- In this video, we'll be discussing why Turtle WoW has been able to thrive despite the legal issues surrounding private servers, and how it may even be better than any official Classic Plus server that Blizzard might release.
Turtle WoW has been able to exist for several years without any issues. One of the main reasons for this is that the servers developers are unknown and the server is likely hosted in russia. This makes it difficult for Blizzard to take legal action against the server.
There are several reasons why Turtle WoW might be a better option for players looking for a classic plus experience.
Firstly, Turtle WoW offers a more immersive and community-driven experience than official WoW servers. The server has a strong focus on roleplaying and encourages players to engage with the world and each other in a meaningful way. This creates a sense of immersion that is often lacking in official WoW servers, where players can often feel like they're just going through the motions.
Secondly, Turtle WoW has a number of unique features that set it apart from official WoW servers. Which adds to the sense of exploration and discovery.
Finally, Turtle WoW has a dedicated development team that is constantly working on improving and expanding the server. This means that the server is constantly evolving and improving, which is not the case with official Classic WoW Era servers.
Ultimately, the decision of whether to play on Turtle WoW or an official server will come down to personal preference. Some players may prefer the polished experience of official servers, while others may prefer the more community-driven and immersive experience of Turtle WoW.
At the end of the day, Turtle WoW is a fascinating example of how a server offers a unique and immersive, yet vanilla-like experience that is deeply appealing to many players, and it will be interesting to see how it evolves and grows in the years to come.
I can not express how much I love turtle wow's emphasis on horizontal progression. They don't wish to add more progression passed 60. They don't wish to even raise the progression bar in raiding beyond classic. They merely want to add more ways, & improve upon existing ways, of reaching the same end goals. More raids, dungeons, & zones on par with their counterparts, along with improvements upon existing content. Each new peace of content simply adds variety, such as kiss-curse builds for each class/spec, or new classes to level - through new & existing (ever-improving) content.
End game content no longer consists of chasing an ever higher ilvl. Horizontal progression is the future. Trivializing old content is terrible for the health of the game. That's what attracts new & returning players.
I'd love to try Turtle WoW sometime. I love how they've taken their server's story in a new/different/AU timeline and added things like High Elves to the Alliance. It's very creative and interesting. A story/setting based on the old WoW lore and doing more with that old lore is amazing to me.

The only case of a private server being successfully shut down was nostalrius & even that failed. The data was simply transferred to new servers. Nothing to fear
Been playing WoW since 2005. I played on Elysium, Lights Hope and Official Blizzard Classic WoW servers. I have been playing WoTLK Classic but truly wanted a Classic (vanilla) plus and that's when I discovered Turtle WoW. I put Wrath aside and started devoting most of my time to Turtle WoW. The Turtle WoW team is doing a fantastic job. They have truly made a great version of classic plus. I hope that someday Blizzard catches on and does the same.

There was a blizzlike private server before elysium and lights hope i played on but i forgot its name. badly scripted but very popular. For me I would like turtle wow more if there was pvp server and no cross faction play but its ok tbh

Great server for sure but I've thought the '+' on this server is sort of a joke, I think the most meaningful stuff they added was rep grinds for new mounts and stuff but the actual content like dungeons and zones are empty and not fleshed out, most players skip them entirely.
lol listening to that private server lore brings up so many memories i forgot i had. can't believe i actually played on all those servers enough to remember all the drama
Hi, i want to play Classic, and maybe BC on private server, where and ehat server would you recommend? I want it as close and similar to the real thing as possible. And where do i download and play the legit no scam or virus versions?:)
Turtle wow will not get shut down. And even if it does it will be a better experience on turtle wow than whatever activblizz could do and I will be happy that I did not support activblizz. Activblizz should not have been the home for classic wow and I definitely do not trust activblizz to do vanilla+

I never got to xfer my Nost characters to Elysium, the transfer service was turned off within a couple days :(

The server only had 4k pop at peak one time. I don't think blizz care .
Turtle WoW has gone over 4k population every day lately. It went over 4.7k on sunday and over 4.5 yesterday. I agree though i doubt blizz cares enough to do anything, warmane has been 10k+ for a while now.

@@jarlfisk The Fresh mentality killed every realm its been on. It is 100% against what Turtle stands for. I have been on Turtle since 2019 I feel great knowing I can take many months off playing and come back and pick up where I left off
There are also people like me who won't give Blizzard money, for any reason, ever again.
Private servers is the only way I can experience the same games again, or play them in a developed state through mods. Diablo 2 didn't need a remake, it needed attention and the community answered. Same goes for WoW.
This is a company that mocked their most devout players, there's nothing that can bring my loyalty back. Especially not when they're owned by Microsoft who are in the midst of turning Minecraft into the same type of soulless cash cow.

