    I'm super excited. Replacing my other devices with the Ally X. Will do dual boot Bazzite, or run Windows VM via Linux. It's honestly great bang for buck. You get 16GB laptops for the same price, but obviously you need kb/m and a screen to hook it up to. That said, docking it makes it feel like a desktop machine. It's great when you don't want to be on a desk to game. Loved the original, can't wait for this one now that the battery is finally improved.

    Howdy
    Finally I've found your channel again which i had watched a video on a tablet which isn't signed into a account and thus no watch history. Regardless I've watched your early thought prior to purchasing the Ally X on the aftermarket. I wasn't sure i was going to buy it. But.... But. See, the thing is, the seller had it up for 800 (whom i paid in a hybrid way of cash and PayPal) and the seller even came to deliver it. The ally x had a purchase bonn from the electronics market, a huge DELL docking station (?) and a 120w charger with cable. I think i had a insane bargain. the Dell alone i think costs close to 200. That's nuts.

      @@VinnyUnion thanks so much for the comment and looking for me :) glad I could be helpful/entertaining for you! That’s awesome ! You did get yourself a bargain! Considering the units are £800 alone plus like you say the Dell is £200! You got a steal! I wish you many happy hours playing! 💪

      @@donkeydan172 i haven't even mentioned that it's 2TB Version which I believe is either even more expensive or it was installed manually. I'll check the receipt later whether that's the case or not. Warranty from MediaMarkt as well. Actually this is indeed a sick bargain now that a few hours have passed. I genuinely was unsure initially.
      Oof I'm using this like the Steam Deck - as a desktop PC linked to a LG Ultrawide and several audio gear - works flawlessly. I've been having a few matches in Battlefield which had some stutters at first but after having tweaked a ton of things and the root cause of it all; I've had directx12 set in Battlefield 1 which was the cause for he dx error crash and whatnot, now on dx11 mode this runs like butter. Of course I've set the resolution scale quite a bit down and set it to low to medium with high graphics and it still runs incredibly smooth. As you may noticed I do set things very low with the resolution scale set quite lower than it has to be but for the past year that's what I was used to with the LCD Deck.
      The one thing that justified it for me a lot was storage: it went from 256gb to 2000gb which I believe is a another plus point for the purchase.
      Overall I'm happy with this beast and its capabilities so far.
      Happy gaming! In my case more productivity, media consumption but also partially gaming!
      Edit: I've checked the receipt and it has 1TB which means it was upgraded manually after all. I've also read the accessories as carry bag was purchased separately which I'm a bit baffled by I thought the casing was bundled with the ally by default? Anyway I'll explore the bag a bit and see if the original ssd was also included and If so that would be like 3tb worth of ssds which is a even bigger bargain.

      They didn't sell these with any protection at all, which is crazy! I was unhappy with that lol!! It is such a capable machine and takes most by surprise with how powerful it is :) you got so much storage than what you've had and I love that with these, no more paying super extra money for storage when this comes with it :) Sounds like you're going to use it to it's full potential which is nice to read! I hope it's everything you wanted and more and you get everything done :) thanks for coming to find me :)

    I'm in the market for a handheld and was going to get a nearly new Ally Z1 Extreme second hand as they're half the price of the X and i can stream AAA games with Geforce Now. But the comments on the controls of the v1 are kind of worrying me.
    Great video btw.

    I have a PC with RTX4080 and a Steam Deck OLED. I'm just like you, I like to sit on the couch to play and the Steam Deck Oled is often too weak to continue playing the games I want. And must play everything at 30FPS or lower. The Ally X would be really great here. I'm just worried that it won't fit well in the hand. Auch kann man am Ally X lossless scaling nutzen was echt ein riesen bonus ist.

      @@masterbenjamin3348 absolutely! It’s nice to have a full rig and then relax on the couch with our handhelds ! The Ally X is really good at playing AAA games and allowing you to continue stories/grinds whilst chilling lol! It fits so well in the hand and feels really comfortable over a prolonged period :) I would argue it feels slightly better than the Deck! Thanks for commenting :)

      30-35 vs 38-43 FPS is not much of a perceivable difference. Isn't it?
      And the SD's OLED screen elevates the graphical fidelity ten-fold.
      But i still went with ally x for the fuss free compatibility and ability to play pretty much whatever i want.

    • @JamieR
      @JamieR 2 месяца назад +1

      Did you end up getting it? It's especially good since we can add Bazzite dual boot. Best of both worlds.
      I'll personally be using it as a desktop device for coding and everyday computing on an UWQHD. Then boot bazzite, or maybe run Windows in VM via Linux to keep it all in one system.

    • @utubuddy
      @utubuddy 2 месяца назад

      @@JamieR ah yes! one of the more reasons why i leaned towards the ally x. Can just dock it and use it as a PC with my work monitor, kb and mouse.
      Don't plan to dual boot it. Does bazzite have any performance gains? else im ok with the shabby yet familiar windows.
      And the delivery is tomorrow, however i wont be home until 4 more days :D cant wait. But it's ridiculously priced in India with the import duties and taxes. I paid $1072. Whereas the ally is priced great at $583.
      Would have picked it up, had it not come with the poor battery , memory card issues, white color and inferior buttons.
