Enjoyed your sew along, nicely done with a lovely result. If I might suggest, to avoid that tricky fly overlocking I usually overlock each piece separately before stitching them together.
Thank you! Yeah the fly was a bit tricky as it’s cut all as one pattern piece on the front leg probably would benefit from being separated for easier seam finishing x

Thanks for your great sewing demo. Very helpful having pattern book & video side by side. For me, I found it a little more difficult seeing some of the video's detail unless zoomed in. I think partly due to the darker navy blue colour & my aging eyes! I found the pattern true to size & the elastic msmts in the pattern spot on. Thanks again. I look forward to future videos from you : )

What an interesting pair of pants! The elastic in the back isn't overdone, just enough to make them comfy and the flat front means you don't have to wear the top 'out'. They look smart indeed. Those pockets are a unique detail. Love them!
I admit I was nervous when you decided on making the size 4 with only a .6 ease, but you must have cheated just the right amount because they fit perfectly in the hip. I envy you making a pair of pants straight from the pattern with no fussing at the crotch length or curve and having them fit so well! No pulling or extra fabric anywhere.
You did a great job with the sew along especially with the challenges of the lighting and using that dark fabric. 👍
Ahh thank you so much 😊 yeah I must admit I was a bit nervous and the inner leg seam was the last bit to sew and it did go through my head about what if they don’t go over my hips after all that effort 🤣 I don’t know if it was luck rather than skill to be honest! I have been very lucky with trousers I have made so far (not that many yet) that I have managed to get a good fit out of the packet. I have had a few not go quite to plan in the past but I didn’t know how to change the patterns to try them again. I may actually revisit some of those patterns and adjust them now to try and up my skill in those areas and document that 👍 x

Hi Michelle. The pants look great. The waistband is similar to the Pietra pants frkm Closet Core Patterns. I've made two of those for my sister. Great to see you using a New Zealand designer - fellow Kiwi here 😀 . Also love to see the cameo appearance by your furry friend 🐈⬛
Ahh yes I do have the Pietra pants as well so I would love to try those too! Even though they are similar I just love trying out different pattern designers to see how they construct and their little design features. This was my first papercut patterns experience and I really want to try more from them now 💖
@@SewingBunny Just a note. The Pietra pants run a bit on the bigger side. Both pairs I made for my sister were meant to be for me!!! They do make up nice though.

Saw you using the bodkin before, so got one, and it's so much easier than threading elastic with a safety pin!! Great tutorial and I might be trying those pants. Thanks

Great fitting pants. I hate pants that makes you look like you are looking like a balloon. 😂 I have bigger hips but thinner legs. It's hard to get a good pattern for me. Love your sew alongs. I just cut out a new top while watching your vlog. 😁
Yeah I was a bit worried as especially some elasticated waist ones can be a bit hit and miss but I was really impressed with these 💙 have fun sewing your top you cut out 👍

Yeah I want to try the shorts too! I think they will be really cute 🥰 yes I mainly sew standing up but occasionally do sit down but have to put a footstool under the table for the pedal due to the height of my table and chair 😂 so most of the time it is easier to stand x

Ahh thank you so much! You can finish seams in a few ways, if your fabric doesn’t Frey too much then I have used pinking shears to finish off or if you use a zig zag stitch close to the edge of the seam and that can work nicely too x

They are papercut patterns. Google them and you can go to their website. I bought them as a pdf on Friday and they were having a 30% off sale. Not sure what day the sale ends.

Yeah the Agnes I actually make the next size up for my measurements as I find it quite close fitting. I fall into the size 4 but for the Agnes I make the size 5! Hope that helps x

Yes it was 100% enzyme washed linen so it feels a bit softer x
