I have such a chore finding the perfect fabric for bottoms that is comfortable and practical.

It's hard isn't it. I love a viscose or a viscose linen is also nice. I'm coming to realise that sometimes less is more with fabric and I'm going to spend a bit more now and make less to help me feel comfortable in what I wear x

The northcoate skirt is really lovely. I made it from a quite stable thick jacard knit. I love it and was so easy.

Great video!! My favorite pants pattern is the Pomona pants/shorts!! I hacked it into a skirt as well and it's my favorite skirt too :)

I’m just getting into sewing trousers. Currently working on a pair of The Everyday trousers from New Craft House which is such a lovely pattern. Thinking of making some joggers later this year so nice to hear about the Stella - think they will be the perfect cosy home trousers!

They look like a lovely comfy sew :) I never feel quite as excited to sew trousers as dresses I'm not sure why x

Those Safiya trousers are so pretty!!! There is a similar pattern in the Ahead of the Curve book by Cashmerette that I want to try but in a colder weather weight.

Thanks for sharing all your lovely ”bottoms”! I don’t tend to sew fitted trousers eighter, instead I have made several loose fitting ones with an elasticated waistband, similar to the pair you showed that you found too long. The type of pocket you showed is called slash pocket I believe and that is what I always make in my trousers as well. I have drafted the pattern myself, copying a pair of ready made. Maybe you can just chop off yours to the length you feel comfortable in?

Thank you for watching! I find I wear looser trousers much more than fitted anyway but I feel it’s a skill I need to try at some point 😊 I could possibly shorten the trousers but I’m not sure if it would be weird with the tapered leg, something to think about anyway thank you xx

Can I ask if the T- shirt you are wearing is handmade? It is lovely.

Hi Sally good to see you I have made a couple of Safiya pants it’s taken me a while as I wasn’t sure about the width of the legs but I really love them thanks to you. If you make the Bonnie skirt again would you be able to show how you do the waistband I made this pattern couple of months ago and really struggled with it got there in the end but don’t think I did it correctly as there is a twist in the elastic just couldn’t get my brain around. X

I’ve made the TATB Stella joggers for me. And Hudson pants for my son. Cutting down to make him knee length shorts too. I’m wondering if I can use this pattern for me. I’d rather not buy another pattern if I can get away with the men’s one. I’m wondering how different they are.

I remember someone else saying this before and I think the conclusion was that they are actually quite different in shape. I would think it's definitely worth a try testing out the mens on you because the patterns are expensive aren't they x
