Halsey being infected and frozen is a plot hole because Miranda implies she’s going to cure her eventually…. Wasn’t the whole point of the halo rings being built by the forerunners because the only way to fight the flood was by starving them/eliminating their food source. If there was a cure your telling me the most advanced alien species/Society couldn’t come up with one but Miranda Keys is? Did anyone do any research on this franchise before making a live action tv series about it. WTF
Thing is, a super advanced race missing something isn't actually that difficult to see as actually happening, lots of really smart people overlook really simple dumb solutions to things because they are looking in the wrong place, so its entirely possible the "dumb humans" in the right place at the right time could find something the more advanced species couldn't

In the early lore, the humans were as advanced as the Forerunners and the Flood are corrupted Precursors (Creator of the other races). The Forerunners thought that humans had a cure but the flood was lulling the forerunners into a false sense of security. The only way to stop the flood is to starve them.

Something that hasn't happened in the show, by definition, is not a plot hole. You're just speculating.
This style of writing is the problem with most modern shows. The writers are too stupid to create a method for their plot to advance, so you simply have a main character do something so OUT of character and so stupid to advance the plot.... It's not natural and it's not believable. As soon as you lose belief in the plot or characters themselves, the show is done.
You don't watch modern shows. Or a lot of them. Or do you just have youtubers do it for you to base an opinion or whatever?

Everything about The Flood portion was nonsensical.
-Biologist lies about touching it
-Biologist makes no effort to be careful after touching it
-Biologist kills people - clearly something abnormal happening -and is placed in a standard jail cell with no containment of any kind
-Lab where the infection started is apparently the last place affected by it
-Everyone in the lab where it started seems unphased about the murder
-People in the command center are infected, although obviously this would be one of the most secure areas due to a restricted amount of people in/out during an active battle taking place

ONI one of the smartest human organizations in the Halo universe. Builds their main base on top of a huge Forerunner city without knowing, gets literally invaded from 3 separate entrances with guards actively being involved but alert no one and then a literal biological outbreak that could easily be contained and yet still no one noticed? Whats more ironic is they send ALL their spartans away aka the perfect soldiers to have contain the flood but nope send them in to do a suicide. Meanwhile during that suicide mission Ackerson then sends the "largest human fleet" to help the suicide mission when it was literally about to be executed by Kai? Like if she actually set that bomb off like she was supposed too that entire UNSC fleet would have literally warped in and blew up immediately lol

I can sum this up in the words of my 5 year old. We are watching and I showed him a couple of cool parts. Where MC was crushing it. Then we started to watch reach episode. He looked at me dead in the eyes. "This would be way cooler if he had his armour." He destroyed my entire vibe.

For those that have seen this episode, how tf did Mackee get far away from Chief after he killed the Arbiter. She was right there facing off against the Chief. Next cut she disappeared and chief has to reopen the door again. This is the kind of shit i don't understand. How can anyone enjoy this crap when the writing is so bad? And why doesn't Chief shoot Mackee before she disappears?
I can't even answer the first part of the question, Except, Chief doesn't want to shoot Makee because he stupidly loves her, Which their love story whatever that was all about is just empty and dull when they hardly had any build up moments while Makee proclaims she and Chief are so much alike without knowing him much And for what? Just because they had the same vision for the Keystone? Pathetic!

So many lies. The season 2 halo TV series finale is a masterpiece of an episode. Seeing the flood/zombies in live action was a good surprise. The fight between master chief and the Arbiter having a 1v1 with a energy sword on the halo ring was unreal. This is a easy 10/10. GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW

2 things i just realized
1 that jenine chick started the flood outbreak right next miranda. And the episode goes on for almost an hour that flood is killing and all that, and miranda is still in the same little office the entire time. She doesnt escape or anything. And by the end shes still in the same office and stuffed halsey in there. In the middle of a flood outbreak.
2 so this is the season finale. We saw chief fight 3/4 elites in fog, and duel arbiter. Thats it. Less fighting than season 1. And he kills 5 elites in the entire episode. Come on. Imagine playing “the maw” in halo 1 and you only killed 5 elites the entire mission 😭😭😭
Same energy as: Imagine finding the Proto Gravemind in “Keys” but there’s no Keys. There’s just no reason to grieve anyone, no reason to feel anything toward anyone, no reason to even give a damn.
The whole show is out of wack 😭😭 like a huge complaint is its so rushed.
But at the same time its so slow.
It took 1 season and 4 episodes to get to fall of reach. But then reach only lasts one episode. But yet, atriox was introduced like halfway through season 1, who is a villain in halo wars 2.
It takes 2 whole seasons to finally get to the halo (in a show called halo) but keys, halsey, arbiter, are all already dead. Oh, and the flood out break happened, but not even on a halo. On onyx.
Like these are all story beats they could have been building up instead of rushing. But they focused in so much other crap.

