    What a comprehensive and inspiring video - I loved seeing all your Tilly makes and your fabric choices are gorgeous. When I got back into sewing maybe 5 years ago, the first thing I made was the TATB Mathilde blouse. I chose the wrong colour for me, and never wore it, but the pattern is gorgeous with pintucks and balloon sleeves. I’ve just cut out another in Atelier Brunette viscose.

      Thank you so much I'm really pleased you enjoyed it! I love the look of the Mathilde blouse but I've not made it yet. Maybe one for this summer ;) I love Atelier Brunette - I hope you enjoy it xx

    I love the black indigo dress with the frill around the hem - it looks fabulous on you but having said that if it is so uncomfortable to wear then give it the chop and make another in a more lightweight fabric. Love all your makes, thanks for sharing.

I must get around to making the Marigold trousers..they look so comfy to wear, especially in the summer months 👍. Thanks for sharing Sally and enjoy your sewing ✂😁💖😘

    I have recently bought material to make the pinefore dress for winter, thanks for the tip about the hips, I will be measuring it out very carefully, theres nothing worse than having tight areas on your clothes making you feel uncomfortable. Lovely Tilly makes I really like her patterns and always buy the hard copies! x

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  3 года назад

      I think it makes such a difference what fabric you use too. My denim one was a lot stiffer so was bound to give less stretch. I hope you enjoy making it :) Thanks so much for watching xx

    I would cut the Indigo dress made in viscose twill into a top and a skirt. The top would not need to be long to ensure you have enough for your skirt. The skirt could have an elastic waist band. If you are short on fabric use a different fabric for the waist band or the back part of the waist band. If the skirt is still too short you could put an extra tier on the bottom in the same fabric if you any left of it. If you have no fabric left of the viscose twill you could use a black fabric or another fabric that worked well with the black and white viscose twill.

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  4 года назад

      flower thank you! That’s a really good idea actually, I think I’m definitely going to go with the top at least to get more wear. Thank you for watching and commenting x

    Lovely selection of Tilly makes 😄. I love her patterns. I love your Safiyas and I've just made my first Indigo which I absolutely love. I'd leave yours as is, it's so pretty. If you ever line a Cleo, just interline it, so simple and quick, but very effective for tight wearing 👍. Thanks for sharing xx

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  3 года назад +1

      So sorry I missed this comment somehow!! I will definitely try interlining my next Cleo I hate it when they stick to your tights ;) Thanks so much for watching x

    • @sewlittletime
      @sewlittletime 3 года назад

      @@SecretLifeOfASeamstress ha, don't worry 😋....yes interlining is the way to go! Once you do it though, you feel you need to do it on lots of other projects, so then it does become more time consuming! Xx

    I think the indigo with the frill is gorgeous, but if you are not that comfortable in it and don't love wearing it, turning it into a top is a grand idea...

    I love all of your makes especially the Safiya dress. My daughter is called Sofia and every time I hear people talk about that pattern it makes me think of her (I believe Tilly calls it Sa-fee-a). I have the book but haven’t made any of those patterns. I’m going to have a go at making the Tabitha top and dress. I’ve made all the items from Love at First Stitch although the Lilou bodice doesn’t fit me well so I need to sort that one. I also have the Stretch book so I’ll make some patterns from that one soon. The only stand alone pattern I’ve made is the Bettine which I love 😊

      Noelia that’s such a pretty name! I always wonder how you’re supposed to pronounce it and now I know thank you :) I have the stretch book but have only made the Freya dress so far which I didn’t feel suited me very well. I think the make it simple is much more my style. Thank you for watching 😊 xx

    Such a pretty collection of Tilly makes! I am very much the same as you - I make adjustments as I go along and rarely jot them down then have to reinvent the wheel the next time I make the pattern! I think I personally would chop the dress made of the viscose twill if it isn't very comfortable to wear, as making it more wearable sounds great, I'll be interested to see what you decide xx

    Thank you for your video. Can I ask what type of elastic did you use for the Safiya trousers and playsuit? I bought some knitted elastic but it seems too stiff.

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  10 месяцев назад

      Oh gosh it was a while ago now so I can't quite remember. In my experience, all elastics tend to feel a little different depending on where you buy them from. I tend to get mine from either Hobbycraft or Fabric World local to us. Sorry to not be more help x
