for the race.

I usually have no chance to qualify against Max Ki. Then use the Tight and Loose setting. Could you make a video where you have good settings for the routes where you simply adjust the car. And roughly explain what a short route and the other best is the simplified setting.
I'm a little late to the party. I just got the game a few days ago and I came across your video witch is very good by the way. I just had a question. Do the end results depend on your engine? For example my engine is only 75 and as you can imagine it's kind of frustrating watching cars just blow by you in career mode.
That definitely effects it. With an underfunded team you need to grind it out for a while and have lower expectations. I like joining a good team for at least a season to rake up some money before creating my own team.

I am using this setup and my right front is melting my tire any suggestions??
Look at your inner, middle, outer tire temps. If the inside temp is way hotter your air pressure is too high. If your right front has very hot inside temp then you have too much negative camber in the right front for race setup. If outer tire temp is hottest on the left front you are running too positive camber in the left front. Problem is probably in one of those areas. Can't have maxed out camber for the race. Your temps across the tire will tell you what you need to do. In a perfect world you want all 3 sections of the tire to be close to the same temp as possible for race setup. Also if you are wearing out the right front way more than the right rear take out some wedge. Less wedge puts more weight on the right rear and left front and takes weight off the right front and left rear which will help right front tire wear. It won't help the left front though. Might make left front wear a little more.

found one of the setup vids. I see we can change the wheel lock and steering off set. Do you know if this change alters the main steering setting that when do at the start of the game for calibrating the use of our game pad or wheel for those that use it.

The game disables custom setups when using diving aids. That's the only reason I'm aware of for the option not to show.

I appreciate your setups. I just hit 45.588 @ 206 mph in two car draft. I hit 45.761 no draft. I can really feel the front downforce disappear when I roll up on another car. Thanks and keep them coming. 👍🏾 Cup. I haven’t tried truck yet.

The DNF on/off is in the race settings where you set up your draft and difficulty. I turned mine OFF! lol

Yes, just some minor changes between the 3 series. Such as rear end ratio. Xfinity should be about 2.91 and trucks should be about 3.00-3.10

Make sure you are on expert difficulty, won't show up otherwise

I cant see where to even put in the custom setups i see on youtube and mine from NH4. Where do i go? Even in the test section i dont get the option to do them like i did in NH4
If you don't see the option to use custom setups then it could be because of driving aids.
I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game. Still dont see any spot to do the setups. I dont even get the standard Tight or Loose default setting for it. I never use and driving aides. I am wondering if its a bug of some sort since it was a digital preorder. Thanks for your help on this as well as i want to thank you for your video content. Very informative and helpful.

Yeah not between Daytona and Talladega but between all other tracks setups will be very different from track to track

Been playing this game for two weeks .... never seen this screen
before you start the race you have to set it up first. before a race it says car setup in the top right corner. press the button it tells you and then scroll to custom race setup.
Career mode is broken. Car setups do not take effect.

Did you save the settings before you went on track?
You also have to consider the equipment quality. If you're driving for a 3 star team, this setup will not put up front as it would driving for a 5 star team.
