I will never buy a PC handheld that doesn’t have thumb trackpads like the steam deck. I use them in nearly every game. I am looking forward to the deck 2 (if/whenever that comes) and the power it’ll bring, because I’m finding the deck underpowered now.
The trackpads are amazing aren’t they! Like I said I never used them too much but when I did they were really well made! Valve done a good thing with them! Hopefully a Deck 2 will come soon! I’ll be having a look at it for sure :)
Just got my ally x yesterday..... Ergonomics surprisingly great and performance great...Bought it for gamepass and multiplayer shooters eliminating the steam deck for me.... Glad with my purchase
@@Strong_Genetics chuffed for you mate! It’s such a good machine! The fact it can do so much the deck can’t makes it an easy justification! Wishing you many happy hours! 💪

Just returned the Ally X and went back to my OLED Deck. The Ally was just a giant pain for very little gain. It’s absolutely a PC in handheld format, whereas the Deck is built to be a console with access to the massive Steam library. Sure, I could install Bazzite on the X, but $800 to lose the OLED screen wasn’t worth it. VRR is cool and all, when it works, but if you sped a decent amount of time with the device docked, VRR is useless. Just get a laptop for that price.
Oh that sucks to read! I do 100% agree with the deck being a console like experience and for ease of use it is by far easier than the Ally/Ally X. £800 is a lot of money and for the gains you get it isn't mindblowing, good, but not world changing in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by :)
@@donkeydan172 Cool! Looking forward to watching it! Did you try any FIFINE products? If you're interested, we are happy to provide some to you. How do I contact you?
The best thing about the Ally X and really any windows handheld is also the worst thing and that is windows. Steam deck is great by compatibility is definitely an issue and using multiple launchers like EA or Gamespass etc… once you setup your windows handheld just log in and go into offline mod on most of the apps and you’re golden.
Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more! It’s amazing because there is nothing holding it back but it’s so clunky at the same time lol!! I guess we can’t have it all haha!
I returned my Ally X. It had a dead pixel but i found i didn't like the ergonomics, the Steamdeck's were so superior for me. It was also too heavy, and I found I severely missed the Steam OS after having constant problems with the Ally X's Armory Crate not registering controller input after a while, only fixed by a restart. Bad sleep feature also annoyed me. Though it was a powerful machine and lots of fun
Been going back and forth for a while and loved your assessment of it all. I think you helped solidify my decision for an Ally X. Thought Steam Deck would be my option but I just hear these stories of developers adding anti cheats for no reason like in F1 24 and stuff. So between that game and shooters I feel like the Ally X is the way to go. Keep up the great work!
@@DeliProductions thank you very much for that comment, I appreciate it! 🙂 glad I could help and give a good feeling to everyone :) the Ally X really does out perform the deck with the added anti cheats and launchers so I’m very sure you won’t be disappointed! Happy gaming to you :)

This is basically the Gameboy vs the other fancier competitors during the 90s.
Which one is Nintendo? And which is the fancier?
@@Tneo7 Steam Deck is Nintendo imo, a more reliable product with a more premium feel

Depend on the use. But in term of raw power and battery the x is way better and sd oled better OS and easy to pick and play.

Bazzite is a HUGE reason i was able to commit to the Ally x Purchase
Does it have the same sleep mode as the steam deck using bazzite???

I use my trackpads like 2nd nature. If a system doesn't have them, what's the point of having a desktop feature??
