    It should be easy to fix your broken uke, Tomo. You can do it yourself. Loosen the strings so they are very slack (or remove them). Gently pull the neck open while you squirt or brush some wood glue in the gap all around the heel. Then if you don't have a large clamp, you should be able to space 2 books apart on the floor approximately 15 inches or so, such that you place the lower bout of the uke body on one book's edge and the nut / 1st fret on the other book's edge, so you have the uke spanning the gap between the books. Then place another book or 2 or very light weights (not too heavy - just enough weight to close the gap at the neck & body) on the back of the uke near the upper bout and wipe off the glue that squeezes out with a damp cloth. Then let it sit for a day and should be good to go! That's what I would do, anyway. Ukes are a blast :)

      I concur. I am a hobby luthier who have built guitars and ukuleles. Ukes have very low tension strings and short necks, so just a surface heel joint with high quality wood glue with the method you described will be more than adequate.

    Who would ever have thought you could play rock and blues on a uke, your broken uke I believe is an easy fix, if it's a clean break then a little bit of tight bond glue and a long furniture clamp will do Thanks for sharing.

    Like trying out a Martin guitar? Thanks for the uke demos! Neat!

    That Kiawa ukulele is absolutely beautiful and has great tone! What wood is it made of? I just ordered a Martin S1K soprano ukulele made entirely of Hawaiian 🌺 Koa. I can’t wait till it arrives! It’s amazing how popular ukulele has recently become so wildly popular worldwide. Also Kiawa makes some of the best ukulele’s anywhere. Even better than Martin. But i agree. The small soprano size is the most fun to play!

    Tomo I think it would be an entertaining video to see you do something different and try to place some old school death metal like a death song or Morbid Angel. D standard and tremolo picking it would be fun to see your attempt at a chaotic and noisy solo in contrast to your usually very elegant playing😃 tell your neighbors to plug their ears for a bit😃

    Great playing! Thank you Tomo. I have question,'' How do learn ukulele so fast? The tuning is very different. Fingering for the C maj chord is different?

    • @BL55
      @BL55 Год назад +2

      I thought the tuning was very different also, but.., after some thought, strings 4-1 on the guitar ( D G B E ) are the same intervals apart as the uke strings (usually tuned G C E A). Technically the G is an octave higher, but that doesn’t matter. So, if you use the chord shapes you know for the guitar strings 4-1, they will work on the uke. (Although you will be playing in a different key)

      You can think of it as playing a guitar with a capo on the 5th fret, and missing the E & A strings.

    • @TomoFujitaMusic
