- Here is my initial testing of Astrobrights cardstock for rhinestone templates. If you are looking for an affordable yet effective way to save on rhinestone materials then you have arrived in the right place.

I always use cardstock with the cricut to cut my rhinestone templates. Then I attach the template to a dollar tree cutting mat.
Thanks Katherine. Adding it to a cutting mat is another great option.

I'm so glad you gave us a much more "pocketbook friendly" method using card stock! 1:57 love how you actually SHOW us how it's done in the software to design in silhouette. 6:04 😅 beat them into submission n ohhh ok they flip over thay way. This is an amazing video I just got into rhinestones and do not want to use the flock for price reasons. I like the rhinestone embellishment magnet ones but they also cost money after a while and then you have to store a whole bunch of them somewhere. Thank you thank you for this video

I have an addition to your template. I use dollar tree glitter vinyl on the top of the card stock. The reason is nothing will stick to it! I have been making cheer bows that have 20ss stones in a wave patters the entire length of the bow & there is a lot of empty space that allows the transfer medium to stick to the card stock causing the stones to move. The cheap DT glitter vinyl does the trick. Plus the silhouette mat is wonderful to stick your template.

I was looking for a way to make Rhinestone Templates out of Cardstock in which your video has. Thank You so much. Your way is very economical and inexpensive and this is exactly what I was searching for. Great Video. I have one question, what else can I use to transfer the Rhinestones from the Cardstock if I don't have any scrap vinyl? I'm new at this Rhinestone thing and is just now getting into it. @@TheEducatedNatural if you don't mind I have a question. I'm brand new but have wanted to get started for about 2 years. Which size stones should I begin with? Are the SS10 in maybe the Crystal AB and I was thinking the Black Diamond a good start?
Most people start with ss10 hotfix stones. The next size is the ss6. For nonhotfix stones which are flat back stones most people start with ss10 and up. Rhinestone size just depends on what you are doing and personal preference. If you are looking to purchase rhinestones in bulk I'd suggest looking for a RUclipsr named The Baby's Booty. She has a rhinestone buy in going on currently.

Yes the flock is expensive in my opinion so I had to find another alternative. Sometimes you have to use what you have.
@@TheEducatedNatural Exactly and that Astro Bright is cheap when you think of how much of it you get. Plus you can color code your templates for different projects. : )
