It almost feels weird not watching a 16:9 video on my 4:3 iPad. You get so used to it that watching 4:3 video on your 4:3 iPad is oddly distracting.

I have an old SN30 pro. The one with no grips. I really love it and the whole point of me getting it was that it's fits in my Satisfye case. Having a controller with all four trigger buttons and joysticks on the go is great. I already have Switch Pro controllers so I can't see myself getting this but it really does look like a great controller.

I have the Pro+ and was hoping this one would wake my Switch. Once they make a new one that can wake the Switch, I’ll upgrade. Hehe

The reason why I buy this Pro 2 is not just because of the upgrades is also that I was lacking another controller for switch, I was going to buy the same pro+ but I saw that they are releasing pro 2 so I'm just gonna get that when its out.

Waking up the switch is something I need. One thing I love about my gamecube controller from power A is it's licensed by Nintendo maybe if 8BitDo had a small partnership with Nintendo, we could finally have that their controllers wake the switch up
Might pick this up eventually, but for now I'm perfectly happy with the two Pro Plus controllers I already have. This would be an instant buy for me if they brought back the Super Famicom color scheme though.
I bought the GB colorway, was also bummed they dont have the SNES (gray and purple)

The extra back buttons with mappable buttons and an on-controller profile switch is reeeeeeeally appealing to me. Would make gunning in MHGU able to feel comparable to current gen Monster Hunter. Might actually go back and finish it up.
Also, using an app to configure buttons while in game makes getting your settings that much closer to perfect.
Definitely gonna pick one up when I can (especially when i go back to the aforementioned MHGU)

Force power buttons for Jedi outcast, I recommend grip and push, grip and enemy lift them up as you run underneath them and force push... I call it the pit!
I got that Sonic shirt last year and from then I've seen a LOT of people with that shirt and I can't blame them since it's a really cool shirt.
Didn't have one so got a black one (on order), the device switch on the back versus the button combo on start up and the textured back and the extra buffing AND the centred start select for essentially no increase in cost makes this an absolutely no brainer

The game industry should make the back button an official L4 and R4 button while at it use the mic for voice recognition order/function to add even more buttons.
I can attest- this thing is a perfect controller period- that d pad is absolutely perfect esp for retro games. Then the analog sticks are just as good for what they do. Absolutely A++ 100% on this controller.
one thing im waiting for is for their phone holders to be upgraded to allow slightly larger phones, so many phones are just a little bigger then when they originally designed their accessory phone holder, and now a days if i want to use my phone i have to remove it from the case to fit it inside the holder, that and id love to see 8bitdo do a phone controller that fits the phone in the middle!
As I already have an SN30 Pro the only thing that would have made me upgrade would have been a wake button or like function on the controller. I like the idea of the back buttons but I don't think those and the app are enough right now.
That sounds like a good buy. I’m already using two pro controllers and alternate when one of the batteries die. I just want a controller with a good life span. Bells and whistles are cool but they don’t really sway me into getting one. Good review all the same.

The Pro2 has all the buttons aligned correctly (centered). That drives me nuts seeing the old version off-center.

Omg it was so liberating to watch this! On iPad Pro it feels like you can breathe, 4:3 is the future! Again 🤪
this might be a little nitpicky and I don't know if anyone else shares this issue, but the left stick on my 8BitDo Pro Plus controller senses direction a little tilted. when pointing it perfectly upwards, it goes a little to the left, it isn't Drift because it doesn't do it unpredictably, but its a bit weird when using it after another controller without that quirk.
4:3 is cute, but the wife shoots were super blurry. I like that you’re experimenting a bit more, but with how little was in focus with the wide shoots I felt a little ill. I don’t mean any of this to be rude, I really enjoy your videos. Just thought I’d add my opinion.
I'm down for that onboard profiles man. Before I ended up with two controllers with two different setups.
8bitdo is all hype. After buying their products I'm done with them. Laggy, stick drift, and long triggers.
I was excited to get them but had nothing but issues with all mine for Switch, PC, Steam, and everything else.
I have very similar experience, have two of their controllers and both have issues.
@AnimicsYT so the built in bluetooth is just that bad with everything without a dongle? Dongle can't help with stick drift though. 😫
@AnimicsYT mines only happen if I tried to reconnect to the switch after plugging the controller to the pc / connecting to pc via Bluetooth. It took a bit of time to return its normal response state when I reconnect to the switch. Seems that the controller need to “adapt/get used” to a new device”. Solution, avoid Bluetooth connection with multiple devices too frequent.
Disclaimer : Yes it’s the 8bitdo’s fault for the poor connection, I’m not justifying their flaws, just merely suggesting a temporary solution.
Long triggers isn't a problem because you can easily change the registration point in the trigger travel in the software.
I use my Pro+ on PC with Steam and haven't had any issues with lag.
Edit: I haven't had stick drift either. Perhaps try increasing the dead zone in the software.
@@dtape I've tried everything and if they work for you that's awesome, but I had to send mine back. DS4 works a lot better.

ZR and ZL buttons on it are sooo nice in games like bayonetta 2 it felt like magic
It felt like nostalgia xbox 360 days in particualr
And the long battery life is just icing on the cake now

Is the connectivity any better now? I've had 3 Pro+ and all of them had trouble connecting to the Switch from time to time. Sometimes it would require multiple tries to get it to connect.
I know nobody asked or cares, but I got my Pro 2 and I absolutely love it. The buttons sit a tiny bit higher than the older ones and it feels great. That tiny revision they made to the shell feels great. The texture is also awesome. Hands down my favorite controller for Mario Maker.
i personally like the simple design on the pro+, having switches is not a make or break for me since i can jsut remember the button combo to connect to the pc or switch

I have the Pro+, and afaik, you can't alter the trigger sensitivity for Switch.

Whoa! I'd never even noticed that before. It looks like they originally did that so that the start/select buttons were equally spaced between the D-pad's right arrow and the Y-button.
the distance between the buttons is also getting closer ( A-Y )

I kinda wish 8bitdo release the same controller tech on an Xbox/Pro-con form factor, its just that I got really used to that setup...
I'm happy they are the same size. I have small hands (xs gloves at the hospital) and the pro controller is way too big for me. Dropped my sf30+ and I'm happy I held off replacing it.

the battery on my original one died, and despite contacting support i don't have any way to buy just the renewable battery, so this would've been a drop-in replacement
but nah, that's the number one feature i absolutely needed, and considering it doesn't have this, oh well, guess i'll wait for a pro 3 or whatever and see if they finally add this in

I would get these kinds of controllers but my parents are mad I got a Nintendo official pro controller even though I already have a one from a different brand.

i only stick to the SN30pro and not the later versions due to the fact that having Macros on those prevents them to be used in Smash Tourneys, since those are pretty much banned.

Did you score the buttons on your Pro+'s for extra grip?
I know at least in the Guitar world, people will score their Picks for extra grip so they don't slip out of their hand when playing, but I never saw someone scoring the buttons on their controllers.
I always search for a controller with back buttons and also turbo/macros so I will try yo get as soon as I can
It's not 4:3, it's widescreen with the tops and bottoms filled in ~ ; P hehe
I wiiiiiish we would get some fricking joycons like this. I love my hori split pad with the turbo and back buttons but the lack of batteries and mushy dpad just aren't cutting it.

I have my handy original 8bitdo+ controller. My orginal is a good controller and is not worth updating to the new model. So I decided to add the monster hunter pro controller as my second controller. I feel I'm going to still prefer my 8bitdo+ controller, tho

Well that is very nice. I love my pro controller(s) but my hands feel like they are not holding it firmly if I have 2 fingers on both shoulder buttons.