If I had time to make RUclips videos I would make a list of things wrong with Turtle WoW, because people really are overlooking so many issues and bugs. Not because I don't like Turtle WoW but because there are so many things that all private servers never get right in just the basic coding that keep them from Vanilla-like.
Throw me your list in here, and maybe I will make the video
private servers have bugs, simple as. There have only been like 2 or 3 cores ever made due to how complicated it is and lack of old data, and everyone uses the same ones. If a team found a way to buy one of the old physical servers then we'd have a pretty polished core to play/work on.
@@shjelde660 I have only gotten to lvl 10 and I have only played a bit of the starter undead zone and Elwyn Forest (Turtle WoW). I do HC on Classic and I have intimate knowledge with Elwyn Forest and these are the things I have noticed.
***DISCLAIMER I do not know what things have been changed purposefully by the Turtle WoW devs these are just differences I have noticed***
1. None of the pathing mobs path. Zoomy murlocs around crystal lake, defias, bears, wolves, kobolds, spiders, gnolls. There are specific mobs that always have long paths and there has never been a private server that I have been on that can make these mobs work. The only pathing I saw (and it still wasn't right) was the defias around jarods landing. Pathing mobs are what can really shake up your replays but when you know where every mob is going to be it really takes the fun out of it.
2. In both the spider cave in undead starting zone and the kobold caves in Elwyn the mobs spawned back in the exact order they were killed. I am not sure if classic has spawning based on the mobs that are still up or what but sometimes an entire cave will spawn on you in turtle wow it's very static and predictable.
3. Not all mobs brought to low health are supposed to slow down, but every mob I have killed except for Goldtooth has done this, also if a mob is scripted to run away from you at low health they are not supposed to always turn and run away from you, sometimes they can run directly through you, sometimes they should be scripted to run back to other mobs etc. Also if I evade a mob I should not be able to run back to its starting location faster than it does, in Classic, they double in speed back to their location after being evaded but in Turtle WoW they are slow for some reason when evading.
4. The new quest added to collect the sheep in Elwyn has an emote that doesn't identify the player doing the quest. So if I am not doing the quest I still get an emote saying sheep is crawling into my pack, it's not a bug per se, but it is weird and confusing. On that same quest if I am doing it and my inventory is full one of the food charges will be used but I won't get a sheep in my back and the quest has to be abandoned and redone.
5. The new gryphon quest added in Elwyn is bugged if you collect all the quest items but then use the meat for the billy pie quest and re-acquire the amount of meat you need it will not let you turn in the quest without abandoning and re-getting the quest.
6. Loot tables are wrong. On Classic I did an HC challenge where I could not do quests. So from level 4-7 I killed the spiders in the starting zone cave. They drop all the starter gear, 2 pcs of white spider gear and different spider parts. On Turtle WoW I never got a single piece of starter gear and some of the spiders dropped multiple amounts of the same part. I do think it was cool though that they added the white spider gear as a quest reward to kill the named spider and they made her 3 times bigger. When she spawned it scared the shit out of me :D.
7. In Classic the Mangy Wolves and young wolves right outside the starting area are supposed to be linked, but in Turtle WoW they aren't.
8. I choose skinning and leatherworking as a profession on Turtle WoW. Mobs that aren't looted are sometimes shown as skinnable and when I crafted a quiver it went into the quiver I already had equipped instead of into my bags like it is supposed to. Only ammo should go in the quiver or ammo pouches.
What does that matter if the game works and is fun for the players?
Even classic vanilla has bugs? And still does in the wrath state lol, you mean like the bug/exploit that the streamer used to get classic first 80? Lol I can give you a good list of bugs from classic vanilla that’s FROM blizzard

Haha there was some drama about 60s roaming around this server looking for HC warmode players since they wanted 30% bonus XP. Lots of salt for sure.

@@owens945 yeah i discovered it last year. Big wrath server. they actually host like 5 servers and their second one is still bigger than turtle wow with about 5k players. And they have a shop similar to turtle. Im not even entertaining the idea of being shut down UNLESS Blizzard say they are doing classic+ themselves OR they shut down that warmane server.

2. im a content creator and i want to cover all things classic
3. i'd just be interested to see what they do
4. even tho i dont like blizzard, i love their game, and my passion for that is greater than my hate for blizzard :b i actually enjoyed classic before it became the botting shitshow it ended up as