The flood can’t be cured, the flood can’t just *reside in someone’s DNA*, the flood were released due to stupidity in the series, not hubris like the games. The fall of Reach as you said was rushed and the entire lore is disrespected.
Red VS Blue was a better series based in Halo. And that series did its own thing.
@@Techmaster7032Official so im watching the series with my wife right. In the beginning (she stopped about halway, completely lost interest). Anyways we are on the fall of reach episode. Once i realized they are officially starting the fall of reach i paused the episode. And pretty much explained the ending of the game halo reach, and start of halo ce. Told her everyone is going to die, chief is gonna be in cryo sleep(maybe the other Spartans force him to get on the pillar of autumn and sacrifice themselves noble 6 style so the autumn can escape) cortana and keyes get on the pillar of autumn, halsey is going to survive, and keyes is going to do a blind jump to escape. A covenant fleet is going to follow led by the arbiter. Boom they land by the ring. The unsc is like “wtheck is that? Idk” but then it goes to the covenant and shows makee (maybe she dies in the fall of reach idk) and arbiter and theyr like “omg the holy artifact” and then the season end.
I told my wife all of this and told her this is probably going to last the rest of the season and its going to be sad and intense and last the next 3-4 episode.
Then keyes died, and i was like nope. Worst episode. They ruined it 😭😭😭 sure enough reach lasted 30min. And nothing that was supposed to happen happened. They had it written out for them and they fumbled it. Fall of reach (one of the best halo games) took place on one street alley, kind of a bridge, and a ship bay. 😭😭😭

Watching Paraongosky locked in the room with the flood being eaten alive was the most satisfying bit of this show. 😂

When Miranda and that other scientist were in the lab, this random joy music was playing. I genuinely thought it was an ad playing in the back, paused like 3 times to figure out it was in the show lmao.

The only scene with style, I thought it was decent, I just really wanted to see the flood again.
Also the fact that a whole outbreak was happening and no alarms went off at all😂😂 but there was an alarm when Chief broke in
My biggest complaint is that all the fighting in the series is done by the freaking ELITES! They aren't called "elites" for nothing! You should have Grunt shock troops, Jackals as sharpshooters etc. Instead we only have one jackal fight (where jackals are huge-ass aliens the size of Elites, who are also oversized in the series btw), and one Brute. Elites should be controlling the course of battle from the back row.
Nothing went the way it was supposed to that is not how the story of the very 1st Halo game went no Piller of Autumn once so ever
No Sargent Johnson is some of the biggest disrespect to me. Hes just as iconic to the game as chief was imho up to halo 3.

This show honestly breaks my heart. I love Halo so much. And I really wanted a dope tv show to be proud of and show a lot of the story from the books that are missing in the games. While they pull elements from the books, like the coin flip and Rubble and Onyx. It’s all done just so much worse. Really sad to see and hard to like a tv show that fails to understand so much of what Halo is really about.
Desptie this season being better then season 1 I always go back to the Captain Price quote from the original Modern Warfare "Its an improvement, but its not hard to improve on Garbage"

Interestingly enough, if we're to criticize this series on its obvious departure of the spirit of the Halo universe, we have to point out that the combat in Halo is the gun battles, not the fist fighting. I can count on one hand the number of times MC got into a fist fight with other characters (Locke for example), not counting the melee kills you get in the games. This could have been something the show could have explored that wasn't explored in the games or books ... MC's hand-to-hand combat skills.
I think this whole show/timeline is just Kiki Wolfkill trying to hijack halo and make it her thing. Sort of like how a squatter tries to claim someone else’s home until they get kicked out.

This review is far more exciting than the Halo TV series
I think one of the moments in the books that hit me really hard was a small simple moment, when the repair station UNSC Cradle moves in to take the first volley from the covenant at Sigma Octanus. Small moment that could have a big emotional impact that I still remember. This show doesn’t have anything similar in two seasons.
Yes...that space battle was what I yearned for in a live action...we got abandoned planets with spike mcguffins.
I still remember that part as well. one of my favorite parts and further reinforced just how desperate the situation was. They bought time with their lives and should forever be remembered

I don't even think it is. I could have every episode completely for free on my computer within 5 minutes, with just 3-4 mouse clicks. But I still only watched 4 episodes, then I was out. It's not Halo, it's not even passable generic sci-fi imo. For me, the show couldn't hold my interest even when it cost me zero money and zero effort to watch it.

