Amazing lesson as usually. I have done all triads and "spread -triad " video lessons in GW. I practise triads playing the circle of fifths starting with top strings and the first half of the circle and then 2,3,4 strings with the other half and after that the second round with 3,4,5 and finally 4,5,6 strings for every half of the circle, Maj and min keys. I cannot believe I can find any triad in any key almost without thinking. I have saved years of practise thanks to GW.
Thank you so much! Sammi thought this lesson is a little challenging... You did your homework so this one is good for you! Good job! You saved your time! Most people are still playing a lot of hours and not knowing these important triads!
I started playing guitar around 30 years ago and i still don’t know triads, I understand and have a feel by ear. I never had professional lessons, My father is also self-taught, he taught me the first steps with open chords and bar chords. I learned a lot on my own by ear but I've reached a point where I'm stuck with shapes and freatbord ignorance. So I'm super happy to have found Guitar Wisdom and Tomo! After I finish learning the notes on the freatbord I will dedicate my time to the triads! I understand that it is very important now! I deeply recommend Guitar Wisdom! Thank you Tomo!

Hi Tomo, this is exactly the type of lesson I’ve been looking for - how to solo more harmonically using triads rather than pentatonic shapes. It would be nice to learn a few basic licks in each of the triad shapes for a future lesson. Thank you!
Hi Tomo - Happy New Year! Great triad lesson - you summed it up well (@ 17:02) "Oh, too good". Good luck with your cleaning/sorting. I totally understand this as I'm doing similar. All the best. Cheers.

I get both for around the same price here in India …People say that pineapple is just a concert sounding shape in Soprono size body! Can you help me decide? Is there a real advantage going for the pineapple other than the shape? Also do I lose anything by going to pineapple instead of the traditional hourglass shape?

Amazing Tomo!! That’s exactly what I was looking for! I know my triads very well (practiced them a lot during months), so could you make other videos like this one where you show how to apply the triad in Blues or Jazz? You’re the best! Thanks 🙏 Happy new Year From France 🇫🇷
Glad it was helpful! So happy to hear that! More specific? This was in blues. You are asking me to show how to apply the triad in blues or jazz(?) Happy New Year! Thanks so much!
That's why bb King and Albert King and other greats played what they did like blues scale notes 🎶 and those inversion notes so much more then tones and I believe dynamics really helps with feel now we are getting professional
I'm glad that these lessons help some people. I could have played along with the backing track like Tomo did, (though not as well), but I could play the right notes. But I can't follow all the things he's saying or see the whole picture.
Nowadays I'm putting more emphasis of soloing the scale I choose to play, on top of chord progression, in one string (could be the major, minor, mixolydian mode, etc.) Also having as reference the key of the progression, I play the triads of all the chords in one CAGED position (in a range of 3 to 5 frets) so this would be vertical triads, and then move to another CAGED position to get experience about the triads on that new position (so just use 2 positions). Eventually I'd move from first position to second to develop fluency horizontally with triads, and use the one string scale as main highway to get the exit to the next CAGED position. Finally, you can mix these 2 positions, the vertical and horizontal triads, and expand to other positions, trusting in the one string scale as the main road to move when I need to change positions. Only with this, the way I see the fretboard, and understand the triads of each chord shape in different positions has helped to sound muuuuuch better. Last but not least and one of the foundations of my improvement in fretboard knowledge/fluency, it's to know where are and how it sounds the intervals regarding each chord/scale I'm playing. P.S. And about gears, nothing better and more effective to get better, and improve your tempo, than a looper. Hope this help to someone.
Thank you for sharing! Instead of thinking CAGED shapes. Feel triad inversions all over the fretboard so as if you are playing white keys on piano! This will help you to understands the fretboard instead of memorizing shapes. Thank you.
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thanks for the advice maestro. I will be reviewing all triads videos from your GW. I realized that instictly for some triads, as I'm trying to think constantly on intervals, if for example I know I'm going to a 5th grade in the progression, I already pre-visualize the triad or some inversion of that grade in the closer position where I am, but indeed I need to internalize more the triad/fretboard as piano to get more freedom and avoid being 'caged' by the CAGED positions/shapes :)
@@Vespel007 Thanks for sharing! You can practice triad inversions over any chord progressions. You only need 1-2 seconds to know exactly next triad... if you take 3 seconds.... too late! You need to review more. So happy to hear that you are subscribing my Guitar Wisdom. Please use the fourm. Yes. Practice more to be familiarize those triad inversions. Thank you!
I think what you are trying to convey is to move from noodling over a scale mapping of the fretboard and play the chord changes using the triads to map the fretboard. The added benefit of not sounding like you are playing a scale.
Thank you so much! I use triad inversions to understand the fretboard and chord progressions. I have practiced scales early on... a few years. After that I never practiced scales or arpeggios. You learn them first then stop practice those. Start applying them in music with native language of blues, jazz...
Thinking, feeling the sound! Learn the sound not shapes! This way you can improvise freely otherwise you have to remember something! You're very welcome! Thank you so much!

Great lesson & advice. I love the BB King flavour :)
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes! I love both. Thank you so much! I use my picking volume & dynamics.
That was just my guitar, amp and my reverb pedal.
Thanks Tomo! Happy New Year! All the best in 2025, cheers!
Happy new year! You're very welcome! Thank you!
Taught him everything he knows.
Thank you!
I'm glad that these lessons help some people. I could have played along with the backing track like Tomo did, (though not as well), but I could play the right notes. But I can't follow all the things he's saying or see the whole picture.
Thank you so much!
Thank you maestro! :)

Good job!
Thank you Tomo
Thank you!
master, simply thanks
You're very welcome!
Nowadays I'm putting more emphasis of soloing the scale I choose to play, on top of chord progression, in one string (could be the major, minor, mixolydian mode, etc.)
Also having as reference the key of the progression, I play the triads of all the chords in one CAGED position (in a range of 3 to 5 frets) so this would be vertical triads, and then move to another CAGED position to get experience about the triads on that new position (so just use 2 positions).
Thank you!
Amazing lesson as usual!
Thanks so much!
Good Video Tomo!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks again Tomo, you too are so special 😂🎉❤😂
My pleasure! Thank you so much!
November challenge was great Mr. Fujita. Looking forward to more 30 day challenges.