The worst part is that some of the shots have sooooo much potential like chief looking up at halo. They just HAD to take his helmet off, and change the music, change the reason hes there, change how he got there, and everythint else. So much potential :/

There are plenty of things wrong with this show, but the one moment that really got me really pissed off is the MC and Arbiter fight seen in this episode when Chief defeats him, and the Arbiter asks for a warrior's death. When you listen to how the Chief states "I know what he said", the tone is not one of respect but of disgust. It was more of an execution. Not one time in the games or books does Chief kill an enemy that remotely resembles an execution. Not even when he defeats War Chief Escharum in Halo Infinite. The Chief actually empathizes with him. To me, this is the worst example of character assassination. For me, the Chief is an asshole in this shitty timeline because of the way he treated his fellow Spartans, and now the Arbiter.
The people that thought this was ‘good’ are probably the same people who thought halo 5 was a masterpiece in writing.

Halo 5 if it was not rushed could have been pretty good spread over several games but lead writer left and well had to have something. Halo 5 had potential to be good. Halo the TV show doesn't even seem to have had much of that even.
@@browal14idk, halo 5 imo was good. The thing i think that kills it for allot of people is that the marketing campaighn was a bit misleading and pissed people off when the game didint deliver what they thought what they would get.
However.... the campaighn adds werent entierly wrong. Yes lock fought chief in the 3rd mission. But realisticly we do persue him through the entier game. Not necisarily headhunting him like the bullet through chiefs helment add implyed. But we DID tail him the entier game. As for the trailer showing both lock and chief laying down in the pile of rubble. That was most likely implying that both partys believe what there doing is the right thing and there refusal to yeild to each outher. Lock will do what he can to complete his mission and so will chief. This the creation for the trailer.
As for the core campaighn people dont realize that the story tecnicaly revolves around cortana. Not the chief or lock. Every action taken by lock and chief is due to cortanas actions. With that being said, if they had made the whole game a litteral head hunt in halo 5 then that would push back the cortana guardian narritive. Of whitch btw was influinced by her contracting the logic plaige in halo 3 from the gravemind. Whitch quite litteraly turns ai against there creators. The same thing happend to mendicant bias.
All in all halo 5s story is good, but it suffers imo at fully explaining why cortana was doing what she did. You have to understand lore to fully grasp whats going on. Whitch is only draw back. Tho realisticly i dont think the unsc or chief would ever have any way of knowing what logic plaige is so.... yea, it kinda makes since why it wasnt explained

I just don’t get it. It’s like - they had an incredible, award winning, masterpiece of a story on a gold platter. And they purposely bastardize and reduce every part of it. Everything that mattered, the gravity of the plot, removed. Arbiter? A bitch pawn enforcer of a senseless human covenant spy. Brands HIMSELF a traitor to no fanfare or show, then immediately gets beaten to death after a short fight with Chief. His importance squandered. Given to Makee who they know most people hate the idea of. The Flood was meant to be a result of the Covenant’s ignorance and attitude. Here, it’s some basic accidental infection because a scientist broke basic safety rules and touched an unknown substance from a test tube and frolicked in the Onyx lab from its control or something. The Fall of Reach was way too brief and under-expressed. Lacked the depth of importance and mass destruction of a planet full of billions of people being annihilated. The military complex of humanity. Felt like a town was sacked. The Spartan IIIs are a joke here. They went way too hard on the mass sacrifice and don’t know what they want them to be. Are they trained for years since children like in the books? Some characters act like they have been, but are scared of battle for no reason. Or are they adult volunteers like Perez? Both? They purposely do stuff that are the major complaints of the series. We don’t like Kwan? They force her into the major plot by giving her mystical shaman powers. We don’t like Makee? They RAISE HER FROM THE DEAD and make her the Arbiter’s handler and replacement. We want more armor? They literally have someone take it away from the characters so they can’t use it. They seem to think the Covenant is made up 90% of Elites. Where are the grunts? We see way more of them than we do of grunts or jackals. They don’t care about feedback. It’s not redeemed in the slightest. Every point they touch, they bastardize and ruin. They took the story of Halo, abandoned it to die of starvation, buried its corpse in a shallow grave, exhumed it’s rotting remains, blended it’s contents in liquid excrement, and served it with a fresh coat of paint. It is sad and frustrating to me that this is some people’s only experience with Halo.

We had no complaints about how Cortana looked? They went out of their way to mess up her face to the point of her face being utterly distracting every time she's on-screen.
Well spoken. They don't care, the writers producers look down on Halo seeing it as beneath their notice. Yet also a golden opertunity to get millions of fans into there work. So they'll modify Halo into something unrecognizable and abuse the brand with THEIR IDEAS.

I'm a Halo diehard. I've read all the books and played most of the video games (stopped after Halo IV for obvious reasons). My favorite spartan is Kelly-087 of whom we only see outside the books in Legends, The Fall of Reach, briefly at the end of Forward Unto Dawn, and a single easter egg text file in the games. I've hated this show from the first few episodes of season 1. Anyone who claims they're a Halo diehard and they like this show are lying in some way. A true Halo diehard would be offended at how much they lobotomized the lore and characters.
We basically wanted the games story in live action and the only way that would of been done justice is in a movie but because of microsoft we never got that and now halo is dead and nobody cares

What sucks with this is that every time a studio takes a beloved property and does a poor job with it, the less likely the property is to get another chance with a better studio. Like asked has said, Halo is a layup with the amount of quality low and story bits to play off of that you really have to screw up to make such a poor rendition of the property.
It's crazy. I remember hearing about Peter Jackson was really serious about doing a Halo movie in the late 2000s. Then it was gonna be Neil Blomkampt, because the hobbit movies got in the way, then there were rumors that Guillermo Del Toro was gonna do it, then Steven Spielberg got attached to produce, and FOR YEARS nothing came about and then 3 years ago Paramount greenlit this show. It was so surreal. Finally we were getting a Halo adaptation! (I know Forward Onto Dawn exists)
But it could not be any more obvious that the filmmakers involved could not give a damn about the source material and that the original idea for this show was not supposed to be Halo, rather an Expanse clone. But the suits at Paramount wanted a Halo show so they forced it into a script that had nothing to do with it and now we have this mess.
I get it- you have to change things when adapting to different mediums. That's just inevitable. What may work in a game may not work well in a movie or TV show. But if you're gonna change stuff, make sure it's for the better. I'd be fine with this story and even this universe if the characters and world building weren't so underwhelming. And I feel most Halo fans would be forgiving too. But now here we are, 2 seasons in, and it feels like we've sunk beneath Halo 5. Think about that.

At the end of the day, if you know nothing about Halo, I think this is a half-decent sci fi show. Yes, half of it is full of pointless soap opera, yes there's some characters like Soren's family that are pointless, yes Kwan is annoying and out of place, but there's still entertaining elements in my opinion. I was still entertained by it. And if not, at least I was laughing at the ridiculousness of some bits. And I used to love Halo lore back in the Halo 2-3 days. But I moved on to better things in the 15+ years since. By how outraged some of the anti-fans of this show are, I would recommend they move on too. Halo lore has jumped the shark a long time ago anyway.
4:51 holy shit this looks bad. Remember in the final mission of Halo Wars, that cutscene with Seargant Forge versus the Arbiter? From 2009? How does a game cutscene from 16 years ago look better than a major release today?
I've got no problem with TV series changing things from the source material cos it's a different medium, things that work in games don't necessarily work in a series format.
I don't even have a problem with simplifying certain things to make the story more accessible. Not everything has to be incredibly deep lore if you can find something more straightforward that a wider audience will just understand.
But if you're going to change *this much*, to arbitrarily write in completely unnecessary tangents and bizarre tonal shifts (flood intro being horror in the games to... whatever that was) why use the Halo licence?! Just create something original at that point.
Any game can be change to tv format, it just how they do it , last of us proved it and added story to the side characters, it just comes down to people actually caring and being creative

I think the choice of having the flood released on onyx instead of halo is because they probably want the gravemind to be created, but they don’t want us to visit the ring from halo 2.
I think you’re right. The first thing I thought was that parangowski was going to be the gravemind. I still feel like the ring will have the flood on it as well. These other idiots just ran into it by accident on Onyx To set up parangowski as the big bad for future seasons .
I agree with the three of you, this was the best episode out of the other drivel they’ve made and it was littered with cool things. Like a pile of shit decorated in gold. I hate how they’re mashing and condensing bits of the lore into another divisive half baked halo product.

The writers treatment of this Halo reminds me of how I felt when my idiot cousins came to visit and ruined all my Lego when I was a kid - mixing up pieces from different sets, putting cowboy Lego with my Ninja legos etc, ruining the epic lore I built into my little set pieces which I had so carefully constructed.
